So what happens to these riders that have signed with other teams, for the remainder of their terms with their current rides....

Take Hayden, does HRC continue to throw new parts at him to test, without telling him? Is he a test donkey for the rest of the year? Or do they slam the R&D door shut on him and just prep the same bike every wkd for him...food for thought.

He's going to be a mule.

I've heard the customer Honda will have pneumatic valves. Somebody has a lot of work to do if they want to put the pneumatic engine in 4+ bikes.

Also makes you wonder if Ducati will pick his brain next year on everything he knows about the pneumo powerplant. I wonder how just how much teams reveal to their riders tech wise.

I'm sure Capirossi went through a thorough debriefing. Hayden is a store room of Honda knowledge since he has tested all their stuff for years.

Be simple about the thought process here.If you want to win and get the advantage unfair or not. Plus you just signed a new contract that has no ties to the old company. Guess who is going to have diarehha of the mouth. HMMMM?

doesnt matter really, because of 2 major factors...

1. what use would pneumo info be to a team that runs a desmo motor? and looks likely to keep running said motor for a while yet.

2. what use would chassis info be from a team that uses an aluminium frame/chassis designed to run michelins to a team that uses a steel trellis chassis and is now going to a carbon fibre chassis that runs bridgestones?

hayden might be able to offer some intel on team strategy and anti-dani tactics, but for the most part, all the info ducati could use they probably have already.

Lol, They can tell everyting and it wouldn't matter at all, unless Hayden has a doctorate specialized in pnumo valves. It's not like pnumo valves are anything new, while the details of hondas patent pending inovations are way to complicated to explain anyway. Finally, Ducati are having a huge success with their desmo valves so only a ban could stop them from continuing that path.

i dont think honda actually tell the riders to much about the parts on the bike anyway. remember when dani and nicky first rode the 07 rc212v. honda didnt even tell them what type of engine it was, they actually covered the bike so they couldn't see it, honda think its all due to the bike and not the rider when things go well. i dont think they will deliberately make nickys bike slower because he is going but i bet garage access will be restricted at certain times. as for the other teams who knows but they are still wanting points in the constructors championship

Interesting question. I think he will do what he has been doing, testing .... for Dani. Nothing new.

I thought about it more, I could see HRC having Hayden test components for the rest of the year. Its well known that his riding style isn't close to Pedros', so why would they have him continue to refine the handling of the chassis?

As a test donkey, they'll put parts on the bike to check for reliability, endurance. I think you'll see some DNF's, puffs of smoke from the engine, long walks back to the paddock for Hayden. Hopefully he can dream about that nice cherry red scoot he'll pilot next year.

Hopefully Nicky won't have to wear that fugly looking barcode hat Melandri sportin' right now.

Shinya is testing the bike with Bridgestone’s and Dani is testing it with Michelins plain and simple – the championship is lost and third looks about it for them so test from now to season finish. Nicki is testing Michelins worst tyres and that’s all he’ll get from now to the end.

The hat I’ve never worked out, did he want to look like Mussolini or something? Still better than that bloody disgraceful thing CV wears.
