Holy sh*t, wher's eject button?!

Oh, you mean like Casey?
<

You know, I never thought of it but you're actually right! Seriously. I never paid much attention but Casey was graceful during his exit. I think he'd be welcomed back with open arms. I don't see Rossi bad mouthing Ducati very often. These are his people in every sense. They're going to put out max effort on his behalf and I don't think he'll bad mouth them even if the results are lacking.

Also, putting Nicky down won't sit well with anyone. He's popular with the fans and he's earned a great reputation at Ducati. I think Rossi will keep quiet, work hard and get the most that he can get from the machine. He just won't get from it what Casey got.........he's not that good

The silliest thing is to make bold predictions before a wheel has turned in competition, the beauty of this pre-season is however, with the amount of .... Flying around-aimed especially at Ducati and Rossi-there is huge potential for serious egg on face and feces consumption this season
<

How very true, predictions have a major habit of returning and taking a bite from one's buttocks.

But then, this sounds like a prediction of it's own to me

Oops, edit time:

Talps you are spot-on in that predicting this early is just plain old plucking at straws as anything can and will happen (look at 2010, who would have thought VR would crash and be out for some time). As for the so called .... flying in the one direction, whilst a majority is flying that way there is some heading elsewhere but (IMO) the Ducati situation is the most intriguing and as such it is understandable (natural?) that it be the main focus.

Of course we are here.....and the only doubts are coming from boners and haters......reading so much boner ........ is very tiring especially as he's won nothing yet and it will be very funny when he chokes again this season

Pot, kettle??

Just peeing with ya Talps as it is coming from all sides.

fwiw I won't be making predictions yet as there is still to much to be decided/determined and with to many bloody variables.

Amen brother +1

Yeah I'm with you Talpa it is tiring, and anyway THIS bike is not the same as all those good bikes Stoner rode which were easy to ride and win on. THIS bike doesn't turn like the bikes stoner rode using the traction-control-turning. Let's hope they can get it back to the way it was before the first race as rossi will need that to beat stoner who has again been given a clearly superior bike much like the ducatis ones he had been given which also had a tyre advantage too lets not forget. Why would they keep giving rossi the bad bikes when stoner gets the rocketships...it's just not fair?

So its silly to make bold predictions? What is this?

Do us all a favor and slap yourself.

I'll make a bold prediction... Rossi win the first race this season. Come on Valentino

Just taking the piss, trying to keep the boners in check as usual........

You make a bold prediction while saying its silly to make bold predictions. How about starting with keeping your lame posts in check first?

Anyway, back to the drawing board. LINK

That time of the month is it?? Sense of humor gone out for the day?

read the first line of my post again.......

Agree, I just like refuting the historically established notion that it was somehow an easy bike to ride. Casey wons 3 races on the carbon fibre chassis mistake last year, Nicky podiumed once? (I think I invented another word)

For me to ever be a Rossi fan he will ride it all year, speak well of the bike in the team. Blame himself a bit for results, Win at least 3 races and come at least 4th in the championship and to do so gracefully.

And when he leaves to go to team green he'll be courteous and humbly thank Ducati for the good times.

Great stuff

Good to have you back Andy (you have almost Michaels wisdom , but with a touch more bite). (I,m trying to praise without offending either/both.............did I succeed?)

I think Jum was enjoying it too much to even be remotely subtle. I'm finding it hard.

This is the test of Rossi's character

Something I've always found lacking. Stoner gets the lash for being the sook but Rossi gets a leave pass.

And Rossi's bridge burning sook sessions and attacks on team mates truly show a lack of character.

This is the year of Rossi as the humble also ran, loyal to his team and team mates whilst watching the championship run off into the distance.

Agree completely.

It,s also going to be a particularly character building year for Talpa................not that there is that much character to build on.
<

One thing is for sure, Rossis move to Ducati has been the dream that Stoner-fans have been waiting for..........the move necessary to dispel all the myths and ........ built up over tha past 4 years. Ideally , having Stoner still at Ducati with Rossi would have made for a more direct comparison, but I think the comparison is valid enough for all people here with multiple synapses to comprehend.

I don,t wish any bad luck with Rossi , but it sure is difficult not to smile at his difficulties on the bike that self-rode itself to victory in 2007,the bike that Casey was not trying hard enough on last year (Rossi), and that would require only 80 seconds to adjust the settings to become a championship winning bike (Burgess). Just think, if Stoner were on the factory Honda since 2007, he could well have four world titles by now, and be not far from Rossis five (in the premier class). I think Stoners form on the Honda so far, makes that a realistic proposition (absolute heresy for the yellow army though).

Sorry, minor technicality, doesn't Rossi have 7 in the premier class?

He does, but if Stoner won the last 4 years , he would only have 5. Don,t take it too seriously, just conjecture.

.................but did that possibility shatter the Rossi aura??

I wouldn't go crowing about that too much ....... many of those titles were merely "caretaker" roles until he had some real competition. I beleive Rog. on here used to go on about Rossi's "caretaker role ad-nauseum, even giving Hayden the title of the "Cruizing Caretaker" the year he won, which I assume meant that Hayden had no difficulty in cruising into the caretaker role that year
<

Thats why 08 was his "real" year ..... and maybe 09 but even then he had JB
<

Rossi to Ducati has answered so many questions

<
Stoner, cant do it anymore.... he needs to dump Adriana, and than maybe...
<
I heard Adriana saying during WUP Valencia 2009 fall : " ...and he did it again, just like as he did before ... a couple of times... oh god where is his consistensy" ...and Vitto blinks at her
<

I think all this, losing a fate in him, will just make a film of Valentino more awesome
<
or make new fans and make the existing ones even stronger....and you guys that dont want that are making this your self
<

Just kidding a little bit
<

PS:Sry4my english.

cheers

It's all good. It didn't work out that way though. We'll see what happens for the next 5 years for Stoner now that he has the chance to do a doohan. It was a sad day when he had that crash.

You've obviously forgotten what a pile of ..... the '07 212v actually was. Even Pedrosa was unable to exploit a bike that was unquestionably designed around him and him alone. HRC only became truly competitive again midway through last season. This is perfect timing for Casey and a very shrewd move.
