Guess what lap DePuniet crashes thread

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ROCKGOD01 @ Sep 1 2008, 11:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Ahh now don't start that Rog. You and I both know there is no way in hell he is even close to ...... randy road rash. Sucks for SToner to be in the stuation he has been in for the past three races. Stoners record is wayyyyy better than randy in evey way so he aint down to Randys crappy level. I am amazed that he is still in motogp. Must be that thing where Ezy wants to have a frenchie in the series.
peeps were saying the exact same about casey in 06 mate

There is some reason why RdP is still in GPs. For example, he managed to park his Michelin shod, privately funded 2007 RC212V at the head of the second row before he pitched it away. There is a lot of potential there, unfortunately I think he needs some maturing and a more stable front. He didn't crash this often while at Kawasaki with the 'Stones.

He'll never be a World Champion and likely won't ever win a race, but in the right situation he could be a consistent top 10 guy.

if they were they were crazy. you could see stoner's potential.

rdp, no ....... way.

but anyway. sad as hell that we all KNOW he is going to wreck, and placing bets on when. he really does need to go.

In qualifying he was drafting valentino to help him get that second row... but he is fast over one lap but really inconsistent and this is the world championship.

Better guys have failed and known when to leave.

Your out of your mind. Casey is way better than Randy at any point in time in their careers.

I agree with roger

if one would've said stoner would win a championship over rossi, back in the days when he was still crashing in 2006, everyone would've laughed. I may even dig in the archieve of the forum to find all the Crashey Stoner and Rolling Stoner threads

great topic btw

cant believe I missed it

To put a different perspective on this topic which seems to be simply making fun out of a world class rider i'll point out that Randy this year is better than John Hopkins, who is being paid millions to ride a factory bike and is often considered to be promising young rider. He is also only a handful of points behind Guintoli, who is considerably more popular.

By the way, wouldn't it be cool if he managed to bring it down at the high speed corner, hahah.

...But yeah, I'm betting on him to make it to the end without a crash this time. I'm pretty sure it could happen.

Hopper hasn't even started 3 races this year, and has had 3 DNF's (if memory serves me right at least 2 of those were mechanical failures). The rest of the time he has been riding with injury, not to mention the Green machine he rides and its shortcomings.

Randy has started all of the races this year, and all of his DNF's and offs during the year have been due to his riding, minus the Rossi incident. He has a history of DNF due to crashing along with losing position due to crashing.

So tell me this Tom, if you were managing a MotoGP team and had a choice of riders, would you hire Randy De Puniet?

Shinya kicked his butt at Kawasaki, Randy DePuniet's that is.

Thats his fault though. He has had a few mechanicals, but thats what you get when yo go to a struggling team, Randy chose a satellite Honda over factory Kawasaki, and that looks like a good decision at this point in time.
