Ducati Watch - it's great to see Franco Batiini reminded of how much of a total pices of sht Abrahams bike really is. I'm sure that he hasn't ridden reject number umteen is quite a while. The sporting thing for him to do, is to run over to the red trailer and hi-jack a few go-fast parts. Finishing behind a CRT would be quite humiliating.

Spies Watch 2012 - After FP1 & FP2, It's getting harder to make a case for his future in gp. I am a fan, but that seat is far to coveted for mediocrity.

Pedrosa Watch 2013 - The rumors are strong that he has signed a 2 year deal to stay at Repsol, as deserved.

,,funny how many on all the blogs have called for Dani's head while declaring that Spies will find his way and should stay. You can't even compare the 2 on any level.

There are simply too many fast riders for so few competitive bikes that there is no time for patience when sorting out the future. ,,, fair? definitely not.

MotoGP is an 8-bike championship! The CRT is a 13-bike championship, run simultaneously, hence why you see a “1[sup]st[/sup] CRT” in parc ferme. It’s an indication that two categories are being run concurrently. Most people watching think there are 21 bikes in the series, but we have two series, 8 competitive machines, and any Japanese bike not finishing 1-8 is an embarrassment. The other 13 compete in an alternate championship, the best CRT bike being a DuCRT. So while people want to gauge their boys, ask yourself, in what categories is this person doing well? The factory squad of 4 bikes, the prototype squad of 8, or the rest. If you are finishing 4-7 all the time and your bike is as good as 4-7, what exactly is impressive? The only rider so far performing out of whack is Spies. So you can increase the other 4-8 finishing positions by one accordingly.

The top factory riders: Lorenzo and Stoner. Pedro being 3[sup]rd[/sup] consistently is hardly a revelation considering he is on one of only 4 bikes with a chance to win. Spies being the worst of the top 4 bikee, who is performing outside of his bikes potential. So far, he is the outlier of the bunch (of exactly 4 bikes).

The top satellite riders: Dovi and Crutchlow. Bautista and rookie Bradl are consistently behind or battling just behind these two. Considering one is a rookie and the other is overrated, then it stands to reason they would be behind Dovi and Cal, but very near them considering their near equal machinery.

The top DuCRT riders: Hayden and Rossi. Barbera and Abraham being the other DuCRT riders with a power and slight electronic advantage over the CRTs in terms of potential lap times of DePuniet and Espargaro. When any of these DuCRTs beat a Japanese prototype, it should be rare. The other lesser CRTs have no chance and the parity is wildly erratic.

Mattia Pasini and a mechanic working for the AB Cardion Ducati squad were fortunate to escape injury after a scary collision in pit lane during this morning’s opening practice session at Germany’s Sachsenring.

The Speed Master rider was pulling into the pits when he clipped a mechanic working for Ducati test rider Franco Battaini, who is standing in for the injured Czech Republic rider Karel Abraham.

Pasini suffered a heavy blow to his head when he hit the ground and his bike veered towards Valentino Rossi’s factory Ducati garage before coming to a rest just outside the Italian’s pit box.

One of Rossi’s mechanics turned off Pasini’s Aprilia ART engine before several Ducati staff and medics rushed to attend to the fallen Italian rider.

He was able to get to his feet and make his way back to his Speed Master squad but he needed medical treatment in hospital before getting permission to participate in a wet afternoon session.

He clocked the 14th best time and he said: “This was quite a tough day. In the morning we started off well because at Assen we had put together some positive work and therefore we had a good base to begin with. I liked the bike, but when I went back to the box there was an accident with a mechanic who crossed the pit-lane without looking. That made things more complicated: I hit my head and my back hurts. I went back to the circuit five minutes before the beginning of the second session and we decided to get out on the track.”

Rossi’s long-serving mechanic Alex Briggs took to Twitter to give an eye witness account of the incident and he wrote: “Directly outside our garage Pasini hit one of Abraham's mechanics stepping-off pit wall... The bike all but spun into our garage. Only thing that stopped it was the dividing concrete post, Bernie turned it off. It's kinda funny now talking about it, but was really scary and a wake up call. I was in Jerez when Wakai died in very similar circumstances.”

Japanese 250GP rider Noboyuki Wakai died in Jerez in 1993 when he collided with a spectator in the pit lane during the Spanish Grand Prix. He died from head injuries sustained when he hit the pit wall.

Actually this is true when comparing Ducati's race team staff vs HRC's, its what 40 vs 400? Ducati dont have a whole lot more than a CRT. Goes to show how massive an achievement 2007 really was, and how much embarrassment it must have caused. Which probably explains why the rules have changed so much since.

Today went great for me, I might finally get a prediction right!

Yes I just got here... Rained all the way up, took a break long enough for me to pitch my tent.

Hopefully it clears up for Qualy. I'm on the lookout for Cliche and pocket rocket but I have no earthly idea how to find them.

At least it appears to be wet enough for the rain tires to work properly.

exciting last 10 minutes. How many riders were trading fastest laps? Spies, Hayden, Bradl, Stoner & Crutchlow all going for it in treacherous conditions.

well done all

real Crap conditions

BBC Confirmed Cal offer and he's got until mugello to give an answer

Strong Rumour Redding on a Sat Pig in motogp next year

Rossi is a million miles from anything needs to go home

Oh yeah??? Well I counter predict Valentino will win by a 50 second margin with Cal riding side-saddle pillion (In the dry). Not only that but in post race interview when they ask him what his secret was behind his improved results - he will be very close-lipped only going so far as to reveal that his new technique is "Australian sheep related"
<

Impressed by Pedro, not conditions he usually does good in.

I like Bradl. Would have loved to see him take pole.

But I'll take Stoner's pole without complaining too (pun intended). Great stuff.

I thought the Honda was struggling in the wet this year?
