Catalunya Race Thread (Spoilers)

Congrats to Stoner. Spies finally no bad luck. Abraham deserves MotoGP ride. Rdp, 1/5 finishes.

Yamaha on par with Honda, only diff is Casey. Ducati putting all eggs in Rossi basket, FAIL.

Yep.... as they pour more money, time and energy into the bike getting still the same results - Stoner's

rides in years past continue to look more impressive.

Uhm... do they have another basket?

I think its pretty clear he means the withdrawal from WSBK ...... which has a lot of people shaking their heads and saying ........

Ducati ...... you ......s
<

And now Rossi is just cruising around not even trying.

Barry its fans of RACING, not exclusively boppers who found this race boring...

Nobody is as stupid as you are pretending to be right now ...........
<

Stoner fans are over the moon

Lorenzo fans are pretty happy

Spies fans should be pretty happy

Crutchlows fanbase must be growing and they would be happy

its just you Boppers who are sooking about how "boring" things are ........... and frankly I don't blame you !

I'm coming around to the idea that since day one on the Duc. ( the greatest winning 800cc bike their has been ) Rossi has been giving excuse and ........ day in day out ........ that bike in Stoners hands was deadly ..... now look.
<

and as many are saying ......

"Fark meee!! .... they threw away WSBK for that! "

What's going on with Hayden? 25 secs behind Rossi is a lot...

no offence to hayden fans, but he just isnt good enough. he should save himself some face and move onto WSBK. And loris needs to find the retirement home. battling for 10th isnt where you should be.

time for some new blood next year and get rid of these has beens.

Yes Barry, do we always have to spell things out for you mon ami? I am neither a fan of Stoner, nor Jorge, nor Spies, nor Rossi, nor Hayden, nor any of the other RIDERS. I am a fan of the sport and of RACING... I would have got more enjoyment outta watching a televised club race than todays non-spectacle...

There we go with the crap again ............ you are and and have always been .............. a big bopper
<

don't now start denying it

if you were a fan of racing you would recognize that for many the race was great.
<

for all the good rossi has done he has done a few .... ups.... he was resposible for demanding the single tire rule... yet ironically he was the only person on the grid getting tires flown in overnight enroute to his world championship....

even JB said there will be no variety in results. the best riders will just ride away and give no chance to the lessor talented riders. so true it is, and now with all the money devoted to motogp, ducati says bye bye to wsbk.... boooooo

and now he says 800's are boring, there is no passing, its too dangerous, too much electronics... yeh i didnt hear those comments in 08 and 09 did we.....

You've got to remember that Barry watched that race with a hard-on.

Here we go the boppers back with the incoherent drivel again
<

WHyTF would you even think anyone could get a "hard-on" over a bike race ? win or lose
<

sook away pricks its not getting your favourite rider more motivated as he should be.

No just you

Why oh why oh why did Randy go Pramac!!
<

Because it was either that or go to Moto2 or World Superbike. If I remember correctly, Dorna subsidized Elias' move to LCR. Either that, or it was highly encouraged by Dorna and funded by Spanish backing. Past that, the rumor was that the relationship between de Puniet and Cecchinello had soured.

Rossi wasn't the only one. Pretty much all the top Michelin runners were getting them. Hayden and Pedrosa were for sure getting them, and I'd be very surprised if Gibernau and Melandri weren't getting them in their strong years. Edwards was also a personal tester, I'd be surprised if he wasn't getting the special rubber as well.

And Rossi has been saying the 800s are boring and have too many electronics for years, this is nothing new and has nothing to do with his disappointing results.

A perfect Stoner, he rides in a stellar way and deserves the wins. Good also to see Spies on the podium.

Sic complained about a lack of rear grip -- probably the mutable track conditions that affected averybody, affected him more.

Yamahas found a step forward. So did Ducati to a lesser extent. Actually in the races (not in fast laps, hence the difficulty in qualifying at the front) Rossi is performing more or less on the same times Stoner used to do with the Ducati, -- the problem is that the others, especially Honda, have improved a lot while they seem to have many problems still to solve. Ducati now looks better with the front end, but the problems are now at the rear. They are in fact experimenting with different linkages for the rear shock absorber. Something new in that area will be ready for Mugello.

Ah, about Ducati putting all their eggs in Rossi's basket at the expense of WSBK: Checa is doing pretty well on his "satellite" 1198, looking at that maybe Ducati should "retire" from MotoGP as well!
<

I wondered how long you guys were going to start saying its boring.

I would like to back MR MD up.

Yes i am a Rossi Fan, i also like edwards, cal, JT52 (when he was in) Pedders, stoner gives a good race and Jorge. I've found the last 3 years maybe have become some what boring for everyday people to watch. Its ok having your favourite riders going off and constantly being a postcode away from 3,4,5 placing. But this is no fun. The best races for me are for the ones where the 1,2,3,4,5 postitions have all been closley finished and i would personally would like this to happen 90% of the time, its shows a riders skill and will power to win. Being a postcode away from the next rider just proves mental endurance to be out there on your own that long.

I found todays race was again won by the 2 out front riders almost from get go and then the little battle for a few laps.

Why has this sport started to become almost predictable just like F1! iS IT BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF FUNDS AND RIDERS ON THE GRID????

Or something else, like talent not able to come through the ranks so quick to give the front runners a good run year on year. Would the racing become more exciting if there was more riders on the grid.

Or how about one or two racers in the year being handcaps???!!!
<

Congrtas CS once again - strong controlled fast ride didn't bore me at all, with JL behind those first few laps you could just see CS thinking lets see if you can hold on ! He was charging great to watch.

Damn if only Pedbot was riding as I'm sure he would have been fighting up front with CS or at least possibly taking points off JL.

Sic's move on Hayden was a killer - noice ! pity he just couldn't get closer to Rossi to challenge.

Dovi did well despatching VR and consolidating his place. Good luck to Spies kept it together the entire race.

Crutchlow well done !
