Espargaro to Yamaha?

That seems to be related more to your inexplicable dislike of Cal Crutchlow than anything to do with "racin".  Just when did Cal run over your family pet/ sleep with your wife /machine gun down your family?

This is why moto gp is dieing your going to have all top factory bikes with spanish riders. no one from the us or other country's be interested once rossi and nicky leave. i like dovi hope they can get the ducati to work but ive been waiting a long time for that. how do they expect the sport to grow if all you have is spanish riders. you must find talent from other countires like wsbk. get more americans riders and stop the favoritism for spanish riders. oh and those saying nicky is a sellout what decison make you say that her turned down a two year contract from ducati where did you want him to go to a satellite bike? you always want to stay on a factory bike i hope cal will get a shot on the yamaha bike. if suzuki was smart they would sign him up and maybe ben or nicky.

Why the hell doesn't Brent McCormick have a ride? Dude was a champ in WSBK last year.

Already know the answer, but if people are going to ..... about a very old wooden ship why not add some countries that have zero representation? Americans? I love the country, but there are already 2.5 in motoGP right now. Brent would be awesome. The American fans may even adopt him as a funny talking cousin.

I agree.  Not only that, but doesn't Canada own Dorna now? ;)  Seriously though, I would love to see McCormick have a go on Alexis' bike or Baustista's.  What's been going on with Brett anyway?  What is he up to now?  You know, I rooted for him when he was in the AMA.  And if you can go back to the incident he had were he was given a penalty for a crash, you will me on his side.  I thought it was a ........ penalty and all about politics in favor of Graves and Herrin.

Damn right we own it, fat load of good it's doing Brett.

He's doing some motocross and going back to school. I think after his accident he said FU to paying for a seat. It's a shame things are they way they are, he'd do well with a competitive ride in sbk. Him on the Go and Fun would rule !!! I could bring my flag to the track!!

I have read some dumb .... on Powerslide, and this is right up there.

Suzuki could use Cal as the fast, limit pushing guy, and maybe Dovi as the development guy (he has ridden a lot of different bikes), or one of those two with a young up and coming rider. But Ben or Nicky? Only if the US market is more important than the distant hope of one day returning to winning races.

I miss Suzuki. It was always the bike I wanted to get up against the odds when it rained or there was high attrition or the whole field came down with food poisoning...

Agreed, If the desmo is the result of Nicky's development skills he needs to stay where he is.

Nobody cares what the US thinks - you aren't part of the MotoGP purse. Your viewing figures are just slightly below wood chopping and tractor pulls.

If you want to "stop the favoritism for spanish riders" work at getting a decent race series in the US where they race the same bikes as are raced internationally, rather than Hardleys and your own variant of Superbikes - which is at odds with the rest of the world. You lot do .... all for racing - your tracks are (mostly) ..... and your motorcycle association couldn't organise a .... in a brothel.

The reason Spain has all these hot young riders is because they have spent a huge amount of time and money making it happen.

For the same reason, the US is number one in off-road and ATV racing - because you have a lot of it, have invested a lot of time and money into it and have pretty much set the benchmark. If you want to do well in GP racing, pull your finger out and treat road-racing the same way.

Back to that old chestnut...

The crew and rider don't develop ..... They feed back to the development engineers, who then make major changes. The crew then works with those changes to see whether they make the bike faster or not.

Many, many race engineers have stated this over the years - unless you own the team and are responsible for the development (Like KR/Foggy/Tech3), all you do is the fine tuning and feedback. Nowadays the likes of Tech3 don't even get to do the engine mods - there's a man from Yamaha with a laptop who is the only one allowed to change settings.

That's my point, pre Audi Ducati didn't listen to anyone, including Stoner.  To put the development woes on Hayden soley is ridiculous.

My apologies...

Yep, I'm with you - not that Hayden can ride for ...., but to put the Ducati development problems at his feet is absurd.

LOL...Hayden can ride, you don't get a World Championship because you lucked into it.

Hayden's riding abilities notwithstanding, I had hoped he would move to WSBK this year, his style IMO is more suited to Superbike.  Unfortnutately I think Hayden fans are just in for more disappointment because he has no desire to go there, and if in fact Ducati want to keep an American rider on their bikes for the forseeable future, he may very well wind up on the GP14 next year, wait and see I guess?

The fact of the matter is that the best talent in the world, right now, is Spanish. If any other country starts producing a stream of world-champion-caliber riders, you can rest assured that they will find themselves with the proper equipment. There is no conspiracy to keep Spain's riders atop the standings—in fact, there have been numerous conferences discussing how the sport can grow outside of southern Europe in terms of rider talent and financially. To champion for more American riders, when the best we have to offer right now simply can't hang, is nothing short of the favoritism you accused Dorna of in the first place.

Oh, and yes, I'd have preferred Nicky to take a satellite Honda or Yamaha if it was available. But I suspect there wasn't one available to him, and if there was, I imagine he lacks the personal sponsorship to pay for it and his salary. He's not a sellout, but I imagine Ducati is the only team in MotoGP that would pay him.

Ducati North America may beg for an American rider, and they may even subsidize it—I don't know if Bologna's getting any sort of a kick back for employing Hayden, but it wouldn't surprise me—but eventually the marketing power of Hayden is a losing proposition when weighted against the competitive nature of the series at present. If Audi's going to pour money into this project, it doesn't make a lot of sense to sell a factory seat to Ducati NA. Audi makes plenty of money in the US as is, and frankly, Ducati sold a lot of bikes here well before Hayden was their American poster child.

In my opinion, this is his last year in MotoGP. My bet is Ducati offers him a factory [supported] gig in World Superbike with a wage packet not far off what he makes now in the interest of keeping Americans happy. He's said numerous times that he has no interest in World Supers. It will be interesting to see if that's still the case when his options are factory Ducati in World Supers or riding for Michael Jordan in the AMA. Wouldn't surprise me to see him back in the AMA.

A. Nonsense. Simply by virtue of the sheer size of our population as compared to Spain - the US market is very much consequential. Then there is the money paid to Dorna for the re-broadcast rights in the US.

B. How many racetracks in the US have you ever been to? Laguna, Elkhart Lake, Mid Ohio, Road Atlanta, NJ Motorsportsw just off the top of my head are all great facilities. Road Atlanta maybe not so great for attendees - but a challenging one to master. How many great tracks are there in the UK. Two? There must be something right with our tracks. Look how many world champions In GP classes and WSBK have cut their teeth riding in the USA. And pretty much all of them have done it on a shoestring budget.
