Lorenzo's back, hard to think he'll be on form. Crutchlow is due a podium, Marc's gonna sink another nail in the coffin on anyone's dream of a 2019 championship. Quartaraos gonna fly

Can't wait, I'm just praying there is no rain forecast...

August is not a good time of year for Britain. It does rain a lot and we have to expect rain more than not. Hopefully, the track surface can better handle rain. I was one of those disappointed fans who last year sat ....and sat .......and sat................ until the race was cancelled. I was crushed since I suffered in waiting. It was cold and wet. I did F1 this year instead and that was a dry race.

Lorenzo should be fascinating to watch. I'm imagining one of those movies where the protagonist is out for the count, lies down for a while, reflects on all that's at stake, stands up, wipe off the blood and fights to the win! I love the underdog stories and he sure is on the backfoot now.

All wish the best for Lorenzo, dude needs that comeback real bad.

On the back foot is an understatement considering the career he has had so far, it will be hard to come back from one of these.

However Its Lorenzo and he can't end up like a Tito Rabat or Barbera type of guy.

He has to either get his .... together and go hard or just straight up let it go and become an ambassador for the sport.

For sure as a confirmed JL fan, I'll be watching. The long climb to success at Ducati was too long for the team bosses and JL himself, so he set out in the opposite direction at Honda. That approach has not proven kind to him, to put it lightly.
This weekend we may see how he is physically and mentally, hopefully in good shape.

I really miss those trademark long, sweeping smooth lines at a seemingly impossible clip.

:cry:My wife wondered why I didn't go for this years race. I told her that last year was too painful. She rebutted that a disaster like last year was almost certain to not happen again. I agreed, but I didn't expect such a conveniently timed heat wave for the race weekend. Argh!!

:band1:

I'm on the drums!

I think we will see Qauartararo get his debut win this weekend.

Gonna make a bold prediction,

Quartarao
Vinales
Crutchlow

Marquez will finish, but be off the podium, for the first time in ages.

Great Q2. When the announcers were talking up the possibility of Cal taking the poll, I said to my wife, "What you want to bet he crashes?" and 5 seconds later, down he went. I was actually hoping it would be a reverse jinx.

Yeah, my neighbor who knows near to nothing about racing just told me he heard Rossini is going to win because he has the best bike Jamaganaha.

I’m going with Marquez, his pace n FP4 was superior to everyone. He was rattling off 6 mid 159’s in a row while the next fastest “FQ “had 3 high 159’s then a bunch of low 2.00’s. Then just skull ...... everyone n qualifying. His reaction to losing races the last few years has been to win 2-3 n a row just to remind them hey have no chance. For Dovi’s sake, he better be sandbagging because he hasn’t shown podium pace at any time this weekend. If Fabio and Vinales don’t get swamped at the start, they both have shown better race pace than Rossi.

Marquez
Fabio
Vinales
Rossi

MM, VR and JM should have had grid penalties from Q2. That .... was stupid.

Agree.
I understand why no one is wanted to lead but if it happens again I think penalties need to be put in place.

With the shake a second between Marquez and Rossi, I’m not sure if Marquez was really looking for a tow rather than wanting to make sure he didn’t give Rossi a tow.

Why would there be a need to penalize them? As long as they're not impeding on another rider's lap, let them sit there and play their games. They end up giving themselves a self-penalty if they run out of time to get a quick lap in.

Marc wanted to use Rossi as a tow (he did it earlier this season as well) and Rossi tried to wait him out. Didn't work, but there was no negative impact to any rider. IMO, no penalty needed.

If Yamaha fails to get Quartararo on a factory M1 and lose him to another manufacturer they'll regret it.

He's on one of the slowest bikes on the grid and keeps managing to show amazing speed. He deserves a factory ride as much as any of the current factory riders.
