I thought Rossi might make it a memorable one.

He's very conscious of the show, and if he's racing another Yamaha with pace, he doesn't have to worry as much about Lorenzo riding off into the distance.

Full credit to Lorenzo though, I don't think Rossi anticipated being pushed that hard.

Top ten for Nicky, but Kallio is still in front of him.

WOW that race was great. now i already see a battle bettwen rossi and lorenzo and it's was fantastic rossi superb takeover in last corner and superb lorenzo to make rossi push so hard and lorenzo great attitude unlike stoner who upset when rossi beat him at laguna 08 well we hope to see like this in next race but congrat to Rossi, Lorenzo and Stoner

WOW WOW WOW cant stop watching it....

after watching that final corner lunge at that speed and managing to keeping the bike inline is something very very special indeed.

just that 1 final lap for me is worth more than all the races ive seen so far this season whoever ended up making the move.

....... amazing... absolutly amazing

Staggering .... those last 3 laps with the tires turning into spam, making Rossi's ability to hold a tight line all the more impressive. I said before I've never been a fan - but truly, I'm not worthy.
<
I really thought Moto GP races like this were a thing of the past.

This is Rossi. Even the haters should thank him for making MotoGP so beautiful...

I've seen, I think, all 18 editions of the Catalunya GP. I do not remember a pass in that corner in any class--certainly it never happened at the last lap. Simply stunning.

One has to create a kind of space-time warp to insert a bike at 160 kmh in an invisible opportunity-window like that... magic.

Lorenzo reacted well to the blow though, he did not look for any excuses after the race. That spells good for more battles to come

Full credit to DORNA, they've finally figured out how to make close racing in the 800cc era.

All you need is nearly identically-sized riders with nearly identical skill levels who ride for the same manufacturer who employ nearly identical teams with identical budgets and identical technology that is used to prepare nearly identical bikes that race on identical tires at the same circuit on the same day at the same time under the exact same conditions.

GP is fixed!!!

In the mean time I'm going to enjoy one of the most epic battles in GP history.
<

I'm also going to wonder how epic this battle could have been if Ben Spies were on a Tech 3 Yamaha with full factory support.

Face it. They got away because Stoner was deathbed sick. Otherwise...2nd and 3rd?

edit: Taking nothing away from the amazing finish that is...

I think you need to wake up, there is no way a fit Stoner wuld have kept with them.

He was pushing them really hard at the beginning, he started dropping off of the pace badly after 3 or 4 laps. He loaf around the course until Dovi caught him. When necessary Stoner would trim his lap times by .5 to pull a gap on Dovi.

Stoner set the fastest lap.

I'm not sure he would have beaten either Vale or Jorge today, but he was on their pace.

THe dude was ill. I mean he set the fastest lap of the race and still managed to fight being sick in that unbearable heat and finish on the podium. People need to realize that Casey is no joke. He is among the best there is really when you think about it especially when he is supposedly on a bike no one else can really comes to grip with. I wonder what Rossi would do on the DUC. It just may be that Vale couldn't come to grips with it. I am more inclined to believe that he could be you just can't go saying that he would. Look what everyone though about what would happen with Melandri. Big surprise. Stoner did an amazing job today in a race he wasn't really up for from the start. I think had he been in really good health today he would have been able to win no doubt.

That was an amazing race.

First an interesting observation. Yamaha have really found a great deal of extra straight line speed since 2007. When you look at the top speed charts they are near the top. It was amazing seeing Jorge seemingly pull away slightly from Stoner on the start/finish straight. I don't know if Stoner was using a fuel saving map, but none the less amazing stuff.

The race itself was incredible. It really seemed to me like Rossi was letting Lorenzo by. Probably to watch his lines, but also maybe to push him into making a mistake. Towards the end it was obvious that Rossi was going to make a move. When he actually did I expected him to pull out a little gap, but it seemed as if Lorenzo had more to give too.

I have to say I thought it was over when Rossi couldn't make a move on the back straight on the last lap. I didn't think it was possible to make a move in the last corner. I honestly don't know if I could see any other rider make that move. Well, maybe Lorenzo himself. One thing is sure: this is not something Pedrosa would do...

Looks like we're in for one hell of a season. I still think Rossi or Stoner are the most likely to take the championship. Lorenzo is riding great, but I have a feeling he can come off the bike anytime when he rides like he did today. In the end I think Rossis experience will prevail over Lorenzo, but who knows.

Too bad Stoner was ill. Impressive riding considering the circumstances though. Maybe he would've been up there with Rossi and Lorenzo if he were 100%.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Evolution @ Jun 14 2009, 02:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Lorenzo have some more lessons to take from the king. In the interviews on motogp.com Rossi was an artist of PR as always while Lorenzo was somewhat pale and he needs to work on his English.

I think his English is pretty good - better than your Spanish I'll bet

Loved that ......' pass by Vale....Outbraked Horhey, tucked his knee in and passed him on the outside....GOAT.

Fair play to Lorenzo though. Great ride from a great rider

What a ...... amazin race mates
<
.

-I think Lorenzo will be the one who goes to beat Rossi out of the Motogp maybe, if Vale does'nt win a few championships as fast as possible and retire.

He get's beter and beter every race, and Rossi is getting older and it will get more and more difficult for him.

I think today Lorenzo was a bit faster but Rossi has still more experience and that helped him.
what a few last laps.

that move with Rossi pushing his knee to his bike and passing Lorenzo and that pass in the last corner were the most beautiful ones.

-Casey did a good job too. and now the first 3 riders in the standings have 106 points.
it cant get anymore exiting than this.

oh man just now i watched that last lap again. and after that Suzy asked JB where is your heart right now? and JB answered something like i,m going to retired?? or something like that.everybody

was having trouble with taking breath on that last lap.
If it's that exiting for us, how difficult would it be for those people working with the riders like JB?
i,m very glad for him today.

This is the best situation for all the fans and specially me, since i go to watch the next gp live in Assen.bring it on mates.I hope to watch a cracking race there.
