No way he will win the title or a race but i think looking at how people are saying he has fixed the kawk in the few times he has been out ( with the help of Hiate) for the rear end traction which took kawk ages and they never solved it, I do think he will mix it up a bit this year?

Melandri could maybe get a few finishes to top 8 this season. Let's see if he has a mistake-free race in Motegi.

If Melandri gets some good results, it would be interesting to see if Kawasaki shows some interest.

Yeah - it really is too bad that they aren't going to lend him any more support. He really does deserve it after all the hard work he has done.

- motogpmatters quote about his race in qatar:
"if it hadn't been for an overly optimistic entrance into Turn 1 at the beginning of the second lap, that might well have happened. After running off into the gravel, and losing 23 seconds on the leader Casey Stoner, Melandri rode a strong race, fighting his way back past three riders who had a 10 or more second advantage over him, to finish the race in 14th place, and score points."

Making up 10 seconds to reach those riders and then passing them is a strong pace for sure! If he would not have lost those 23 seconds he would have been up with Kallio and Vermeulen... and if I'm doing all this math right - he the 10 seconds added to that would have put him mixing it within the top 5! Let's hope he stays consistent at Motegi

Actually, I think it's the fact that Kwak don't have their hands on this project that it's going better that expectations. It seems like whatever the factory has their hands on these days is not doing so well.
