Sounds extremely smart to me. There may be new entries in 2014 and paying Casey or Jlo would probably be the cheapest and quickest way to make any bike .5 sec faster.

Risky as well. I would rather have a guaranteed 2 year 25 million, than 1 year at 15 million Thats if i had intentions of racing past 2013. Maybe he really just wants to move on.

Rossi & Stoner both racing for Ducati would have Preziosi on pit wall giving Casey the Gladiator style thumbs down for destroy him..
I do hope Stoner go back again to Ducati and move to Yamaha or Suzuki in 2014 before retiring...

I think that he's waiting to see how all of these "pop up" rules changes will affect the grid in the future. Rule changes to end "the 4-bike-only podium possibility",, because it bores the ..... out of many (including sponsors). (3 engines, 1 chassis, 3 tires, 4K rev limit, 12 helmets) And the CRT band-aid, as it is now, doesn't work and won't last once the novelty wears off,, and Ellisons team sees no point in getting on a plane,, what next? All CRT or no CRT.
Stoner on a CRT? ,, might as well ride Supersport in Australia,, he gets to go home every night.
As much as we all love Casey and regard him as the Tamer of Ducati, He only won 1 title for ducati. on the Ducati he wasn't as hard to beat as he is on the Honda. I doubt he would want to go back to struggling past 2013. If Casey would have been on the honda the year (2008) That the whole Corkscrew fiasco went down with Rossi at laguna, it would have never happened Casey would have been way too far ahead of Rossi
