Reports from www.superbikeplanet.com suggest that former MotoGP rider and AMA champion Kurtis Roberts will compete for a yet to be named Honda World Superbike team at the Brands Hatch round. It is not yet known whether the youngest of the Roberts racing clan will race the rest of the season or if it is solely a one off ride. This will mark the third life saver Honda has offerred the Roberts family after supplying RC211V powerplants to Kenny Senior's team and Kenny Junior riding bikes with said motors. Go Kurtis!

Is it just me or has Kurtis grown a bit of a beer gut to work off before Brands?

He's put on a few pounds but what do you expect? The guy hasn't ridden a bike in anger since May and before that it was November riding the GSV-R and before that it was the closing rounds of the 2005 AMA Superbike season. Oh, and I was wrong. He has replaced Max Neukirchner at Pedercini Ducati. Pedercini and Neukirchner split after Neukirchner only scored nine points this season after being a regular podium contender in 2005 aboard the Klaffi Honda. Roberts will ride the 999RS at Brands and possibly the remainder of the year if he is remotely competitive.

I'm really not a fan of that over rated whiner but he does have some talent and be interesting to see how he does.

he is a bitcher is'nt he.

He certainly is. And I sit here and wonder why he doesn't have a ride, it doesn't help when you spend an entire season fumbling around 13th place in the AMA SBK class on a package that took race wins the season before (Erion Honda) and saying that the bike is .......

Even though it was.

And he`s an ugly bugger.... in my personal opinion. Looks more suited to being an extra from Braveheart than a SBK rider. But people in glass houses, I guess

I don't know about an extra for Braveheart but how about Tour de France winner Floyd Landis look a like.

I saw pics of him at a recent SBK round and he had a beer gut, beard and long hair. Paint his face blue, give him a scottish skirt thingy and an axe and let him run free on in the scottish highlands.... until some farmer shoots him

Sounds like he had a rather unimpressive first outing. Regularly three seconds off the pace and retired after eight laps in race one, yet to see results of race two.
