John Hopkins

They are both great riders...... but they can't walk on water.

seems to me that Casey was doing that on the ducati for the last 3 or 4 years

I really wana see Hopper on a factory spec Honda.. he'd be making CS cry in no time..

The obvious MotoGP choice would be a return to Rizla Suzuki, but the factory's Japanese bosses are yet to confirm their 2012 plans and Hopkins - also linked to LCR Honda - warned that he can't wait forever.

"I'd like to continue the relationship with Suzuki, but everything is still a bit unknown with their MotoGP plans," he said. "Paul has said that everything [at Suzuki] is still on hold and I'm not going to let anything slip through my fingers by having to wait too long.

"This entire year for me has been about trying to lock-up the British Superbike Championship, so I'm not concentrating on anything else until I finish that. Then, on Sunday night, I'll start trying to make a decision."

Should a 2012 MotoGP ride prove impossible, Hopkins has 'plenty' of World Superbike options.

Bring it on. He might not beat stoner, but I would love to see hopper on a factory honda; he would be good to watch even on a suzuki, and might be surprisingly competitive on that bike, particularly if he is less distracted than in his previous incarnation.

I know this will irk michaelm, but the stressed airbox design of the Ducati wasn't used 2007-2008, so Stoner had some pretty firm earth to walk on the first couple of years of Ducati's 800.

That said, his ability to win races in 2009-2010 is impressive when you see how badly Rossi is struggling.

Not really, my attitude is a carry-over from discussions at the time about the bike that rode itself, the bike having such an advantage that stoner was largely uninvolved in its success, that his title didn't really count due to a bike advantage (as opposed to every other championship winner in history who may have had some bike advantage
<
) etc. I think the bike was invincible against the 2007 opposition if you could ride it, not a minor caveat as I keep saying, and still involved some unique synergy with stoner, and he still rode the bike in a way that nobody else has yet duplicated. The trellis frame bike was a poor handling unwieldy bike that wouldn't turn midcorner like the current bike but had a straightline advantage he was able to employ to compensate for the bike's flaws; it also did not appear to have the front end instability of the 2010 and 2011 bikes. I have said before that there is nothing rossi could do on a michelin shod 2007 yamaha, no matter how well he rode, to beat stoner. The question is whether he could have replicated what stoner did on the 2007 ducati.

So Hopkins says he will be in the World Championship next year, one way or the other. He says he has offers in WSBK and he needs Denning to let him know something, preferably this weekend about what Suzuki is going to do in GP next year. The way he is talking, if Suzuki is in GP, he will be also. Does that mean Suzuki would run 2 bikes, or shitcan Bautista.

When the decision was made to let them stay in gp this year with only one bike it was with the stipulation that they would run two bikes in 2012. I don't know if they'll let suzuki slide again, I hope they do if it's the only way they can stay. I do need to go check how they are doing as a company with the economic down turn. I was told not to be surprised if one of the big four from japan doesn't survive and I'm thinking that means Suzuki or Kawasaki will not make it

. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the improvements to the gsvr mean we'll be seeing them next year. Hope we don't have to wait for the end of season test to find out.

When you say not make it, do you mean in racing, or as a company.Im assuming you mean as a company since Kawasaki is already dead in GP. I dont think you will see any off them just quit making motorcycles, even though they could and survive . Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki are very diversified corporations

BSB Stream should be up

WUP

Hopper sat it out i think

Byrne was fastest and binned it he and bike were ok

wup

Byrne Bridewell Linfoot, Brookes, Hill, and Rutter

poor john, lost the title in BSB for just 0,006 s. the race was great, but the last 3 laps were unbelievable. in BSS also the title was disputed in last race. the best national championship, no doubt.

The Devil hates Hopkins. I hate the Devil.

SOOOOO, you believe in a red guy with horns and a pitchfork, and not the other.?

Hopper had his chance. Even with the technical glitch, he started the last race with the championship lead. He controlled his own destiny.
