Irrespective of what people think of Rossi, we have to acknowledge that he has a large fanbase and in another forum I found this that may interest them - Thank You Vale | A movement by Rossi fans

It has a series of pics of people meeting VR and so forth, so to those that like the colour yellow, feel free to knock yourselves out and enjoy :D

May seem creepy to some but it is an interesting insight perhaps ..............

No, it is creepy. People so easily infatuated scare me. It kind of like the walking dead without the rotting flesh

Totally agree

It (to me) shows the cult that is VR as I am not sure of many (if any) other high profile sports people with similar type of setups/pages created by 'fans'.

Posted it though as sure there will be some on here (likely around 238 new members) who will appreciate it

I'll elaborate,

Any person who tattoos himself or herself with the name, nickname or numbers of an athlete is a total LOSER.
Regardless of the athlete.

I don't see it as any different than how you and the rest of the washed up riders in here have Nickey and Casey's balls planted squarely in your mouth to be honest.

The VR46 tattoos

Losers!!!

Why? You now become an authority on this? Because it doesn't fit with your empty rhetoric? WTF is it to you what people put on their bodies? Everyone's definition of a loser is different, to me a loser can be anyone who judges people based on the tattoo of a number or name of anyone, athlete, team or other person.

Povol's most recent infatuation is with MM I believe, and while I am not particularly a Marquez fan I wouldn't call him washed up, and I am surprised if you consider him to be so seeing that according to those of your ilk he was apparently so vastly superior to both Lorenzo and Rossi in the last 3 races he was able to determine the championship by his whim.

Sickening............... The tramp stamp rolling billboard does fit his type of followers "paparazzo ".

Can we start a thank you movement for every other riders???

Personally I've never had any interest in meeting a celebrity of any kind. I just don't get it. But to each his own and I'll try not to judge. what are you going to say after waiting hours and jumping thru hoops and spending cash to meet them? duuuuh. i have a motorbike too. I like you.
Robert Plant lived here in Austin for a few years. I'd see him at whole foods and Target (of all places) from time to time. While i would say to myself "..... that's robert plant" I never had any desire to walk up to him and try to start a conversation.
But plenty of people did. it's okay.
I've also bumped into Kevin Schwantz a few times. I did talk to him briefly but that was because he and his dad were squatting down examining my bike in a parking lot. i didn't ask to have my pic taken with him. But his site has a section where you can post a foto if you have taken a picture with him.

Thank you for the link. I really love the site.

Steve, that's cool. Which bike? The one you had at Austin a couple years ago?

73 RD350. all cafe'd out. It was something to behold back then because it was a bit before the cafe racer craze reemerged.

Me and Monica with the RD350
KS standing in front of my YRS50's. I didn't take that pic. (was sent to me)

NOW FLAME ME FOR THE 2007 ASSEN PAINT JOB!

:russian_roulette:

I have tattoos of Joey Dunlop and David Jefferies done when I was a whippersnapper, it was the start of a TT themed sleeve that I've not had the chance to finish.

You can say that again. I'd maybe say to a handful of top racers who deserve it 'thank you for your contribution to the sport', or something to that effect, and keep walking. And that's if I ran into them. No other celeb would get even that from me either. And tattoing a guy's logo on you? That not only sounds ... to me, but points to some kind of inferiority complex, phychological shortcoming, or something. A confident person doesn't need to look up to anybody, especially a freaking celebrity or athlete. Most are not even close to being real role models anyway. But as the saying goes, to each his own:cool:.

Spot on! That is exactly how I feel about celebrities & the rest.
