listen motoGPod...

what i want to know is why the wierd combination of cost cutting measures... if they wanted to do a proper job then they could have cut cost while making racing slightly closer/more impressive to watch by removing the most complex parts of the TC system.

where any engineers in on this decission???? a single tire manufacturer seemed good but this lastest doesnt make sense... i guess the donkeys in suits made these decissions....welcome to the motogp zoo.

i dont think any of the guys know how the programming works... so who desides what is complex and what is not? i think the whole TC is complex...

uuummmm the engineer's who work with these systems at every race/test

not some fools wearing suit's....

those engineers arent very trustworthy to deside what is best...

ok say i work for bmw on the design team.....i want to design a new model who do i ask ?

1. the other half of my design team and engineers ?

2. my wife at home ?

3. or shall i just ask the office staff who usually deal with paperwork ?

i know which i would choose but motogp zoo aint got a clue.

And the suits are Dorna are?

It's not as if Dorna would only go to Honda and ask what to do (well maybe they would, it is Dorna after all). What should have been done is a panel of engineers from each manufacturer should have been put together so they could agree on measures that cut cost while not putting anyone in an advantageous or disadvantageous situation. But those lousy engineers don't know the first thing about marketing, they couldn't possibly make a good decision...

i dont think that the engineers will shoot themselves in their knees by killing their own technology???
im sure they know what's needing to be done to get rid of the complex stuff, but i dont think they want to rid of it, so question is: will they be honest and get rid of it, knowing it will slow them down...

You have to put 2 and 2 together. MotoGP has no semi-automatic gearboxes. Obviously, the technology is available, but the benefits are probably pretty small. I can almost guarantee that the MSMA have agreed to ban semi-auto and auto clutch actuation for the good for the sport.

How is launch control different than a semi-auto or auto gearbox? If LC controls clutch modulation, it isn't any different than an auto gearbox except that it is turned off.

It is a very small jump from LC to semi-automatic gearboxes. In my opinion electronic transmissions would hurt the spectacle of the sport and they are certainly more expensive than slipper clutches and simple algorithms for engine braking.

I think LC was a loophole in the ban on auto gearboxes and the MSMA and DORNA felt it was going to serve as a segue for undesirable future developments.

Very good point.
