<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Aston @ Jul 6 2006, 07:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Exactly... Then why should MotoGP.com, Or anyone for that matter, say that Dani pedrosa is on Rossi's level? The topic shouldn't even be a thought, BECAUSE Dani is a rookie. I believe that You just proved my point. Thanks.

But bottom line, Pedrosa will accomplish nothing compared to what rossi has accomplished. As long as Rossi is still riding, Pedrosa will only be second best.. if that.

So just because you where at 1 GP then you automatically know how everyone feels and who everone cheers for? How about Mugello? how do you know they weren't cheering for rossi? Where you there?
Any real motorcycle rider/fan knows, that a smoke show is a real way to celebrate. Plus, who doesn't like the smell of burned rubber? If Dani had any feelings then he would have celebrated too.
Again, in order in which they are received.

Because in the four months that Pedrosa has been racing, he has been on Rossi's level. I could be wrong here, so someone please correct me if I am, but I do believe little Dani leads Rossi in the standings. I'm not saying it will stay that way, but at the present moment that's the way it stands. So that is why you see MotoGP and most other educated observers saying that Dani is on Rossi's level.

This whole "Dani will accomplish nothing while Rossi is around" is pure speculation. It is your opinion and I have no right to try to demean it but my opinion is that Dani will do great things.

I don't claim to know how everyone at a Grand Prix feels. What I did say is I attended a Grand Prix, 1 out of 150,000, I do count as a person you know. And although I am only one person, I was not cheering for Valentino Rossi. Therefore, not everyone at every Grand Prix is cheering for Rossi. You follow?

You're absolutely right, any motorcycle enthusiast knows that a big, smoky burnout is THE way to celebrate. And I do love the smell of burnt rubber. But what exactly was Rossi celebrating? Twelfth to second? I've seen him win races and celebrate less. Had he done a burnout out on track then that would have been fine by me. But he had to do it in parc ferme in front of Dani so everyone could see that he is Valentino Rossi the great and Dani Pedrosa is just the reserved little snob who never smiles. Grow up Vale. Fact of the matter is that Rossi has a history of overshadowing victors when he gets on the podium and Donny was no different. Why should anyone else have time in the lime light?

And thanks to those of you who supported my previous thoughts. And dude, why piss on people for agreement? Why don't you just leave people's opinions be rather than telling people to "hop off his nuts." Squid.

I would say I agree with you, Ooost, but I wouldn`t want to be accused of having a sexual relationship with you again.

Dani Leads Rossi in the standings Because well, Do you want the numerical or alphabetical list?

Chassis Problems, Tires, Motor, injury, crash on the first race... and on and on.,, Yet somehow hes still in third. If Dani ever goes through what Rossi has gone through this season, he will not accomplish what rossi has. Sorry, but as much as you want to be the one who doesnt cheer on rossi BECAUSE hes the best, You have to commend him on going 12th to second while injured.. on his right hand nonetheless. Whens the last time Dani won a race while injured? or a ruined bike? Oh wait, he didnt and only complained about what problems his bike/team had.

YES. Rossi WAS Celebrating 12th to second.. why? well like I said he was injured, while everyone was rooting against him winning.. Nonetheless he won a terrific battle between Melandri... AND he finished second while Nicky finished in 7th.. Moving him up a spot in the Championship standings.....look at it this way Oooooost If you had a fractured hand, and started @ 12th place, and beat a rider in a terrific battle and got second, AND moved up a spot in the overall championship points, wouldn't you celebrate also? I bet you would.

Rossi was not being rude.. he was just expressing his happiness, like we've seen many times before...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Squid.

Oh wow, Someone who all of a sudden doesnt really agree with your statements is all of a sudden a "squid"? By the looks of it I believe I have some knowledge about MotoGP It might not be up to the standards of your high and mighty knowledge, but it does look like I am far from a "Squid". You have absolutely no Idea what my backround is, so please don't assume I know nothing about MotoGP/motorcycles/racing.

Have a nice day.

I don't think Rossi celebrates a certain way just to overshadow someone, he just celebrates the way he wants to celebrate and if anyone did that when he had won, he would love it! And as for Dani being a reserved little snob, thats a little unfair. He is his own person, he doesn't need to change the way he is for everyone else. True racing fans should appreciate him for his talent not his personality. (that goes for Rossi too)

CAN EVERYONE PLEASE STOP THE DANI BASHING!!!!

I guess you only got to tell that to Aston here. He seems to personally hate Dani so much that he's unwilling to recognise the rookie's superb potential in his MotoGP debut.

No one is assuming you know nothing about motoGP. It`s obvious that you do know a lot about it. The squid remark was a referal to your disrespect for other members for simply agreeing with what Ooost said.

Writer, I appreciate your efforts, but I got a feeling your words are falling on deaf ears

"Chassis Problems, Tires, Motor, injury, crash on the first race... and on and on." That's a part of racing, Rossi could have had the all mighty RCV but he decided that he didn't need it to win and I commend him for it. I grow tired of people blaming the M1 for his troubles, keep in mind that he chose to leave Honda for Yamaha. It's not like he lost the best ride in the paddock, he left it.

I never said Rossi had no need to celebrate, it was a good ride. But the thing of it is, he didn't win the race. You want to ask me how I would feel if I just rode from 12th to 2nd with a broken hand, I would feel pretty good and certainly I would celebrate in the proper manner. But now I ask you, you're a 20 year old rookie and you've won just your second race in your first season and the guy who's won countless other races comes in and does a big burnout right in front of you and in front of your team and family and friends and fans. I know I wouldn't be pleased if someone did that to me.

The Squid comment is not because you don't agree with me. Like I said in my last post in reference to you, you have your opinions and I have no right to try to demean them. The Squid comment is because for one reason or another, you refuse to accept the fact that Dani Pedrosa is something special and WILL be a rival to Rossi if he already isn't considered one. Also, because you felt it necessary to tell other members to "hop off my balls" because they agreed with me. In my own personal opinion I thought that was pretty rude.

No hard feelings man but you just pushed some buttons.

ooost im not blaming all rossis problems but its a fact im afraid,, he is the best by far, id like to c people say he isnt, i think we all hate the bashing of riders but rossi gets just as much as others, if and he does cum through the field quite often it seems its just him doing a good job but its a great legend doing sumthink special but then if marco does the same its a ride outa the history books.. as i said earlier its a fact, u have a fair point thow its racing..
