Hello, hello
When you look up in the future who won the 2006 motogp championship it will say Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi second, it won't say anything about "if" Vale had better luck he would of won the championship. The whole thing of saying Nicky didn't deserve it to me is unfair, although he didn't win it in a fashion we are used to seeing doesn't mean he was undeserving, in the end the most points wins, and he rode his balls off. Being a Rossi fan I was gutted when his bike went sliding down the road in Valencia and unfortunately he didn't win the championship but that is racing and these things happen, it doesn't make his previous championships null and void or Rossi any less of a great rider. It all that it means is he didn't get enough points to win and the new and deserving champion is Nicky. The whole "what if" this happened thing just doesn't matter its gone, to me it's same as debating Agostini vs Rainey vs Roberts vs Doohan vs Rossi.
And back to the original thread I think it's great to see the number one plate back, perhaps it makes you a target? but i've never ridden with one so i wouldn't know.
