LeMans 2013 Race Thread

Not sure whether you're a bigot, but you sure are a whiney little thing, with constant mentions of Stoner to boot. Projection?

You figured me out. Yes its true. I am a bigot. I wish that island full of criminals and bums would sink. I deal with them everyday. They are loud and obnoxious. They have an international reputation of being rude and callous. They only care for themselves. Their an embarassment but dont even know it. They tell everyone things are better where their from and everything we do is done the wrong way. They all wear too much jewelry and too much cologne. And their accent. God! who can understand that gobbly goo. Everyone hates them and wishes they would go away but they keep coming. Those ....... New Yorkers are the worst!!

What... because there's so many Jews here? :fishing: Seriously, you bite every time. So monotonously predictable. Right now, I'm keeping an eye on the second hand of my watch waiting for you to make the next sophomoric .... joke. Tic Tic Tic...

Been out of town.  (Thanks Kesh for the checking up, I could have been dead and you would have been the only one other than BJC to give a crap in my absence).

Watched race, first impressions:  Pedro, the second most impressive ride I've ever seen from him.  Well done.  Dovi, the most impressive ride I have ever seen from him. Well done. Cal, the second most impressive ride I've seen from him. Well done. Marc, good recovery after .... start. Well done. Nicky, well done not to be reverse torpedoed by VR. ( I guess its better to crash than be humiliated by being overtaken by your own GP<strike>12</strike>13) (Btw, I still haven't seen the lower category races, so I'm still staying away from the forum.  And God only knows when I'll have the time).

Haven't read all the dribble, but I can already imagine.  Krops didn't see the other two riders on the podium and only saw Marcy, who he swears won the race.  BJC probably quoting wiki again, MA swearing Stoner will return to GP, right Franky?  Nino, after a brief appearance  in Qatar thread is again considering suicide.  Oh and the Brits probably demanding Cal get factory support immediately, ha!

Meanwhile, Johnny has been reading The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People, and that other book...I can't remember the name at the moment.  While on transition during my travels, I had an opportunity to meet up with Knockdown.  I brought him a Tee-shirt. (I .... you not, in return, he got me an encounter with local police, looks like they share similar affections to ya'll, and had it not been for JK's legendary charm, I might have been let off with a warning...instead they gave me a souvenir).   It really doesn't begin to describe him as I know all of you love the guy.  But I just didn't want to show up empty handed.

Thats because you only saw me from behind

<span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica;font-size:12px;text-align:left; It was great seeing Jumkie again. So very generous of him to come with gifts and hand. My sociopaths anonymous class got a great kick out of the T-shirt and wanted to know where they could get one.

<span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica;font-size:12px;text-align:left;I was able to show Jumkie all the places in Miami that tourists aren't usually  privy to, like the spot where the hobo got his face chewed off by zombie, and where you can get a ......., a crack rock and a gun, all for under $100. I was going to take him to Miami Beach but there are just too many<span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica;font-size:12px;text-align:left; Jews

<span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica;font-size:12px;text-align:left;We had a nice chat with  a friendly police officer about dangerous drivers. I tried to get this nice officer  into giving Jumkie a  chauffeured   tour of downtown Miami and the inside of the police station, but Jumkie politely  declined despite my repeated attempts to convince the officer that he should make Jumkie take the tour
<span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica;font-size:12px;text-align:left;The  officer was kind enough  to teach Jumkie the traffic regulatory system we have in  Miami. Its an amazingly complex set of rules that govern and direct our driving. The officer was very curious as to why LA doesnt have the same system.
<span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica;font-size:12px;text-align:left;I admit I am a little ashamed that I let Jumkies drive around and without explaining this system to him. I was a poor host. It's not hard to see that someone coming from another town could easily be confused by those odd, hanging, red, yellow and green lights that adorn our intersections. They can easily be mistaken for christmas decorations.
<span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica;font-size:12px;text-align:left;While we were together we discussed all the good will that has come out of forum meet ups.  We argue and insult each other but in the end when were together we are the best of friends. We lamented that noone else from the forum was able to be there having a great time especially our British mates who have been so thoughtful generous to us Yanks.   So in the spirit of goodwill and long distance friendship  we created a special gift to let our English friends know we we love them and are always thinking of them

Most memorably Rainey, who described a particular race at Suzuka from the perspective as an observer - looking down on himself - watching himself ride.

I suspect a similar phenomena explains Barry's transcendent cornering technique; being able to slide the bike through 'out of' body position alone.

Which Barry said that!!?? Sounds like only part of what I say so I'm assuming its not me based on the difference in technique which you have outlined.

Though I have to admit this "other Barry"'s technique is far better than your analysis of GP corner taking as:

approach the corner with caution, being sure nobody is approaching from a side street.

turn on the indicator which accords with the direction you wish to take.

Pull the clutch in then change down several gears, dumping the clutch whilst simultaneously depressing the back brake pedal till the rear tyre is skidding.

Hope that the rear end is hanging out the correct way to look good for nigel who is waiting at the intersection with a bottle of woods and his Nokia 3110 video recording device.

Collect nigel and the contents of the bottle of woods as you sail through the corner of Pudney lane and Whithington-Smyth Way.

Go home stinking of Woods and armed with your "video" of how to take a "mingin" race corner ........ which there after applies to every corner in the world.

Be a hero to all the local "lads" as you shout "Wock an Woll" and show them what you learned at the Ron Haslam School of Riding Pommy Style.

Get real drunky/druggy/prescriptiony ..........

Been a bit strange in the uk in the last couple of days, nice to see you are thinking of us.

Hey Deal

Glad to see you will be out at Donington this weekend scouting talent. Let me give you a tip

Be on the lookout for a dirty blonde bloke about 5'10" tall that goes by the name of Willski. Dude has mad talent. He always goes the distance on the same rubber. He has no problem keeping it upright. He frequently runs deep but always pulls it out. Noone can back it in like he does.

Hes world class materiel.

Check out how far back Bradley Smith is going into turn 1. Last place.  Aleix Espargaro nearly makes it into 3rd place at the start. That bike must be really good. Hope that Aprilia gets the pneumatic valve motor going soon.

Where did they finish up?

End of lap 1, Espargaro was in 12th, Smith in 16th. 'That bike must be really good' can't be determined from his position at the first corner.

Lol Goes the distance on the same rubber etc.. I had a good 30 second laugh there.. Hifive
