Kawasaki Approves 3rd bike

Haven't heard the fat lady sing quite yet. Got all my fingers and toes crossed that the spec tire fails. Bloody cherrypickers...

It would be quite a surprise if Ezy did the honourable thing and allowed Michelin back in

I ain't holding my breath waiting though...

I don't really understand why they bother running the first 2 bikes, let alone a third.

If I were kawasaki heavy industries I would get aspar or whoever to run the bike independent of the factory team but with free access to whatever bits were available; lack of support by the factory team would seem unlikely to be deleterious on current form.

EDIT
They could of course pull a reverse on ezy and tell him the 3rd bike's participation is tied to the putative michelin deal; even ezy must know there is a desperate need for a bigger grid.

Supposedly Ducati was willing and Ezpeleta was wanting 40% of the field to commit to Michelin. The rumored 3rd Kawasaki was going to put them over the top but they were waiting on word from KHI.
Will they reconsider or is the tire deal done.

I don't know what to make of this mess anymore.

It seems like Rossi will easily walk off with another title if they don't go to a control tire. He'd be the only title contender with 1 full season on his tires

It seems like Suzuki would be ridiculously good as well, since they also know they're way around the Bridgestones.

Kawasaki are just awful and I don't think Stoner will like having a Michelin front tire again.

Then again, it seemed to me that Dorna already tried a 2 manufacturer control tire earlier this season and Stoner looked awful? Maybe that's why Ducati seem interested to change? I remember Pedrosa doing pretty well in the earlier rounds.

Lorenzo was pretty quick at the beginning of the season, as well. Casey was very fast on a satellite Honda in practice, but reckoned he was a victim of the Michellin pecking order, so eneded up with worse tyres for the race. That's his camps fear ATM, I think. That development of the Bridgestones will be directed to what Rossi wants, which may not suite others.

I wonder who Kwaka have in mind to ride the 3rd bike.

THat's bloody clever, I hope Kawasaki read this and pulls that one on. Are you at the race tomorrow?

Now that Rossi and Pedro and pretty much the whole Japanese contingent have left Michelin Nicki and Casey start on Ross and Pedro’s tyres.

For Nicky it is a chance to serve the Frenchman’s favourite cold dish. REVENGE.

And Casey as well

Andy what if Michelin get the Control Tyre Deal? Its not like they are knew to the sport, trying to get in Moto Gp, they have been around alot longer and have alot more Championships then Bridgestone do

I love watching Hayden getting on it at P.I! Can't wait to see him on the Ducati there next year!

What a lap from Stoner! It wasn't pretty, but it was very quick.

The curse of being #1 has fallen on Vale. He is no chance of winning tomorrow! Good to see that he wasn't hurt.

So how much do you wanna bet Rossi has another tile at the end of the year next year. This .... would barely stop even if ROssi retires.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jumkie @ Oct 4 2008, 10:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Bingo!

Right now i feel Ducati have the biggest advantage with Bridgestone due to their long standing relationship, Rossi has growing influence there.

As for the rest i dunno... with a single tyre supplier they will have to adapt to making a generic tyre that suits a general style.

If they consult Rossi or Stoner... are the lap times really gonna come down which is one of Epz's goals.

All the subtext said "fait accompli to Bridgestone"

I don't blame them - being French - New Zealand has won more wars in France than the French.

Actually watching Hopper and Westy today convinced me that all they have to do is get a very average superbike at a squillionth of the cost and they can field a whole ....... platoon of bikes that lap as slowly as those green nightmares. I actually feel sorry for the pair of them.

And next year they have Marco. He is getting a lot of training in at riding at Team Green pace.
