Nope....its amusing me too.....but most silly things do.

People are missing an obvious point: it is NOT nicky versus rossi - if it were then they would be buying their own plane ticket to the track for a running race. teams are part of it, dnf's are part of it, poor tires are part of it, skill is part of it, and so is judgement. perhaps nicky was using judgement to decrease racing risk, thus give him more consistent (yet lower) points return? its true that rossi had to ride brilliantly towards the end of the season, and hayden had to be conservative.....but that is all part of it.
in short you are confusing "championship" with "most skillful racer". championship is really "most consistently fast team member".....

I knew this would happen. Yes, maybe Rossi would have won if it were not for the mechanical and crashing problems. What about Hayden though? What if he would not have had the clutch issues and Honda treated him like Pedrosa? What then?

Like NASCAR, round and around and around. With a lot of "ifs" mixed in for fun. Hell, "if" Earl didn't pull the right moves on the first date and Nicky's mummy and daddy never got married, there would be no "Nicky Hayden", Rossi would still be champion and the world would still be turning
<

"if" is a lovely word, isn't it?

Hi Richo, very funny. I'm glad Earl's got game.

I think Repsol should check the bike in the garage cause im sure uccio has already removed it.

Zing.

Man - another topic that goes to Rossi vs Hayden...........................
<

Cant we stick to the topic title and leave the "other thing" to the countless other threads about it!!!!!!??

Hello, hello
When you look up in the future who won the 2006 motogp championship it will say Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi second, it won't say anything about "if" Vale had better luck he would of won the championship. The whole thing of saying Nicky didn't deserve it to me is unfair, although he didn't win it in a fashion we are used to seeing doesn't mean he was undeserving, in the end the most points wins, and he rode his balls off. Being a Rossi fan I was gutted when his bike went sliding down the road in Valencia and unfortunately he didn't win the championship but that is racing and these things happen, it doesn't make his previous championships null and void or Rossi any less of a great rider. It all that it means is he didn't get enough points to win and the new and deserving champion is Nicky. The whole "what if" this happened thing just doesn't matter its gone, to me it's same as debating Agostini vs Rainey vs Roberts vs Doohan vs Rossi.
And back to the original thread I think it's great to see the number one plate back, perhaps it makes you a target? but i've never ridden with one so i wouldn't know.
That Guy

This, IF Rossi this and IF Rossi that. It is now getting
<

BUT what if....a little man on a Ducati
<
or Dani
<
... didn't have their DNF's. Even better IF.... IF Bayliss with that 1 win e.g 100% carried that all season he would have won..

Well done Hayden... Wear that No.1 plate.. HOWEVER change the plate colour that red is NAFF.................. Yuk!!

Well it's going to be so funny to see how few times the no.1 plated bike will be winning next year if his past form is anything to go by.

'Daddy I thought the number one man was meant to be good?'
'No son he was just lucky'
