Great race, Dovi so cool under big pressure and has-been not too far behind. Could be a great season if this is how close the bikes are.

Never ever say that again. Double D is the kitties .......!

Neh .... something went on with Dovi at the last Stoner test ...... for whatever reason and by whatever means its seems to have worked.

And today Dovi looked in charge .... like Stoner.

Like Dovisistoner ;)

Hes the second winningest Ducati rider ever.

Great Race...

Dovi - Great Smart Ride
MM - Got out Classed
Rossi - Almost but not enough
...
Vinales - WTF....really
...
JLo - I guess he finally activated Setting 8... ;)
Rins - A real shame....

Wow! Hope this is a preview of things to come.

Had a feeling Dovi would come from behind - but wasn't counting on him to win. Such a controlled ride. Just enough to keep the gap and always looked good.

Marquez... going to be extra motivated going into the next round.

Rossi was convincing. Gotta hand it to him.

Missed beginning of race because MGP changed up their Chromecast set-up and didn't figure it out till lap 2. So I don't know why Vinales had such a bad start.

Too bad about Lorenzo's apparent engine crap-out. Wanted very much to see if he'd adjusted his style sufficiently to keep up with Dovi.

Zarco - classic underdog leading 2/3 of race and then fading. How many times have we seen this scenario?

Crutchy kept the shiny side up. That at least is a good sign.

All in all - a really great start to the season.

I always look at the Champaigne segment to see the body language between the podium finishers. It was encouraging to see all three podium finishers dousing each other in bubbly and toasting each other.

Good vibes only.

.

I think yamaha accidentally swapped remote controllers for Vinales and Zarcos bikes and didnt realise until 2/3rds the way through.

Who is this ..... commentator on BT-2? Talking again about Ducati power coming out from a corner. Anyone even remotely interested in this sport knows MotoGP bikes do not use full power on lower four gears, thus there cannot be any "power advantage" coming out from a 1st or 2nd gear corner. BTW, the new Honda 2018 engine is clearly equal to Ducati engine regarding top power and speed.

:p:p:p

Seriously - I expect he just ate up too much of the tire staying in front of more experienced riders who were conserving rubber for the last 5 laps.

Wasn't watching with those commentators, but it would have more to do with useable power as allowed by the tech genies setting up of mapping and TC.

Too soon to say how Honda and Ducati will compare over the course of the season and there will be still some sorting out to do. Qatar is IMHO - not a great indicator for the rest of the season. It has so many singular issues with track temps and sand on the surface etc.

Whats that old kids joke? Something about gravel, 8, 99.

A decent race, with an imminent heart attack at the last corner.
Dovi is so good under pressure, one element that will definitely help him on his way to WC.

Congrats to Marquez, a very nice ride in a circuit that's so anti-Honda.
BTW, I loved the brakes of Marc onto Turn 1. He just made it look easy, how deep he was going without losing the apex.

I'm really surprised with Yamaha - if Vinales hadn't suffered that much at the start, it would easily be a 3-4, much better than every fan expected.

Poor Rins and Jorge. It was engine, wasn't it?

So first blood for Dovi and Rossi (against Vinales, it's an interesting battle for me as well).

my god what a cheeeeeeesy "video presentation" done by motogp.com with the new commentator saying .... like "they are called Aliens" and the riders doing stupid stuff like marquez jumping from his bike, zarco hitting water, Vinales hitting an hammer etc...around 12min if you watch the race on motogp.com

hopefully only 1 time in the all season

zarco is just a buzz ....., just want to steal the show to get a good contract offer.

he clearly overrun himself, i guess with very aggressive mapping, knowing exactly how it would end

i really hate this guy, he plays it like a fengshui yoga fan, but he is just one of those sour kid that was getting bullied in school and now wants a revenge, its written all over his face.

People are saying this guy should take the place of Pedrosa etc...he never even won a race in motogp

all this hype around him is orchestra by Poncharal and Zarco's manager...very frenchy...all for the show but once results are expected...nobody's home...a bit like in a bed with a woman. ....... french touch

btw the other illuminati theorist of the forum who said Rossi's career is basically based on special treatment he got from both michelin and bridgestone (he won titles on both) guess what : looks like Zarco's soft isn't working to work this year....BIAAAAATCH

Great race from Dovi and MM, even though the rest looked in contention the last lap proved they're grid fillers.
Zarco needs to start using a harder rear tyre, he might have won.

The soft rear tyre for Zarco was no excuse today, pretty much the entire grid were using it.

Anyone else noticed just how much Rossi is leaning off the bike at the moment? He's been doing it all weekend. I'm assuming it's to save edge grip on the rear by not having to dial in as much lean angle...?

I did notice that and was wondering the same too.

Hey Max, looks like your father needed really badly to pee/urinate at the very moment of your creation and that some of his urine was mixed with his semen, that would explain the result that you are. Zarco is nothing more than a flying frog

We'll soon be able to call these kind of Dovi wins "Classic Dovi"

But Marquez getting 2nd with basically no gap on this track (that is rather complicated for him) is a sign of the very high level both he and Honda are at right now...

gonna be a good championship.
