Like I've said before, I find it hard to imagine a Ducati team without an Italian rider on it when there's so many good ones out there. It's an Italian thing. I'm not saying it can't happen, but I think they're likely to exhaust all realistic Italian options before going for a second non-italian. ANd they're not dropping stoner.

He was offered it. He turned it down. Enough said.

Agreed. Given Marco's public dismay regarding Gresini Honda's problems and the fact he took up the option of another there over Ducati last year because he was promised more of the works parts, I think it's inevitable that Marco joins Ducati. It obviously has the speed, Ducati have been interested before and he is Italian.

The only problem is that the current championship leader was signed on for a mere 1.5M euros whilst both Loris and Marco are currently on 3 million each. It'll be hard to justify paying twice what the current championship leader is making.

well it depends on how badly marco wants to ride the red rocket! compromise... it's a beuatiful thing.

Maybe Honda made the same mistake Suzuki did when they built the 990. Too much computer control. If the pass on Vermeulen was any indicator then Nicky likes to handle the power himself and can do so quite well. It is said that driving along a highway at 80k for 20 seconds your brain does more calculations than an entire moon mission (not that there has been one
<
) No computer could calculate that kind of passing maneuver!!! What kind of math is his head doing?

thanks rog....these guys @ hrc def have the power they just to get off their ..... and start applying what they know or can know. they just had all their chips in for Ped. i do agree with the computer biz u guys were tallking about. AND yeah it would be awesome if hayden went to team red!!!! Him and Stoner will rip ..... Can Hayden be too loyal? maybe '08 will be his last year, who knows? Hayden is very loyal. plus his team. he's ur typical nice guy.

To be honest I don't blame Honda for basing the bike on Pedrosa as opposed to Nicky. As has been said before, Nicky certainly has his own, unique, style. Whereas Pedrosa's much more othordox style, which is certainly more common. As a result, it'll be easier for someone to build a bike around the common rider style, so when the new riders jump on the developed bike in the future, as opposed to one purpose built to suit someone's very unique style.

Especially if you consider now what we all know about the 800 riding a lot more like a 250 than the 990 ever did. By having a bike moulded by the 2 times 250 champion from just a couple of years ago, if and when they sign "the next big thing" be it any of the 250 top runners at the moment, they will be able to adapt a lot quicker than having to adapt to a bike designed around the riding style of someone who seems to go quicker the smaller the amount of traction he seems to have!

Yeah i agree with this and i'm a Hayden fan. Honda obviously decided that for 2007 the most successful route would be to build a bike for the 250 rider for the newer, small "250 style" bike. They had many new ideas to go with this and started with a blank piece of paper when they made the 212. Now they have admitted they got it wrong and are putting it right, including giving Hayden further support.

im not disagreeing with what you all just said....but they couldve made the aeros more effiecient not just for hayden but for the other honda riders too. i mean pedrosa the only one that looks normal on the bike when he is tucked in. evrything will work out for the best'; motogp right now is awesome!
