It appears WSBK fans here in the states are screwed

Just completed my chat with Time Warner and it seems I'm good to go, beIN Sports is not being dropped.  I just added the Sports Pack which adds a few other sports channels to my current service for $8.99 a month.

Hell yea, bring on WSBK!!!!

L8Breaker,

Time Warner cancelled Current TV, not BeIN Sport. Both are owned by Al Jazeera, but one is political coverage and the other is just sports. Do you think Time Warner is stupid and would cancel BeIN Sport where you can see Messi and Ronaldo in La Liga and have coverage of Italy's Seria A and France's Ligue 1? That brings in a lot of money to Time Warner regardless of who owns BeIN Sport. In actuality, Current TV was not cancelled for political reasons by Time Warner, they just want to re-negotiate a more lucrative deal with Al Jazeera than they had with Al .... once the new revamped Current TV appears once Al Jazeera changes it. After all, apparently Time Warner already owns a piece of BeIN Sport in partnership with Al Jazeera. It seems in the world of media, money talks and politics walks.

I just want to watch WSBK, and now I can. Five minutes after I updated my services I was watching BeIN Sports and I'm currently watching the WSBK 2013 Preview.

dube's I just wanted to verify that beIN Sport would be sticking around before purchasing the Sport Pass.  I've got some other sports channels now as well including Fuel.  Unfortunately since Dana White purchased Fuel it only shows UFC content.

Fuel will be going the way of Speed and be no more when Fox changes to an all sports format for both networks. Speed will be Fox Sports Network and Fuel will become Fox Sports Network 2 supposedly this summer. By the way, it has just been announced by Roadracing World that Dorna has re-signed with Speed to continue MotoGP coverage for 2013. Hopefully, if Speed changes format this summer, as reported by Reuters, Fox will finish the 2013 season on their new sports network-if the change happens this summer.

By the way, BeIN Sport's WSBK coverage of Saturday's Philip Island race has been changed to start at 7:30PM (EST) according to Roadracing World and for those who don't get BeIN Sport, the network's website will offer a free stream on the site beginning the same time. According to Roadracing World, you won't have to have a cable or dish subscription to access this coverage, everyone will be able to see it on their site. But I'm assuming this is a one time only offering to promote BeIN's 2013 WSBK coverage.

Dubey, Jesus man. Great info. Thanx. Stick around buddy. We need another media guru like Pigeon around here. Do u work for BeIN?

Welcome aboard dube's...I see your in the LA area, you and Jumkie cover a lot of the same ground.  If you start hanging with Jum's you wont be shut in long, nor sober a whole lot....lol!

Guys, I just read a little article on the WSBK's website about there deal with BeIN. Apparently all of the races will be live streamed on their website-I do not know if future events will be available if your cable provider doesn't carry BeIN. However, what was more interesting was that the WSBK site said that all Supersport races would be streamed live also on the website. Very cool. Now my question is for anyone that knows the format for race day in WSBK. Do they run Supersport between the two Superbike races on race day? If so, with 5 hrs and 45 mins of coverage Saturday, does this mean we could possibly see the Supersport race, too. If so, I'm soooo lovin' BeIN Sport right now. Take that Speed!

Looks like DirecTV does carry the channel.  Just checked on the D-TV website.  But here is the catch.  Its only offered in their "Premier" package, which is 125 ....... bucks.

But I figured out a work around.  There are "language" settings for the packages.  Turns out, if you switch to the "Spanish" language packages, you can get this beIN channel for as little as 35 bucks. But this would be a very basic package.  So, being the tenacious little cuss I am, I figured out that if you pick the "Mas Ultra" package under the "Spanish TV" packages, you still get all your favorite 'English' channels, the extra 'Spanish' channels you may or may not watch, who cares, but you still get the beIN channel.

And there you go, you can watch WSBK, in English, for the prices of 65 bucks.

Correction.   I've been duped.  Turns out, even if you try a work around by switching to the Spanish programming, you still will NOT get the beIN channel that carries WSBK.  It seems there is a separate programming for the Spanish bundles.  The channel is still in English but its a whole other set of programming, basically all soccer.

But, it turns out DirecTV offers a simple "sport package" for $12.99  that you can add to your current programming bundle.

Thanks Mick. Then if we are to believe the WSBK homesite, we will be seeing the Supersport race tonight as well! Does anyone miss Speed's WSBK coverage?

Brotha, SpeedTV was barely tolerated.  I can't think of one person who actually liked it.  Btw, what city are you from here in SoCal.  I'm from Covina.

Jumkie, I live in Los Angeles, Leimert Park in the Crenshaw district.

Did I mention 10:30am to 5pm here?

Every race all season?

You fuggin beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What great coverage from BeIN! Did anyone notice that there were NO COMMERCIALS during the race. Even covered the podium ceremony. Nice pre- race too. As to the live stream, they were a little late getting it up, but after about 7 minutes or so, all you had to do to access the stream was to click on the big SBK logo on the main page to activate it. I have a big smile after that coverage.
