Casey Stoner Interview: July 5,2007

I don't buy any of his "my bike was changing all on its own" crap, he wasn't riding Herbie! I think this is more likely an example of what happens when a riders head isn't right, and this season has shown what can be done when it is!

The only thing I could attribute that to is getting crap tires from michelin on race day, which just seems weird. I certainly can't imagine little Honda Ninjas breaking sneaking around in the paddock and messing with satellite bikes, nor can I imagine an HRC henchman hiding out with a remote to screw with his power delivery. I can't see why a team would let anything change that they didn't change themselves or let anyone else near their bike. They would have to change tires of course, but beyond that, what?

I have to agree with Tom and disagree with Casey only on this.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm......Surely it would be Kawasaki Ninjas.......

quote SpeedTV: When you took the pole in Qatar in only your second MotoGP race and were leading Rossi over the first part of the race, were you surprised to be going that well so soon?

C.S: Yeah, well Dani did it in the first race in Jerez and Dani and I had battled all through the 2005 250 season. It was a little bit frustrating because coming into that season of MotoGP everybody just looked at Dani. Sure, he has a lot better resumé than me going up into MotoGP -- he’d won championships -- but I had pushed him. But everybody seemed to completely forget about me and they were all saying that Dani was going to be the fast one out of us. But as I got on a bigger bike and in a real factory team for the first time and I now know what Valentino and Dani have had their whole careers from the beginning and with factory technical people around them… I have sort of been on my own the last three years and I have had to go through hard times that have made me a stronger person.

Why is Stoner talking like this? in the 250s he had an aprilia which is a dominant bike in that category. Dani was on a honda..
He also says that rossi was always on the best equipment..did stoner watch the 500 races... and when rossi switched to yamaha from the all mighty honda, was rossi on the best equipment?

Stoner makes some sence, but hes just talkig smack there..
Him and Marco had the same tires last year and guess what.....

This is the first season (excluding his year on the KTM125) he has been in a factory team ... I think that is what he was talking about. He had factory kit with LCR but it was not the factory team!

having more sets to choose from dont mean your going to choose the right set. look at the race before laguna. Caparossi chose the right tire, stoner prob had the choice to go with caparossi's tire, but he chose the wrong one and suffered. he not complain. he make mistake

Capirossi was running a different engine which was softer in its power delivery. That will have had an effect on the tyre usage so perhaps Capirossi's tyre wasnt an option for Casey.

maybe so, but loris specificaly said he took a gamble and ran different compound than all the other bridgestone riders.

Which is fine, but irrelevant if the bikes aren't really comparable.

I’M REALLY SICK AND TIRED OF Mr. Capirossi’s excuses!!! He’s A BIG LITTLE LOOSER!!!..What with Mr. Livio Suppo making every excuse for the guy!!! And even trying to give this unsuccessful rider a dream ride in 2008!!! What???...any other rider would give his ALL for the opportunity that this little “.... he’s got from Ducati!!!

This point is irrelevant and i disagree with it anyway. Capriossi doesn't have excuses, quite the opposite in fact since Ducati are going out of their way to give him a helping hand to get on terms with Stoner. To me that is an addmission of his inferior adaptation to the new bike, which is supported by the interviews where Loris describes Casey's techniques and confesses he can't do it.

haha, i found it funny at the start of the year he only made like top 6 and stoner was 1,2 or 3, they say loris was because his wife had a baby.

then when loris finally got a 3rd, they said he finally got his mind of his baby and is riding well.

now 6 weeks later what his excuse again???

always excuse for poor qualifying and poor race results. yes he had 1 mechanical issues, but really he not once has been faster than stoner

You may have given up hope, but i don't think his fans have just yet. Ducati themselfes are on the borderline, as am I. Your bias is clear as usual.

yes he was, but only toward the back end of the race. tires proved the difference.

qualifying stoner WAS the fastest.

no excuse just saying for pure speed loris is not in the same league as stoner (or rossi and pedrosa).

You can't critisize Capirossi for having so many "excuses" when he doesn't, then lie and tell me Capirossi has never been faster only to use an excuse when i make an example of you.
