Well phlem...relevance to the thread...speak for yourself...and what a ridiculous thing to say..you read the interview C_L_O_S_E_L_Y...phlem brain....and please don’t say ...” BTW...if the LCR was so ...., he should have learnt to settle for points, rather than try to become a hero-a-race”...phlem brain....read the I_N_T_E_R_V_I_E_W !!!

I have to agree with phleg (look carefully at the spelling) and say that if Casey's equipment wasn't up to it he should have just ridden it to what it could do, rather than falling off it so often. I appreciate that a rookie will crash often as part of their learning curve, but i think Casey had a few too many.

You may have given up hope, but i don't think his fans have just yet. Ducati themselfes are on the borderline, as am I. Your bias is clear as usual.

Tommy PLEASE...PLEASE...PLEASE!!!!....I think his fans have given up HOPE!!! A very long time ago!!! About little winze Loris winning a world championship like 1992...or whenever he joined the 500/motoGP circuit!!!...Loris PLEASE!!!>>>PLEASE!!!>>>PLEASE!!! GIVE UP...but iI know why Loris is in the motoGP it’s because he’s supporting his family!!! Nothing more and NOTHING les!!!...But that is fair enough if Ducati or any other of motoGP teams are that way inclined!!!...But I must tell them that “HE WILL NEVER BE A WORLD CHAMP” at best he will give them what a test rider at ½ the price will convey to them anyways!!!

I think Loris is racing because he loves it, its his passion. I wouldn't blame him for wanting to continue either, considering he was a regular race winner just months ago.

To paraphrase a great movie line from your (and my) era, why all the negative waves, man?

Capirossi seems like a pretty good bloke and was as recently as last year a very good rider. I am a Ducati fan almost as much as an Australian fan and supported him for the world championship last year, and I think he easily could have won. He also beat Troy Bayliss most of the time when they were on the same bike as I recall. He has given his fans a lot to cheer about over a long career, so why decry them for being loyal to him now? If Casey Stoner is still contending for world championships at age 33 it will be quite remarkable.

As for his performance this year, I have to disagree with posts by some of the Capirossi fans. I don't think you can blame Stoner or Ducati; the team management would be sacked for not tailoring their program to the rider with the chance of winning the Championship. As many have said, perhaps the 800cc bike does not suit his riding style. Alternatively, he may just have finally gotten old; as far as I am aware this has happened to every previous motor cycle rider in history, and this situation will doubtless continue unless Casey Stoner really is God.

I don't blame him either but I just can't see Loris making any significant impact on this sport anymore! The thing that's so frustrating, IMO, is the fact that people in different sports can't recognise when it is time to leave! Leaving ducati for another factory at his age is not going to improve his situation. Time passes, and people should move on, I think he still has the talent to podium or maybe even win again, but I can't see Loris winning a title in the premier class! And to me, if you don't have realistic expectations of winning the title at his age, pass on the baton to the younger generation!

To an extent i agree with you, but if he can still be competative (top 10 riders in the world) and is still loving racing then why should he stop. I don't think he will ever be the champion, but a change of team could be the shakeup he needs to inject a little bit more life into the end of his career.

I can understand why he would continue to want to race, but like I said, in so many sports, people don't know when to give it away! If I could ride a motorcycle like these guys, I wouldn't want to quit either! Once you've retired, the only chance you've got to ride them is very limited.. i.e. reviewing them for magazines, guest rides etc. but there comes a time when everyone must face the retirement future! I just wish more people would recognise when their time is up!

Well who says his time is up? If a big team still wants him to ride their bike and he still enjoys the job then i would say his time isn't up.

Tom, i totally aggree

big teams do still want him to race as i posted earlier in this thread

three big factory teams to be precise

kwacka,suzuki and ducati

if he is still able to race and has the drive to continue i aggree that a change of team could just be what he needs

I don't think he will win a rider's world championship now but he is probably still capable of winning races and could be very valuable paired with a young charger; 2 young chargers in the one team can be a problem.

No Son...What I really think about Loris is this:...He really thinks that Ducati owes him BigBigBig Time!!! You know for all the years (5 years) at Ducati but with all credit to Mr. Suppo he has given him that recognition and more what with offering Loris an exclusive 3rd bike in 2008!!! But...Mr. Capirossi ...WANTS THE SAME talent(s) and success as Mr Stoner has achieved in 2007...BUT and this is a BIGBIGBIG BUT>>> HE JUST HASENT GOT THE TALENT TO COMPAE, COMPETE WITH Mr. Stoner’s talents!!!...AND Mr. Capirossi HAS GOT THE ..... FOR THAT!!!

Well in 2007 it’s an even playing FIELD NOW BOY”S & GIRLS!!!...and unfortunately the Yamaha, Honda and all the satellite teams except Grisini were caught OUT!!!...BIG ....!!! & BAD LUCK BOYS!!!...as youse have had the ADVANTAGE FROM MICHELIN FOR FAR TO LONG AND YEARS FROM YEARS PAST!!!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Burky @ Jul 25 2007, 02:24 AM) <div class='quotemain'>
I quote the final Q and A from this article.....

SpeedTV: Kenny Junior told me in France that he and Valentino were going to go to the Safety Committee and ask that the tire rules be changed back to what they were. That didn’t happened, but a lot of riders, Michelin riders, are asking to change things back for next year.

C.S: Why? It was completely unfair what was happening last year. At the beginning of the season you watch any interview with Valentino, Colin Edwards, the other Michelin riders and they were ‘yeah, yeah, no problem with the tires. I’m stoked with it, we haven’t got any problems’. And then they are not winning and straight away the tire rule is crap…’it is destroying our season’. They even admit that they had tires flown in or driven in overnight, special tires for the occasion, and Bridgestone didn’t have that option. And where is the fairness in that? These new rules are making the class a lot closer and fairer. Everybody was talking about my Ducati being too fast at the beginning of the season, but that’s because Ducati did their work. But what about these special tires being brought in…how fair is that compared to just having a fast bike under the same rules as everybody else?

So..........................

The playing field has been levelled, and the results unexpected. But the truth is Casey is whipping ... because of his ability to learn and improve. He's a very fast and clever kid, and I'm full of admiration for his achievments this year.
I agree Burky, eloquently put.
