Le Mans / Catalunya Road Trip

Hi, new here so apologies if this is the wrong topic or place

I'm thinking ahead (likely 2020 tbh but possibly 2019) of a road trip to take in both the Le Mans and Catalunya GP; if the calendar stays as-is next year these are likely to be mid-May and mid-June. Taking a caravan from Cherbourg ferry to Loire / Le Mans , staying in Dordogne for a couple of weeks, then to Costa Brava / Catalunya and to the Santander ferry home.

Question is - has anyone done anything similar or has any advice on attending either or both of these circuits, esp for camp sites nearby. I'd prefer to stay on a normal camping site close (ie < 80km away) if possible rather than a race site but I'm open to race sites too. Also any advice on travelling to both these circuits on race day ?

Would never go back to le mans. Treated like a piece of ..... Even got my energy drink taken of me. £9 for a beer. And the view is horrendous!

Not the first time I've heard bad things about Le Mans to be fair.

I've been to LeMans a few times, twice for motogp. Never had a problem there, but then I was a guest of Red Bull both times, good food, free drinks, nice seats and a driver at the end of the day

I have had a trip to Austin once but went by plane. A Dutch organisation called Sporttravel arranged it for me and I was very amused. Next year I will also do a road trip myself but I am not sure which GP I am going to. Can you recommend a GP which also has nice area's in the surrounding to drive around?
