GP of Britain.

Hope Dovi is alright, his looked a mess trying to hobble away when he ditched the stretcher.

I can’t believe how twitchy on the rear that Honda was. From the start until the end, Michelin quality control again? Either way you can’t win then all. What a ride from Rins. Threw everything at Marquez and got the chocolates. What an overtake though.

Honda seems to have given up a lot to gain their horsepower. The gains that Rins was able to make on the brakes and in the middle of the corner were very telling. It wasn’t so long ago that Marquez was able to make those gains on the competition.

Great win for Rins. But once again, he repeatedly keeps running into rider in front of him and then loses time with corrective action.

Eh, no bike can have it all. Marc admitted a mistake going into the last corner.

That’s what happens when Rins watches Days of Thunder the Saturday night before the race.

I was getting really sick of them replaying Dovi's crash. Grotesque ....... crash .... for the drama vultures.

Surely something not right with the Repsol bike. Way too many head shakes. Suzuki keeps going from strength to strength. Amazing edge grip.

Good job for Rins.

If Vinales could learn to do better starts, he could really be a threat.

No of course not, I understand gaining in one area means you lose in others generally but the differences were huge. But their bike seems to have lost a huge amount on the front end in their need to compete with Ducati. The other Honda’s are struggling and tonight I think we saw part of the reason why despite Honda’s huge HP improvement.

Marquez made a mistake, I’m not saying he didn’t.

I thought the same thing, its the first time we’ve seen the Honda get the shakes likes that. It was reminiscent of when Fabio was getting it a few races ago. So two different bikes, two different riding styles, could it have been the tyres?

Both Fabio and Marc’s headshakes were a one off.

It's all part of the show. What I do have a problem with however, is not seeing the pass by Rins for 2nd place live on track because we are watching a crash that we've already seen from every available angle 6 times. Sort it out.

Fantastic race. I thought it had gone away from Rins when he tried that outrageous manoeuvre around the outside. Marc as was his right, stuck him on the astro turf. That'll put hairs on your chest.

Gutted not to have Fabio chucking it with the front boys today. Over eager. He's got the pace but not the experience/maturity, but in a year or so he's going to be a thorn in Marc's side for sure. A rough diamond.

Dovi has concussion and short term memory loss. Nothing broken.

Fabio's was caused by him taking an adverse line out of the hairpin at Assen. Once he had been overtaken he saw that Maverick and Marc make a very different exit to that preceding turn missing an undulation that upsets the bike.

By the looks of it Marc took a slightly wider exit onto that straight at Silverstone. The rumble strip has a pretty big lip where it meets the astro turf there so I'd hazard a guess that perhaps he caught that raised edge which set up the tank slapper.

I was yelling this at the screen when they came back from replay and Ribs was ahead.

Mostly boring race with a great last couple of laps.

Time for Vale to retire.

Championship is all but over... how is everyone behind MM gonna shake out?

Felt that way for some time. But once the shock of the Dovi's crash (sort of) wore off, the fight between MM and Rins was great. Felt like the remainder of the race went on forever (in a good way) because it NEVER felt processional. Watching Rins eat up the space between him and MM in the turns was for me really exciting because it so clearly illustrated the superior handling of the Suzuki, which looked so planted, while OTH - MM was looking pretty rough and largely in save-it mode through much of the race. MM had to be in shock that Rins was so hard to beat. He knows he's that much better a rider, and has the power advantage. Tho I don't see the same thing happening, it does remind me of how much Stoner burned out riding around the idiosyncratic Ducati. If HRC can't make the bike handle better, and Suzuki figured out how to make a few more useable ponies, Marquez would be hard-pressed to turn down a good offer from them. I mean, nobody else can ride the Hondas worth a .... in their current state.

Vale should have retired four years ago. He could have left with his head up high and the fans crying that he left too soon.
It's a ..... when you're 40 but inside you feel 25, and you keep trying to fool yourself that nobody has noticed.

The Suzuki is magnificent into and through the turns. And with Rins on-board looking like Schwantz, neck craning through the turns, turning around to see the rider behind and almost binning it, just fantastic.

It looks like the extra horsepower HRC have cooked into the engine has robbed the bike of something on corner entry. The Honda has been very pointy these last few years, but the lack of stability gave it an advantage on the agility front. Now it just looks like it lacks stability but with no upside, very sluggish into corners. Perhaps Marc is taking a little less out of the front tyre these days too, having realised that having 20 plus crashes a season isn't the way to stay healthy.

Rossi hasn't been the same rider since his last big effort in 2015. I feel that he knew it was his last big chance and through a combination of age and desperation he imploded, the pressure just being too much. He should have let it go at that point, but he covets that 10th title. Look at how much it has cost him, a shadow of his former self chasing an unattainable dream, and tainting his previously almost flawless legacy in the process. It's always a shame to watch former giants get cut down to size by their own lack of self awareness.
