Honda Admit getting it wrong

for Honda, getting it "woorng" means not havign the best bike out there. they sat the bar pretty high for themselves. Could they have designed absolutely. But they chose not to. Why? one word -- Strategy. there is no point making your bike so much faster than the other bikes. for two reasons: 1. it makes fir less exciting racing and 2 more importantly, it gives other manufacturers a chance to see what is possible and hence catch up more quickly. And once they catch up, honda will not have an edge any more. So, historically, the strategy is to stay one step ahead, and keep opening up the power, as the other catch up.

As Burgess said when Rossi on a Yamaha beat Biaggi during the the fiurst race of a new season -- we'll have to see how much more power the Honda really has" or something like that. By the next race, again the Honda was faster than the Yamaha.

If the the honda is running big bang configuration, my hunch is that they will revert to the screamer configuration (like the Ducatis) which will give their engines more top end, and then rely more on traction control to the keep the wheels on the ground.

When a big company gets somthing so wrong, heads roll. I have not hurd anyone losing there job over making Honda's chance of a title go out the window. And if it is so true that it was Honda who pushed for the change to a 800cc bike and had one up and running way before every other team then they all should be burnt at the stake.

'Bravo'

Me too!

But then no matter how much ‘Power’ they can open up... with ‘no control’ (like front end feel) it’s kind of worthless.

Its rather funny that the year honda screws up in Moto GP they also screw up in Formula 1!

Next year...World Superbikes!

Is it a coincidence or has something happened right at the top of the honda management?
