I am of the 'glass half full' school. I take things at face value until shown otherwise. I guess I prefer to think that people can be given the benefit of the doubt, rather than doubting the benefit.

But then, I'm from a ........ on the edge of the world where everyone is nice and people still say 'gidday' in the street to perfect strangers :)

In general I am with you 100% - but the web has 'fooled-me-once' and Nana taught me that rule well...

Try growing up in "Toronto The Good"! In the mid-to-late seventies and early eighties I could pass out on any street corner and be woken up not by Police and Thieves but by someone hustling me into their home/apartment to help out that 'poor wasted boy'! Contrast that to London/NYC/LA of the same period...

Sounds like he was not very happy.

<span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;<span style="color:#000000;A traveler came upon an old farmer hoeing in his field beside the road.

<span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"What sort of people live in the next town?" asked the stranger.

<span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"What were the people like where you've come from?" replied the farmer.

<span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"They were a bad lot. Troublemakers all, and lazy too. The most selfish people in the world, and not a one of them to be trusted. I'm happy to be leaving the scoundrels."

<span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Is that so?" replied the old farmer. "Well, I'm afraid that you'll find the same sort in the next town.

<span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;Disappointed, the traveler trudged on his way, and the farmer returned to his work.

Some time later another stranger, coming from the same direction, hailed the farmer, and they stopped to talk. "What sort of people live in the next town?" he asked.

<span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"What were the people like where you've come from?" replied the farmer once again.

<span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"They were the best people in the world. Hard working, honest, and friendly. I'm sorry to be leaving them."

<span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Fear not," said the farmer. "You'll find the same sort in the next town."

I don't do Facebook,  I don't do Twatter,  I don't do Forums.  I talk to my friends,  I found this place while sending some e mails and waiting for PI qualifying,  I don't care about your ex members and their issues, I did however take a good look around after logging off, and well, to be honest there are some smart people on here, but just chill, anyway my credentials are very checkable, I do work for KHI, I was very much involved in the MX partnership between KHI and Suzuki, I believe you have an ex MCN guy on here, I worked for Alec Wright, I know his son Colin Wright, I left after seven years and moved to Belgium, I am now back in the UK. but if this is how you treat a newcomer then, I am done, sorry but calling me a liar is a no no, Enjoy PI and don't forget, you are in for a shock next year, and Nicky will at least podium. good bye. Gary.

Hey man, don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch.  I am stoked to hear that Nicky has a legit shot at the box next year.  I am a die hard Ducatista and have been hugely disappointed for years.  I also am a Hayden fan, so it is refreshing to hear he will have a bike that actually works.  Now if GiGi D can get the Duc working maybe the races will be more interesting in the near future.  Thanks for the inside info.  Hope you stick around.

I've just re-read the entire MaquezMatters.cum thread. It should be required reading for ALL newbies. There is some real PS gold there!

As for KRs time, this was a long time ago, a time of massive sponsors and a glut of bikes, there is no money left, the series will be based on bikes sold to teams, and not factories putting zillions in, The Repsol deal only covers so much, Yamaha don't even have that, it has become untenable,  even when it is based on "works" bikes sold to teams, Honda will still want to dominate, that is just one reason why this bike is so good.

This is the big hope.

Where exactly will Rossi be next year. Exactly, no guesses. I want the answer and it better be correct :)

Yeah, fair enough. I just get sick of the word competitive, it popped up a lot in the Ducati threads. Anything within the MotoGP 107% cut off could be considered 'competitive'. At the other end of the scale, it becomes an argument about the merits of the M1 v RCV.

Rossi?

4th. Ha.

It is the SAME bike as this years, it does not need pneumatic valves as the rev ceiling will not climb, Dorna wanted to set an electronic rev limit, Honda said no, the engine architecture and fuel limits have done this anyway, the spec ECU has been used on this bike and was used by Casey, It was also funning to the new fuel regs. the test results were very close to full factory times, they needed to get his input as test riders, as good as they are, are not Casey, the data gathered will only make this bike better.

As this is a "production version" a full spares platform has been created, frames included. I don't know how much they will cost.

It has been developed using this years tyres.

This is no toe in the water exercise.

So exactly the same as this years bike.... with a completely different head, and different valve return, which implies different cam profiles. Whether these are 'detuned' cams, is another question.

The crux of it is: we're already at the 81mm bore limit that is a de facto rev limit and the RCV has air springs...so Honda see some advantage in pneumatic valve closure. Something they aren't sharing with the proddy RCV.

Of course they will have spare frames. The question was whether they will provide upgrades per what Sat teams beg for over the season. Since this is a "Thanks for your money, here's your bike" exercise, I am skeptical.

By toe in the water, see my post #122.

NGM are clever guys, no question, but even with all the Yamaha data, they have a mountain to climb, I don't know how far Yamaha have gone with the spec ECU, but I am sure they are a long way behind Honda, I don't even know if the project will be ready for the November test, but on a good note NGM are keeping Colin Edwards, and his an excellent development rider.

It appears that that is NOT a done deal...
