How will Rossi handle Valencia race ?

The riders in front of Vale will open up like the parting of the red sea for him. He's on a far superior bike and none of them have the balls or political weight in the paddock to fight him or dare to be responsible for any form of delay. He'll make 10 places in the first lap and be up to 5th or 6th by the end of the second lap.

Then all the media and commentators will start the usual sycophancy about how amazing it is that he managed to fight his way through the crowd, they'll forget the reason why he was at the back and the whole world will be willing him to win against the nasty, arrogant, spoilt, whining, arrogant (just some of the descriptors that I've heard) Lorenzo.

They might even start talking about a film of his life before the chequered flag.
They already made two: Faster and Fastest.

Absolutely, spot on! Rossi basically got a few seconds penalty for what amounted to the extremely rare (I've never seen it) deliberate attempt to eliminate a rider off the track. In soccer you get red carded for less, what he did was like doping, cheated for an advantage, in a normal world you get banned and disgraced for ever. But this is Rossi, those 16 points in his championship tally were gained by a way tantamount to doping, illegally gain points. Actually worse than doping, because doping doesn't hurt anyone else or put others in harms way.

None of the points he gets at Valencia are legitimate.

It will be a rough day for him. Whatever the outcome, he'll be painted as the villain whilst Rossi will be 'Rocky Rossi' heroically portrayed as the underdog battling his way through the field of aggressors when in reality they'll be tripping over themselves to get out of his way.

I can already hear the endless apologists "What Rossi did was wrong but his performance in coming through the field cements him as the GOAT". It will be galling and sickening to listen to.

Nah, no way, if Rossi "wins" the title it will be much much worse than you describe. Every perversion of the sport has played out in less than one weeks time since last Thursday. You have underestimated the carnage if Rossi "wins."

Rossi will not risk his life or others on the track. Never has done that. And yes, it will be present on Valencia and I hope it will be a wet race :D

I pretty much agree, and given the length of his career he is fairly definitely the least dangerous gp bike rider there has ever been; when this was last canvassed several years ago I think there was 1 broken ankle which could be assessed to an accident caused by him, and there have been no injuries since to my knowledge.

I believe at times he has relied on (?exploited) assessment of both the skills and characters of others, however, and has proved to be correct obviously, cf Laguna Seca 2008. That there was not a high speed collision there was completely down to Casey Stoner, and not within Valentino's control. Do you think he would have played that game with Tony Elias?

This is one of many reasons I would like to have seen prime Valentino go up against the equally ruthless and aggressive Mick Doohan in his prime.

As Jums said. To me any result he gets in Valencia is invalid.

My old man made me laugh last night. He used to run a race team and said "If I was Lin Jarvis I'd have sacked Rossi the second he came back into the garage"

He asked Pedrosa after Aragon and Iannone after PI not to put hard battle on him. I bet he is making phone calls to fellow GP riders to pave him away at Valencia. I wonder who will obey. I hope Jack, Pol, and Cal will do their usual races.

Got a link? I want to read that.

Dr No, in case you are still having VPN issues this is the google translate from Moto3's link:

There have been three episodes this season, starring the championship leader, Valentino Rossi, backstage, no cameras, no microphones, denoting, finally, that the idol of masses of flesh and blood. So far it is only known a big mistake in his career, which he committed in the last race of the 2006 season , when the championship was played with Nicky Hayden in Valencia and fell to the ground without anyone to take out of their boxes as it happened Sunday.

He was not known weaknesses and foibles. Then came Marc Márquez, that guy does not want to Rossi, but mischievous smiles when compared with it, that that continues to beat records of Italian, that with only 22 years has already reached 50 victories. Rossi suffers not by pushing the Catalan young, or at least not suffer as much by the success of that as this is not called meta-or where it believes that of Tavullia- and interfere in its plans to seal his career, the best driver of all time, with one-tenth the 2015 crown.

Italy suffers because he escapes time, because too much about his rival, Jorge Lorenzo, and because they find the missing tenths him on the track, so it resorts to its usual weapons, which are not all on the road. And for this you need to deviate from its path the other pilots. And as they do, sees ghosts where none exist. So he faced Pedrosa, has managed to silence Iannone and Márquez has kicked. The tension felt with his own hands in Misano, where there was no or a pin, as their countrymen wanted to see him succeed and attend a year of his return. That was the first race of the season in which he fell off the podium. He accused the pressure and everything started to deteriorate since.

In Aragon, after losing a delicious mourning (for the viewer) with Pedrosa, who declined to give his arm twisted and tried to infinity over again and back, he had to settle for third place. Publicly acknowledged that fought just as well that a young wild boar -and thanked the afición- because to compete with Lorenzo, who won, was not the same race to finish second to third.

What happened in private is that they went to look for his box Pedrosa after the race to demand an explanation of why he had shown so hard to overtake that day. As if he was the only driver eligible to win a duel. Something similar to what was done with Marquez after the race at Phillip Island. Rossi went to the party that usually celebrates Honda on the island and demanded explanations from the world champion overtake stop him, get him away from Lorenzo (presumably intentionally, according to his theory) and also asked him why he wanted to win the Mallorcan World. The same theory then explain, as in Sepang, in a press conference that went around the world .

The Italian press: "It is too easy to blame"
Rossi: "I just wanted to give Marc a warning"

A Rossi irritates especially lately, even the fans. Although always gave the image of being one of the athletes that has many followers deal with, you feel that you decentralize at grands prix. So after a meeting of the security committee, as there is every Friday Grand Prix, made a proposal to the Executive Director of Dorna, Carmelo Ezpeleta: he wants the fans paddock closes with guest pass from six in the afternoon. There are circuits in which the presence of followers goes largely unnoticed; in others, as in Misano this year, for example, he had Rossists stationed at the door of hospitality Yamaha until after ten o'clock at night, waiting to see their idol through a crack. I could not even eat a ribeye quiet.

Sunday, Rossi finally lost the case to take to the track with Marquez kicked. But either has not realized or will not admit it, even if it took a while feels the pressure from Argentina, when he realized that he could fight for the World Cup. He creates seeking him tickle, something he always loved to do. "When there were fights like this, Valentino always said that the races were this now has changed his address. It's a bit contradictory. But he is playing the title, I have never been champion of MotoGP, so this is a time of I should learn, "said Pedrosa after the race.

Honest question for everyone who says the championship is invalid: if Jorge were to crash out and Vale ends up in say fifth place, do you think Vale would have deserved to win the championship?

absolutely ....... not.
i would have loved for him to win this one as a fan warming up again to him.
but he blew it BIG TIME.
he deserves to lose this one.
he doesn't represent anything i love about sports at the moment. which is a shame. because i'd love a different narrative for him

YES.

1. First of all the one penalty point that VR got for blocking JL at qualifying should be removed. This had zero impact on JL pole position and it is totally unfair that VR got the points.

2. Secondly, MM should be given 3 penalty points for deliberately blocking and hitting VR multiple times all through the race. If VR did fall, everyone would be cheering for MM.

Question:
Why are MM fans saying everything is done as a favor to VR? When Race Direction obviously only punished VR? MM got away scott free. And JL by screaming his head off at the qualifying made RD give VR a point.

Clearly JL and MM are the one making the decisions in their favor. So the favoritism is towards JL and MM. Not VR.

.... bro...do you realize you are on a probably the only GP forum where the amount of people who hate rossi (& boppers) outweigh the amount of people who support him???

and i'm sure all your questions have been answered somewhere on this forum within the past few days since you all appeared out of no where & are going psycho over this topic.

this is ....... exhausting.

Rules are rules.

Not once did MM HIT or even touch VR before the incident. If you can prove otherwise, please show us.

Question:

If you deem crashing out of a race 'getting away scott free' you have no idea how racing works.

Clearly JL and MM are the one making the decisions in their favor. So the favoritism is towards JL and MM. Not VR.

And your 'clear' evidence for this is?
