Let's face it the British booed because they don't have anyone themselves. It's called jealousy! Been a long time since Bazza Sheene and he wanted to be an Aussie anyway.

Sheene was as good as an honourary aussie anyway .... he loved this place.

Bazza Sheen probably one of the greatest motorcycle ambassadors of all time and racer who called a spade a spade actually hated the British fans and officials who over the years only acknowledged him when he was winning but at the latter part of his career treated him quite badly, and that is why he had enough of England and as he said came to Australia a country where fans are passionate about their motorcycle racing.
 
I have to put a comment here with regards to the above thread.

There were some boos at the day of champions which was not received well by Julian and Toby .
It seemed weird to me there was a hell of a lot of Rossi Fans present and maybe it does go to show a possible change of some of their mentalities towards a potential threat to his championship reign.
The day of champions is about charity and along with Caseys helmet and products the day was a total success completely surpassing last years.

I personally think some peoples perception of Casey goes back to his not so good GP debut last year when he spent a lot of his time on his Arse and when things dont go his way , him and ducati close shop .
Prime example is Mugello when he finished , straight back into THE GARAGE and doors closed.
With wins at dony hopefully peoples attitude towards him will change along with maybe his towards others as his maturity grows.

Ok sorry about that, mate...the first part is some Australian slang...but after all that article was made by a British MCN site, I didn’t make it up I didn’t ment it as regards to ALL BRITISH FANS...and that is what I was trying to point out....no offence was intended...let’s be friends!!!...its all tongue and cheek!!!

Anyway, here are my thoughts. Those who booed him in the man's face lack class. (Unless they had a good reason, which isn't the case). I once heard a crowd boo Mat Mladin, but it was in reaction only, to some ungracious comments he said about Eric Bostrom during a post race interview. But, worse here, that it was done at a charity event in this case. So I'm not opposed to fans voicing their discontent when it is warranted. But I don't see it warranted in this case. But I'm sure it was only a few unclassy fans and certainly not the whole of any fans of the sport or Rossi fans.

Oh, about soccer/football. Well if you don't think there has been violence incited at matches in any country (not just England), well you need to come out of your cave. I feel much safer riding my bike at 160mph than sitting at a match.

Either way, I think Stoner had the last laugh.
