Marquez loses competitive streak

Well if you hadn't all basically called me .... for liking Rossi and made feel an outsider from my very fist post with constant abuse I might have been open to share my insights with you but as it happens I just hope you go .... yourselves....

Then surely there's little point in you continuing to post on this forum.

I have called you nothing of the sort and been nothing other than civil to you.

You are quite within your rights to express an opinion as you are to like Valentino Rossi, but if you state it in such a contemptuous condescending manner then expect to be treated equally with disdain. Further, anticipate that the validity of your claims may at times be questioned.

Also ask yourself why we repeatedly point out that there are fans of Valentino Rossi and there are fans of motorcycle racing.

"I hope Marquez has a really big crash sometime soon and is out of action"

I wonder whether, using your universal paddock pass, you were amongst the yellow throngs at Misano that cheered Lorenzo's accident?

Cordially and again, genuinely, I'd love to see a range of your 'inside' photo's from the races that you have attended.

I did cheer at Misano, crashing is a part of racing and I loved seeing Lorenzo crash!!! And I love it when Marquez crashes, so many fine moments this year concerning that!!

I do hope Marquez bins it big time,he's a danger to himself let alone others...... never liked him before and hate him now....

And just to clarify, you are a fan of Valentino Rossi.

Thanks, that's all I needed to know.

That's kinda sad. Hating a rider. rly?
But as several have asked, and I've insinuated, Valencia paddock pics would be much appreciated.
Do you get your passes from VDS or like me, generally skim off the unused ones from the small teams with no entourage? (though I did get IRTA scrutineer passes once. Thank you, Rog K (RIP))

I wouldn't say I've ever cheered when a rider has crashed but there was a sense of satisfaction watching VR sat in the gravel wondering why his Ducati had just folded on him but that was mainly because it was a humbling experience for him, other than a few tyre issues with the Yamaha in '06 and '07 he'd never had to deal with a seriously ill-handling bike, after all the insults flung towards it's previous rider he ended up like the rest of the other Ducati riders of that time, unable to come close to winning a race let alone several.

I like pedrosa, don't mind Lorenzo, quick and fair.... hate marquez, didn't like stoner, like everyone else pretty much..... if you all need to know my life story I grew up with a current racer and I'm very privileged to do the things I do and have done.....

Maybe I should start asking everyone else's life stories but I'll decide to insult them and call them liars, see how they like it..........

..... if you all need to know my life story

No, not really. I was just interested in seeing any race photographs from the weekend and other meetings that's all.

Not wishing to speak on behalf of other members, but I can safely say no one on here is remotely interested in your 'life story'.

You've already told me all I needed to know.

Damnit man. Another racist statement. Racism is a crime. Guess Rossi fans have 100 % criminal dna too.

It isn't racist.
It's just stupid as .....

No wait. He's right. After Britannia stopped shipping in the 1860s, we shut the ports and just bred amongst ourselves

(Edit: for stupidly relying on predictive text)

I like Rossi. I don't like however the idea that people view him as the "greatest of all time" an incredible insult to great champions who raced at a time when grand prix motorcycle racing was a lot more dangerous and fatalities were a lot more common.

His popularity is overrated too, Barry Sheene was world famous too, only at a time when racing didn't get a lot of TV coverage and long before the MyFace and Twatter generation.

Great rider for sure, greatest ever? Not a chance, the GOAT is a mythical title bestowed upon him by a sycophantic hick and until we can send him back to the 60's and let him loose on a wet and windy Isle of Man on a rickety Honda you had to push start then it will remain that way.

That's a flawed comparison. You have no idea how riders during that era (60's) would fare on a modern GP machine. Being good on an old rickety Honda after you push started it, doesn't mean that rider has a skillset that would make him successful on today's bikes.

:( please share pictures you have as said before if we get along or not we all follow MotoGP and most would like a bit of behind the scenes action, I go to a race every year but never had more than Grandstand, just not in my budget.

Pro pics are all well and good but home taken are nicer :)

No, it means they have balls....and balls makes you quick on any bike.

Being quick requires a lot more than balls. There are many current Isle of Mann racers that suck at circuit racing. Their huge balls must be a hindrance when it comes to pushing a bike to the absolute limit around a circuit. Road racers balance speed with living to see another day. They're usually not pushing their bikes to the limit that top circuit racers do routinely. Different disciplines within the sport of motorcycle racing.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but there are some road racers who have transitioned to circuit racing effectively such as Alistair Seeley yet I can't think of one top circuit racer who has won any Isle of Man TT or other road race...

Of course it's a flawed comparison, just like if you transported a rider from the '60's to now and gave him an M1 with it's GPS guided traction control and fly-by-wire throttle, he's probably going to stand there shocked and wondering where he even begins.

I'm mocking the "greatest of all time" nonsense spouted by absolute muppets as it's a complete mythical status which can never be accurately judged. Being a success in Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing is generally more down to being in the right place at the right time rather than talent because every rider on that grid has talent in abundance and in each generation there is literally only a handful of bikes capable of winning races let alone championships. Rossi has 9 world championships because he had great machinery which allowed his talent to shine, the second he got on a bike that didn't do what he wanted to he was made to look rather second rate even though we all know he was/is a very talented motorcycle racer.
With Aprilia, Honda and Yamaha he was definitely in the right place at the right time, Ducati was the wrong place wrong time, that's not to say Eugene Laverty would be winning championships or even races if he was on a factory M1 but he'd have a much better chance and he sure as .... wouldn't be sitting in 22nd place in the championship with 9 points to his name.
