Anyone else notice the way he picked it up? He wasn't holding the clutch in.

That Rossi was having to do that whilst trying to pick up the Yam at Assen meant that he needed outside help.

I presume that the duke has some kind of idle system to stop the bike stalling when dropped.

Not suggesting that this is unfair in any way, just interesting.

Maybe the other manufacturers should consider it as it certainly helped Stoner not to have to wait for a fat mercan marshall to waddle over and think about helping him get it back rubber side down.

that is interesting actually. maybe it popped into neutral when it fell over? maybe it was in second, and when it hit the ground it shifted it up into neutral (presuming it is GP shift). ...... a some luck right there if that's the case!

& I have a feeling I'm going to be watching that race over & over again.

For the life of me it doesn't strike me as brutal, not like some other races, Brno 2006 in particular. I just didn't get that impression, intense? yes, close? yes, over the limit? no.

Needs a re-watchin', & that ain't no bad thing.

Was that the talent that made him dump it in the first place at walking pace, or the talent that made him go into the turn way to hot

Edit: Sorry about that, it was unnesesaery. After all, we (rossi fans) talked about his recovery at Assen and found that a pretty good performance as well.

Stoner were quick to pick up his bike and join the race, good job.

I'm pretty sure his hand went on the clutch first thing he got back to it.

It was impressive ..... but what showed me he was still going to give it a serious go was the way he walked the thing out of the gravel and on the fly mounted it and got going as smooth as.

I think the fact he was pissed gave him the strength to lift the bike so well.

Again if you compared it to Rossi's Assen crash where he had to get help to lift it, I think the difference was the emotional mindset of the rider at the time.

Assen ...... Rossi was more feeling a bit sheepish after both mesing up so early as well as taking out an innocent ( well as innocent as De Puniet can ever be declared
<
<
). Feeling sheepish tends to mess up your coordination as well as your muscle power.

Laguna ... Stoner already had the ..... .... it didn't matter with whom but he most certainly did not seem to be feeling sheepish

I'd like to declare and name a term I would use to describe such posts as above .....

I'd like to refer to them as "Jizzposts" ........

they are characterised by an obvious sense of massive amounts of pre-wanking and then after a huge build up ....... seem to be posted in mindless euphoria at the very moment of .... well thats why the name Jizzpost comes from

PS. Especially the bit about me!! ..... I'm so offended

I was mainly bantering. As you point out stoner put the bike down at low speed while valentino ended up some distance away from his bike at assen and probably also needed to check his various body parts were still attached.

The one thing Stoner didn't do...complain to anyone other than Valentino (who brushed it off).

When Sete or his team complained over the grid sweeping incident it was the worst thing to happen to racing. Give Casey some points for keeping this in perspective. Even his greatest fans think he should have remained quite but he didn't take his complaint to anyone in officialdom.

Casey thought it was unfair and had a whinge, everybody in racing whinges (e.g. Valentino and his team last year/Michelin etc.etc.)

Rossi bounced back and dismissed this in his rather cavalier fashion “it was just racing” and he was ever so right.

No one ever mentioned disqualification...

Keep it in perspective

I think Casey is spending 4 weeks bottling it up and reflecting on it and in 4 weeks time at Brno he is going to come out swinging
