Dont Know
Read the background info if you like and vote on the best destination for Rossi to return to greatness.

I say he wont play second fiddle to Lorenzo, and lacks the motivation to continue with Ducati.

Therefore its Gresini. He will get the sponsors to obtain a full spec factory Honda. Still an Italian team with the dedication to great friend Marco Simoncelli is enough to get him out of Ducati without losing face.

But the major carrot Rossi just wont be able to resist after the disastrous Ducati comparison will be to prove he can at least match Stoner on a Honda.

As you said birdman, he will get the sponsors to obtain a full spec factory Honda with out any problems.

Factory Yam is impossible for a number of reasons, not the least is that Rossi won't want to get his ... handed to him by Jorge.

Factory Honda - good luck.

I think Rossi's ego, combined with Ezzy's greed, make staying at Ducati increasingly unlikely. Maybe Prezzi will pull a rabbit out his ... sometime in the next two months, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Gresini has sponsor issues, if I remember correctly. Of course $ cures all, but a Rossi ride still seems unlikely.

I'd vote for the creation of a new satellite team, combined with a sudden, 'mysterious' , relaxation of the (idiotic) 4-bikes-per-manufacturer rule. The recent rookie rule (also idiotic, IMO) 180 is likely another part of the deal that Ezzy has bashed out with Honda.

already relaxed. read on kropo`s site.

I think Rossi is going to settle down with Ducati for two more seasons tryig to tame the Red Beast because he has nothing more to achieve, He is a Legend and the reason he wants to stay is because he loves bikes and he loves to race at the highest level. I know he is always hungry for the title but he will not .... up his reputation by going back to the Japanese factories. The only achievement that he really is after it is getting a title with the duc. I know that everyone and Valentino himself believes that is a fantasy but a guy like Rossi with that level of achievements and reputation will not get back to the Japanese seat and be a #2 rider just to make it a 10 time world champion. And in my opinion if he does it he really is a ........ just like Luis Figo (Portuguese soccer player) who transferred from Barcelona FC to the biggest rival Real Madrid just after he won his soccer player of the year award. It was really pointless and he never was the same.

If a satellite Honda was no good for Marquez because he brings his entourage forcing the satellite team to sack the team they have developed over many seasons why would this not be the case with Rossi. Is he dumping his team to make that move or are people suggesting a 3 rider team? If it is a 3 rider team what makes anyone think that the money Rossi brings is not just for Rossi, his entourage and the lease of HIS bike. Rossi does not share anything so really there is no win for Gresini. Add to that that any and all successful results are Rossi's and all failures are the team's, as accurately predicted by me and clearly demonstrated for the last 18mths, so once again nothing to win for Gresini. There is more for Gresini to gain by securing a full factory bike for Bautista and any 3rd bike should be for Espargo.

In my opinion, Rossi's only option (unless political force is applied to someone) is to go it alone and create FourSix Racing or stick with Ducati.

Is this "I think this is best for him" or "this is what I think will happen"

What I think will happen is he stays on the Duc.

What I think is best for him is swallow the ego, go to Yamaha and have fun winning 6 races over the next two years.

Stay at Ducati, because if he leaves, he'll never hear the end of it

I don't think he or the Rossi fans would give a fcuk. If he starts winning or drops another title in, the past few years will be forgotten by them.

i havent done the sums, but is there even enough bikes to house all these riders? smith, marquez, esparago + any others that are on their way up. I wouldnt mind betting someone loses a motogp seat next year (you listening spies??)

Rossi would be doing motogp a favour by adding another bike to the field, aswell as letting another moto2 rider graduate.

this

he should swallow his pride, but i think ducati is the most likely thing he'll ride next season. don't know about gresini,if honda supplies a 5th bike i see no reason why rossi couldn't get the third gresini bike. i guess his sponsors would pay for his salary and the mans earned enough to take a little paycut if winnig is more important

I can't see him going to Gresini or any other existing satellite team, that would be an admission of a fall from grace, but forming his own team would allow him to retain dignity - after all, what is there better for a fading racer to do than to give back

Neither Honda or Yamaha Factory rides, as failure is an absolute waste of time for them.

Satellite Ducati, Yam, or Honda is his ( and the Factories ) best option.

Not sure what you'd consider failure though Barry? If he went to Honda i'm pretty sure he'd have the measure of Pedrosa (would you consider Dani a failure over the past 6 years?) and if he went to Yamaha he'd take a few wins off Jorge (better than Spies, who this season could be considered worse than a man down, dont you think?) i'm sure. In terms of ability (when on a bike he's comfortable on) he's still in the top 4, easily.

Well Honda disagree with you, as do I.

Not so sure they do, think its more to do with investing how many millions of dollars in someone that hasnt produced, where as Rossi gave them more titles in the past 10years than any other rider. Nakamoto would probably have him back, the HRC bigwigs are just too proud it seems.

I think he will see what the season goes like with Ducati, if they listen to his crew then he will stay if the bike is improved. If not and they keep on pushing a bike he doesnt like onto him then he will be on a Gresini Honda next season.

So its between the two for me but I honestly think he is yet to decide.

Thats why Nakamoto wanted the Rookie rule dropped is it? So they could get Rossi?
