He should do fine, he's talented and has quite a lot of circuit racing experience.

yeah i expect him to go alright. Interesting to see Heiki in the C4 as well

Nice Try

Well its decided 100% now, there are no more ways for Mclaren to cheat
<

In other news, it looks like glock is gonna get a Toyota drive for next year and testing would suggest that Kovvalinen will stay with Renault....................things continue to be interesting

Well yeah, FA left, so of course there wont be any cheating anymore

I'm happy with the result, not a real shock of course. It was kinda sad that Mclaren tried to win the title this way..sad sad sad..oh well!!

Very interesting indeed!
I think Heikki showed enough this season to earn himself a seat for next year (at Renault!!). I guess we'll just have to wait and see what Fernando will do, that's the big question. If he re-joins Renault, then Heikki might leave, or Nelson wont get a chance. Time will tell.

For now I'm just happy to say, Kimi is the 2007 CHAMP!!!

Anyway, he was fastest again. I know it's only testing, but still!! He was faster than Massa for almost 0.5sec!!! Not bad I would say.

I don't hate the guy, he was a good driver.

but i'm a bit tired of seeing his ugly mug
<
, hes been around since 1991.

Yep, and he could have continued for a few more years, thats how good he is.
This season was interesting, but I did miss MS to be honest. It's just not the same without him, which aint a bad thing. Like I said, I enjoyed it, and if he was still driving for Ferrari, Kimi probably wouldnt have won the title, so I'm not complaining!

I`m taking the plunge in`08 and watching F1 for the sole reason of there being no driver aids,it`s got to be worth giving it one more chance.

You won't regret it!!!!

I'm sure next season will be really interesting to watch.

Flav said they have a 60% chance of getting Alonso, that Renault will change their lineup and that it will be solved by wednesday.

So they way I see it, FA goes to Renault along with Piquet Jr. Fisi gets the boot and Kovalainen most likely goes to McLaren.

Otherwise Alonso goes to RedBull and Kovalainen stays at Renault.

Apparently Flavio has said Renaults 08 lineup is all-new!! So thats Heiki to Mclaren then..............

Teams to test slick tyres at Jerez

Nov.21 (GMM) Bridgestone will reportedly supply slick tyres for formula one teams to trial at the upcoming test in Spain.

The FIA announced earlier this year that the planned 2008 reintroduction of slicks, which were banned in favour of the current grooves at the end of 1997, would now be delayed.

But the Dutch magazine Formule 1 Race Report claims that every grand prix outfit will be given several sets of slicks to try at Jerez early next month, ahead of the likely reintroduction of the tyres in 2009.

The publication quotes a BMW-Sauber spokesman, and also the concurrence of the Red Bull teams and Honda, as confirming the news.

The Jerez-spec slicks will reportedly be based on the slick tyre currently produced by Bridgestone for the GP2 series.

It is also reported that tyre-warming blankets will not be allowed in 2008.

Guess we'll have to wait whether Heikki will stay or go, but one thing is for sure, Fisi HAS to leave, he doesn't add anything to the team imo. Not even ''experience''. Surely that must be the reason why they have him, but it's just not working. He ain't that good anymore. I always thought he was better than the average driver, and he used to be very solid, but now it's time to leave I think. Nothing against the guy, he seems nice. It's time for some fresh blood.

Yep, time for him to leave... His performance during the 07 was downhill (to think that he was already halfway to the bottom during the 06 season).

I think his best days were over ever since he joined Renault in 05. Alonso beat him constantly, Fisi said (and so did Trulli) that Alonso was given better equipment. Not sure what I think about that. I think Alonso is simply a better driver, but I'm sure they favoured him too, which is normal, the better driver usually gets a better treatment, look at MS' career.

yeah, probably, FA was given better equipment or something... but Fisi didn't fight back and he made a lot of stupid mistakes during races. he redeems himself only to make 2 other stupid mistakes after that.

Fisi is whining a lot in 2006 when it was public that FA was going to McLAren and Fisi was staying Renault hid every development parts from FA and still FA was much quicker, Fisi (and Trulli) were simply not good enough.

No team is so stupid to give a worse car on purpose to a driver, that's handicapping themselves in the WCC fight (unless you've been kicked out of it for spying Ferrari ... but that's a different story).

I agree, that would be pretty stupid. I dont think they ''sabotaged'' Fisi's car or anything like that. I think FA was simply the better one, Fisi and also Trulli are just not champion's material.
