Why is Vale copping a hate campaign just because of tax issues?
Just about everyone with a quid tries to get out of paying as much tax as possible. It's his Accountants job to do that for him.

Actually they made him out to be a real villain. If you were in Rossi's place of course you'd let the accountants take care of stuff. Only there are specific rules to be followed when you change domicile and it seems things weren't done properly. So he was laid into for 'cheating' his country. As a bike racer I don't think anyone expects him to know the ins and outs of the law. That's why Gibo Badioli got fired in the end. He was supposed to be getting professional advice but seems he was just following his own head. Turns out Rossi never officially changed his domicile - there is an exact procedure to follow (I only know as I live with a lawyer who specialises in exactly this sort of thing) when he moved to London. So he was officially still obliged to declare his income in Italy.

seems strange that the italians are turning against rossi because of this tax issue. after all its his management team that would be responsible for such thing i would have thought.
rossi lives in london so i presume he pays british tax anyway. does marco still live in london ? lewis hamilton has just buggered off to Switzerland to avoid paying higher taxes but most british people's attitude is fair play to you mate ,dont blame you.

No it's not strange. THe Italian media is a strange strange beast. THey love building people up to hero status only to kick them down. They go from 'love to love you' to 'love to hate you' in the space of days or less. Paparazzi is an Italian word, and on Italian daytime telly you get 'gossip' programs consisting of simply famous people being followed around. In restaurants, in clubs. It's scary. And any morsel is good for chewing on. Vale's tax issues riding piggy back on the Arianna/Canalis gossip was just too much for them to resist.

As for Marco...he's never lived in London. He lives in Derby just minutes away from Donington Park.

so we have vale in london, marco in derby, checa in yorkshire, guintoli, in leister, all .... holes, if i had there money i could find a lot better places to live then there,

BikerGirl, is what you describe an Italian version of the Aussie 'tall poppy syndrome'?

That is where the Aussie people and media sometimes turn against a high profile person for any number of reasons, generally related to them getting to much press.

If so, it is unfortunate as no doubt it will be having an effect on his focus just when he needs it to be at it's prime.

Ok, I get your point.
I guess I'd be off somewhere a bit more scenic if I had the dosh.

Still, I'm in walking distance of Donington park, so its not all bad.
