Marquez vs Lüthi incident

I could've sworn I heard the commentators say something about a different aero package for Marquez... but I'm not 100% sure...

not at all irked, just don´t understand the anymosity towards Marquez by many posters because of what I perceive to be 3 reasons; being Spanish, Repsol backed, and very dominant.

The € figures you quote, are they public knowledge? If so, you have a reliable link to the info you would like to share?? Not looking for a pissing contest, just trully curious.

And if correct, that is a business decision by Suter and their other customers. No one is forcing the other teams from working with Suter. FTR, Moriwaki, etc would certainly enjoy more customers to work with to beat Marquez and Suter.

I have no animosity towards Marquez at all. Did I post something to that effect? In fact, I was defending him against people intimating that he had an advantage over other teams by showing what components could be tweaked.

Yes, all those figures are available on the net... Google is your friend.

Google is everyone´s friend, and the net is everyones dumping ground, hence my request for a reliable source. Since you´ve done the leg work, mind sharing?

Sorry, didn´t mean to lump you into the Marquez doubter crowd, just that your € figures you posted felt like you were claiming an unfair advantage.

My reason for disliking him is because all ready the rules are being applied to him differently than they are for others. If he is truly a great rider and a future alien then why does he need the special treatment? We are just about done with the last rider who was given special treatment and made to appear better then he probably ever was so the last thing we need is another golden goose that the sport will revolve around for the next decade to the detriment of all others.

No reason to dislike the 18 year old kid, dislike the organization.

Other than being on one of the best, and best funded teams, I don't see any special treatment.

If for next year, the Rookie Rule is done away with, your beef is again with Dorna and the factory teams not the 18 year old kid.

True and I stand corrected.

I don't like him because he is Spanish then!

Woohoo. 1000th post!

Ifs and buts... there's not much hope of the rookie rule going away next year.

I don´t think they should do away with the rule. It´s a great stepping stone for a rookie, with out the added pressure of being on a factory ride.

The last rookie that went directly to a factory team was Lorenzo, and in his first year he had a lot of awfull crashes.

You are a good ambassador for Marquez. You make lots of sense too. I still like the kid, but a few incidents have made me reconsider. You are right about the organization, I just hope Marc has good enough people around him and a good head on his shoulders not to buy into the darling status and become an arrogant young man.

I see a lot more of Marquez on the tele here in Spain than most of the PS members will. I´ve had the chance to meet him and his father at Alcañiz, and I also understand him. He may be an excelent actor, but from what I have seen of him he seems extremely greatful and a bit surprized to where he is and what he is doing. He seems shy in all his interviews and very humble as well as level headed.

To me it seems as though he is the neighborhood kid playing with his favorite toys and being extremely good at it, so good he wins.

His team is extremely level headed too. At the end of last season they had some big decisions to make. I´m pretty sure there could have been a GP bike for him this year if he realy wanted it. Marquez and the team decided there is no reason to rush his progression and another year in moto 2, with the championship would do him good.

Marquez will be the first rookie in GP to win a race since Pedrosa.

Your hatred for Rossi is ....... tiring Mental and completely misguided, change the record, please.

I think the hatred for Marquez is natural for most folk, he's clearly the bollocks and assuming nothing bad happens to him he going to be champion, therefore getting more support than other riders...that's the way sport works i'm afraid. He does remind me of Valentino, in that people saw he was a future champion and got the support needed to get him there. He's young and is clearly still learning, seems like a good kid though...

The idealisation of Rossi is far more tiring. Change that record.

The day the bopper stop talking about the 9 WC as if they are relevant in a discussion today and all the other myths that surround Rossi such as greatest developer, mind trickster and GOAT then there will be no more need for the other side of the debate to be put forth.

If only you folks would listen to yourselves one day then you would understand how we got to where we are now. The vile hatred by Boppers against EVERY other rider over the past decade got us here. You are only reaping what you sowed so stop complaining about it.

That's funny mental, you're the dafty who cant write a post without a sly mention of Rossi....

Please point me in the direction of a post written by me that fits the criteria of what you just wrote... Just because i'm a Rossi fan doesn't mean i'm a bopper you muppet.

I have no issue with you Spooky, in fact I can't ever recall us having words. However, if you want to have a go at me for being one side of a 2 sided debate and not have a go at the other then I am afraid we will have a problem. Yes I have a dig at the Rossi legacy constantly because I think it is largely myth. Not all of it but a decent enough percentage. Am I unique? No. Now days most english speaking forums have swung against the Rossi is the GOAT myth and most Rossi fans don't like it and nor do they understand or acknowledge why it has happened. Additionally I am not sure if you have noticed but almost ALL of the MotoGP debate is about Stoner and Rossi. I am excited for the day that Rossi is no longer a part of MotoGP so the discussion can be about something else.

Fair play. You're feeding the 'Rossi-Stoner' monster though by writing posts like the i responded to. Given we support different riders we're always going to have varying opinions on the Rossi-Stoner saga. Whether or not there have politics at play are neither here nor there, Dorna are ones to blame here, not Rossi. If he wasn't the likeable (by most, not all, clearly) character he is and wasn't as skilled as he is then Dorna wouldn't have viewed him as their cashcow, unfortunately they did and as a result of it is hated by certain people. If Casey was a super likeable guy they'd probably do the same with him....

Good work guys! you managed to ....... infest another thread! And this one is about Moto 2 riders!! wohooo!

I have repeatedly blamed Dorna for this.

Sorry mate but it is the MotoGP section. There is a Moto2 section. Also please don't infer that either Spooky or I are to blame for infesting every thread.

Just went back and reviewed page 1 of this thread where other members bought both Rossi and Stoner into the discussion so pull your head in.

No infering needed, it is plain and obvious. The last post are the two of you bantering back and forth about the same ol´ .....

So this isn´t a GP specific thread, does that make a difference? After 4 pages of discussion, where the thread belongs is a mute point. We were discusing 1 and possibly 2 GP candidates, that better??

The first page mention of Stoner arm pump was quickly forgotten by all and the conversation at hand continued. ...., you forgot it till you went back to double check.
