I agree with everything you said. Except: Yo man, what's with the Freddie dig?

Anyway, yeah, you are right. To say Doohan didn't have any competition is rather crazy.

Sorry Bikergirl, I know this is a thread about Marco. (It probably doesn't matter though; she's just ignoring us anyway, she only notices that handsome man Roger).

well jumkie, you either have it or you dont mate.

i would love to see marco finish in the top 3 next year, and i think with the right package and his his head in the right place he is more than capable. ducati should have at least 1 italian on the red bike, my dream of seeing rossi on it will never come true so marco is the next best for me.

Ha ha! as much as I love the Fredster, (and who can deny that the guys a legend?) his motovation was like an on off switch. One season he was untouchable, the next he was 2 stone heavier and not interested!

Him and Lil John must be the most intriguing racers of the last 20 years, and strangely enough, I loved following Kocsinki too!

Anyone who crashed coz of a "fish on the track" is cool by me!

and it will finally silence the Stoner doubter when casey anialates melandri. but melandri excuse will be he did not have the "magic" tires and bike like stoner though

didly squat..........haha

I'm gonna pin this to the homepage if Melandri beats Casey in head to head next, which imo will happen on numerous occasions.

One thing for sure, its gonna be the best battle between teammates

not pinnining it yet ben???

A wise comment. It's a very long season!

Marco definitely needs to get his act together, but if this was an election I would not be calling it quite yet ... maybe after a few more races I might!

still didnt happen despite losing 30 seconds LOL

stoner can stop have a ciggy and still be infront of marco

I was one of the ones that thought Marco would put Stoner under pressure, I was totally wrong. Still I'm puzzled how Marco is SO slow. I hope it doesn't end up like another Poggiali.

Someone asked the question as to whether ducati have the technical resources to build good bikes for both factory riders, let alone provide sufficient support for alice/d'antin. I have wondered if even stoner's second bike has been of the same standard on some occasions when he crashed in practice or warm up.

and why did the #2 rider in 07 get the support he needed to overtake the #1 rider at the time?

with a WC win = more resources for BOTH riders.

This was an argument raised by somebody else on another forum. They may have money, but ducati corse who build the bikes are apparently a small operation, according to a thread last year not much bigger than kenny roberts, and people say the bikes look very hand-built close-up.
EDIT Second in the motogp championship on a non-factory bike is hardly to be sneered at.

The lack of resources thing is bollocks, it MIGHT affect the client bikes but I'm sure Ducati corse has all the parts they need for both their riders. The cost of cuilding a part is almost irrelevant compared to the cost of designing them and the machinery to build them. If you can make one you can make a bunch of them.

Pinky, I sense some bitterness about the 125cc and 250cc titles, I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Casey failed to win them.
