Cortese seals the inaugural moto3 championship with the race win. Celebrates with a #1 helmet.

Congratulations to kharraudin on his first podium.

Forgot who came third

Edit: it was Folger third.

Great three way battle for the win,

Congrats to Cortese on his WC, he has rode well.

Khairuddin rode a great race shame he rode a little wide on the last corner just to be pipped at the post but congrats on his first podium.

Folger tried to break early but was just outclassed by his competitors.....

good race, happy for khairuddin and great performance by cortese.would have liked to see khairuddin win in front of his home crowd but cortese wins the championship in style with a victory, folger again looking real good. if he wasn't so tall i'd put some money on him winning the next moto3 championship.watch out for this guy ,he'll clean up in moto2. you're heard it here first

so happy about todays result, the last 20 years have been pretty dire for german gp motorcycle racing and now we've got 2 world champs in 2 years with some very talented guys on their way up. oh and both championships were won against the spanish, unlikeable favorites. f-yeah

congrats sandro

Folger a very good rep in his day .yes deserved

..... carry on, no ride etc now look

What Bollocks

Well first moto3/125 race since Sepang 2008 WITHOUT a Spaniard on the podium... Two Germans and a Malaysian... Does this bode well for the multinational future of the sport?

I've missed the last two years at Sepang but was at the four before that and the crowds were about 25,000 to 35,000 people. Hearing 77,000 raging, mostly Malaysian and Indonesian fans drown out the noise of the bikes with their cheering for Khairuddin was a new and exhilarating experience!

Three years ago Khairuddin had never ridden a shifter bike... All his experience was with minimotos and auto scooters! Well done, son!

Just back home from Sepang, will post more later...

And not to forget a lot of Aussies. We have a good time here, a lot of beers and kicking...A good crowd and atmosphere. Next week in Phillips Island, can't wait to cheer for Stoner and the Malaysian again..

V5, if I remember correctly your are from the Highlands (if I mis-recall, I apologies!), did you make it out this year? From my reckoning the crowd was about 90% Malaysian and Indonesian. Another 8% Thai, Sinaporean, Korean and Chinese and other Asians. White faces were outnumbered almost 100 to 1. This was not the case six years ago.

Thanks for posting that, I was wondering about the make up of the crowd. Very interesting.

The Aussies sitted in the grandstand facing back straight. We all have a great time cheering for Casey and the local Malaysian boys. A great atmosphere with a lot of beers.

V5... were you near the big yellow inflatable roo? I might've seen you and not known!
