Hopefully things will go well for Honda. I really want to see Jenson on the podium more. I think there is going to be some rivalry on the track between Lewis and Jenson next season.

Would be nice for Jense if Honda would be able to go for podium finishes. Like I said, I do think they will make a big step forward, but I'm not sure that will be enough. Let's say Honda will improve drastically, and they're able to go for wins, and lets assume Mclaren will too, who do you think will be better then? Jenson? Or Lewis? I personally think Lewis is better than Jenson, but I do think Jenson is a good driver, I enjoyed his racing A LOT back in 2003, when he beat former champion Villeneuve.

Renault have escaped unscathed from the FIA trial against them for possesion of McLaren data. Therefore it looks like FA will sign for Renault a 2 year contract (and most importantly my crystal ball will be right!

).

That leaves Kovalainen without a ride unless he makes a deal with McLaren.

Though there were hints by Whitmarsh that one of McLaren test drivers would get the job.

That's weird cause IMO Heikki seems a pretty good driver, and the best available (other than Alonso). So either, Macca has a lot of faith in De la Rosa or Paffet, or Heikki wouldn't accept the job cause what Macca is looking for is a lapdog that won't threaten Hamilton.

Renault got away with it? What a joke! Why do you people bother with this?

Many answers are possible..

LOL!! You wouldn't say!!!

It's ok though, not everyone can see the beauty of the sport

Yeah some races can be alright sometimes. Just got a bit bored of 4 drivers in McLaren and Ferrari winning every race this season and that deffo needs to be improved. I would love to see Nick Heidfeld win his first race sometime next season same as Robert Kubica.

Still way better than 2002 or 2004.

Anyway, it's official, Nando will go back to his daddy

Renault confirms 2008 driver line-up: Alonso and Piquet

Guess that ball of yours was right after all

But I think WE ALL knew it. It's not a shock at all. I'm glad there will be another rookie on the grid, Nelsinho Jr!!!!! Finally!! I'm curious about him, maybe Alonso will get beaten again by a rookie
<
<

Kidding, I dont think so AT ALL, especially not at Renault where they will give Nando the support he wants.

He was not beaten, he had the same number of points (109) and wins (4) LW is listed ahead just because of a technicality (number of 4ths positions IIRC).

yeah yeah, he beat him!!

Ok, I'm only kidding!! I know they got the same amount of wins and they have both 109 points, I just think Lewis did a better job than Fernando last season. We for sure didn't expect him to do so well before the season started. Look what happened now..Alonso didnt get his way and now he's running back to Flavio

And you don't think it's embarassing to have the same amount of points as a rookie?

Unless you subscribe to the theory McLaren were screwing Alonso for their 'goldenboy' Hamilton.

<

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>And you don't think it's embarassing to have the same amount of points as a rookie?

Absolutely not, he ended up just 1 point behind the champion, just cause LW did outstandingly well doesn't mean he did bad.

Truth is, as Ron Dennis said himself (China), they were racing against FA since the Hungary incident (which was caused by LW) so IMO, racing in that environment were your boss considers you the nº1 rival above Ferrari is very hard, harder than the difficulty of being a rookie, which is not such a big deal in F1 nowadays.

If Ron hadn's been such an ... manager one of his drivers would've won the championship.

LW had no F1 racing experience. But on the other hand he had experience with the Bstone tyres (which FA didn't), he had experience with the Macca car (wich FA didn't) and had experience with the team (which FA didn't). All in all it was pretty even. As it was proven by the fact that LW was quick from the beggining and lost it at the end. A rookie whose handicap is lack of experience would be stronger towards the end of the season rather than the beggining.

I had left the forum, but I felt compelled to return to share with you all the most ridiculous thing I think ive ever had the misfortune of reading. Written by? Yes, you guessed it.

I seriously think James Allen is genuinely in love with Hamilton

That whole article just pisses me off from start to finish. First, the racism thing. Eh? Apparantly if we don't quite believe the hype, which I don't, it's because of the skin colour? No James, its because I don't think you can fully judge a driver after one season, and there have been rookies just as quick as Hamilton, Clay Regazzoni and Jacques Villeneuve to name two, who haven't gone on to dominate Formula One.

Then theres the comparisons with Senna. These are getting very old, very quickly. He isn't Senna. His personality is nothing like Senna. He may become better than Senna, who knows, but to say he is like Senna is a bit like saying Gerhard Berger reminds you of Santa Claus.

I found this comment to be particularly amusing:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>As a man he has a unique charisma, as Ayrton did; when he enters a room everything stops, you cannot take your eyes off him.

No James, I think you'll find that was you, before the security guard told you it was private property.

Hamilton is the 'real deal', I have no quarries about that, its extremely likely he'll be a world champion one day, and at the very least a regular race winner. But he isn't the greatest ever, not just yet. So step away from the point of orgasm, please James.

Yep, certainly a knock to his pride. Mind you, I think with the sour atmosphere between him and the team, to still come level with your favoured (and they did favour him, consciously or sub-consciously) team mate, and take four wins, ain't bad going.

And you never wonder WHY the team went against him?

I'm no ....., I know WHY the team went against him. I'm just saying he did well considering the circumstances.

LH was impressive on Top Gear the other week even in the wet he beat Damon Hill's dry lap time.

On another note from an inside source ex Renault driver Koverlinan was at Mclaren today, new driver for 08?
