Obligation? What obligation?
He earned a lead. What's with all the qualifiers which usually apply for riders who have a lead? Finally, I'm amused you dislike his personality and it seems to affect your overall impression of him. Can't separate the personality from the abilities and achievements on track, hence the qualifiers for why he had a lead? :spin:
How so?.
I don’t like Rossi’s past off track manipulation and occasional on-track chicanery.
I have never argued that he is other than a great rider, and at one time considered him the very greatest, and he is definitely/obviously a greater rider than my 2 recent favourites in Lorenzo and Stoner, and probably also better than my all time favourite rider in Mick Doohan. I give him full credit for all his titles and race wins (perhaps not Jerez 2005), but don’t award him titles he didn’t win, which is what was under discussion. He of course deserved his lead in 2015, he had been the best rider up till then, but the title is decided over the whole season and he wasn't good enough in the concluding races as I said. He rode amazingly that year particularly considering the stage in his career and quality of the opposition, and is still considerably better than respectable at age 40.
I have made no personal attacks btw, just disagreed with your opinion as you are obviously free to do and have done with mine.
