Kawasaki Approves 3rd bike

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Andy Roo @ Oct 5 2008, 11:30 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I don't blame them - being French - New Zealand has won more wars in France than the French.

Actually watching Hopper and Westy today convinced me that all they have to do is get a very average superbike at a squillionth of the cost and they can field a whole ....... platoon of bikes that lap as slowly as those green nightmares. I actually feel sorry for the pair of them.

And next year they have Marco. He is getting a lot of training in at riding at Team Green pace.

OMG that was funny!

I saw that a couple of years ago and the funniest part was where it asks,Did you mean French Military Defeats.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Aspar's preferred option is Spanish veteran Alex Debon, who is currently campaigning the Lotus Aprilia in the 250 class. Debon would be on development duty, helping to get the bike competitive enough for 2010, when Aspar hopes to bring Alvaro Bautista into MotoGP.

I found this statement interesting. It seems Aspar thinks he will be able to convince Bautista to ride for him on the Kawa in '10? I just don't see Bautista, given he does well next year, wanting to ride the big green career killer.

I read an article on motogpmatters regarding Aspar and the third Kawasaki. Well it seems as though Kawasaki doesn't want to win at all since they are trying to make Aspar put Nakano on the 3rd bike. Aspar said in an interview that it isn't possible to have him on the team since the telecom sponsor he wants to bring in wants a Spanish rider. Token Japanese wouldn't cut it I guess.

Kawasaki are intentionally taking a big step backwards next year, I think.

The bike they built this season has nearly killed Anthony West and John Hopkins because the back end of the bike is loose beyond all reasonable amount. I think Kawasaki realized someone was going to get killed at PI if they didn't make a change. It appeared as though they brought out the old 2007 chassis.

Last year Kawasaki actually had a very good bike, and by many accounts, it was the fastest accelerating bike on the grid. However, it couldn't go around corners.

If they can make some minor adjustments next season (with the help of an experienced Kawasaki rider), they will actually have a very good bike. Probably better than Suzuki actually.

It's totally up to Kawasaki who rides the bike. Aspar will run it with Nakano if they lease him the bike for nearly free and agree to pay Shinya.

IMO, Shinya's enineering background, MotoGP/Honda experience, native tongue, and incredible consistency would be good for both Aspar and Kwak if it only lasts one year.

They'd have to ignore input from Hopkins and Meladri though. It's clear they cant even develop an erection.

Laughed and laughed and laughed.

Watching Marco ride his Honda CB250 dressed up as a Duc GP8 on Sunday was awesome. Man he can get some speed from an air cooled 250.

Kawasaki are wallaby ted's brother

any news concerning nakano guys?

maaan i need to know!!!

when will the riders for the kawas be named???

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SuperShinya56 @ Oct 6 2008, 09:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Back on topic. Can anyone confirm the rumor that Shinya Nakano will be on the 3rd Kawasaki?

I think SUPERSHITTY will be on test rider duties from now on

Maybe they figure that if they can get enough bikes on the track then they can form some sort of rolling roadblock that no-one can get past?

This would be used in qualify to knacker everyone else's qualifying laps to ensure that the kwaks are mid grid. The three of them ride around three abreast weaving (like a ship avoiding a submarine) preventing anyone overtaking - bingo they can probably get all three riders inside the top ten. It's either that or giving them billy clubs to knock other riders off!

This is a belter of a post, I didn't know Aussies did humour, I'm impressed!

I think the best thing Kawasaki can do is ignore anything Melandri says and hope that Hopper gets an offer to start a gardening business, or maybe a paper round.

Seriously though, Kawasaki aren't going to win a world title next year. I think your strategy would be a good one.

This sport is all about marketing. Kawasaki need to put the screamer engine in the ZX-RR. Then they need to encourage their riders to slam about 4 or 5 Monster Energy drinks before each race and ride like hooligans when the lights go out.

3 bikes > 1 bike

Neon green hooligan bikes? Talk about good PR. Ezy does want ratings to go up, right?

YEah even if Kawi wants to field a 3rd bike Nakano can still test another one somewhere like autotopolis I think the track is that Kawi bought. I can't see Shitya keeping his ride or even staying in MOTO GP. HE needs to go just like Sylvain, Depoopya, even west I suppose. If japan needs an indigenious rider they could find someone with a bit more youth and energy to possibly even get a podium.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gsfan @ Oct 10 2008, 09:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Means one more lime green backmarker.

Actually, Ive been looking at what the Kawasaki achieved before they spent all thier money on toothpaste. At the start of last year the Kawa was quite a rated bike, once hopeless joined the team, it has gone from bad to ...... And everyone blames the bike and Kawasaki!!!!!!

The guy couldnt win a race on a bike that Vermy could, sorry it doesnt matter a .... how consistant he was last year, he cannot win a race.

Sack the ....... ..... and spend money on the bike and a rider who can develop something other than a cold. His missus is probably ...... fed up of being married to a loser, thats probably where the problems with him making it to practice started.
