<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Well the Ducati obviously has no advantage at this circuit ()next one in 13th) and the form would suggest he is at a disadvantage to the others, particularly yamaha.
Jeezz, how many rider do you need among the top three before the "bike" has an advantage?
And what kind of rider do you need up there to prove that?
A thrown-away that just came back from a mid pack result in WSB on a customer bike
A just become father that rode that thing in a way that fooled us too think it's a beast, and has been away from 250 so long that he can't even remember?
A gridfiller on a customer bike?
The only one among those that can do any thing is Barros who disapeard as the q-tires came on, but he did pretty well before that, actually much better than Rossi did so don't rule him out to disprove your point. The two others are hardly worth mentioning in their curent form and doesn't prove .... about the bikes ability.
Casey doesn't need a huge advantage when his two main competitors are in serious troubble. He is a better rider than most there and has a bike that works beautifull in the corners and propell out of them as a rocket.
Le mans doesn't have long straights, but it got a few of them, it's a stop and go track. Despite being one of the shortest it has one of the biggest differences between the classes. That should tell you that power counts, and power is what ducati have more of than the others.
In other words, he has the best package for that track and is a good enough rider to take advantage of it. He did a 1:44.7 on a tire he'd allready done 20 laps on. Rossi could hardly get down to 1:45.3 before the qualifiers came on.
What we've seen so far has been Yamahas being quick in practise and quicker in qualifying, but still being beaten by Stoner in the race. Now he's just a fraction slower than Edwards that hardly any but me have faith in to even to make the podium and he is well in front of Rossi. As it is right now and it becomes a dry race I'd say he got the best starting point in this season. His closest competitor will probably be Hopper.
But then again, if it rains it's whole new game.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Good quali what a last sector by Edwards!
Not bad but nothing spectacular. I checked and it was stoner who had a bad last sector, actually he looks quite bad there all through the session.
