And judging his performance in the limelight “HE WAS NOT A GREAT RACER”!!! A great RACER is a guy(s) like Spencer (but he had the best machinery in those day’s and as Sheen commented (about te Honda & Spencer in thse days...how can I compete with that when I’m riding around in a “Supermarket Trolley”!!!...bum bum...great words from a great MAN & A REAL AMBASSODOR & CHAMPION!!!...”WE MISSSS U BAZZZA”!!!!)...ok to go on...Gardner, Doohan, Rainey, Lawson..etc etc..And of course coming to the modern era....the ONE & ONLY THE KING Mr. V. ROSSI....
BUT NOW we have the CHALLENGER’s...Mr. C. Stoner, Mr. WHOOOOOO????????? I CANT THINK OF ANY OTHER TO THE KINGS CROWN EXCEPT THE KING!!! “Long Live The King”!!!...lol

im not a fan of his but 2003 was Gibernau's most consistent season, winning 4 races including the Dutch TT, to gain a total of 277 points - the highest of any rider not to win the championship. a little more than ordinary i would say.

funny how you call him SeteCrasher when it was your boy stoner who finished his career.

I believe Kawasaki are making an announcement at Laguna regarding their 2008 rider lineup.

Really? Have some class. This is just pure bias, you show absolutely no support for your dislike of Gibernau. As mentioned he had an outstanding 2003, 2004 was no different, 2005 he had a worse year (luck wise) than Rossi's 2006 and in 2006 he could never get healthy.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ Jul 13 2007, 04:39 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>im not a fan of his but 2003 was Gibernau's most consistent season, winning 4 races including the Dutch TT, to gain a total of 277 points - the highest of any rider not to win the championship. a little more than ordinary i would say.

Great point Roger. Yes, Sete was much better than his numbers show, and only a person who really follows the sport would see this. If I was to pick who was Rossi's rival in the premiere class (not that anybody was close to Rossi anyway), but at least a consistent challenger, I would pick Sete (some might pick Biaggi but I think it was more media hype rather than track challenge). Sete came second to Rossi, that's saying something in this competitive sport. I'm one of those odd fans of the sport that has a tremendous respect for both Sete and Max (I say odd because many fans, especially Rossi fans I've met, dislike these two). It pains me that they never had a championship in the top class, but then again, when you got a man like Rossi around, well getting second is almost as good as winning a title.

How's that for fate saying ".... you"!

Capirossi must be getting the boot from Ducati. I can't understand how or why he would leave a team that seems to be trying everything they can to get him on the box. He had a new engine for Mugello/Cataluyna didn't work so well. Now they've given him another solution to try in between the Standard and Mugello engine. IMO Ducati are giving him whatever he needs to get the job done.

To me Ducati are committed to getting Capirossi as fast as Stoner, maybe he feels differently, but from here it doesn't look that way.

I'm not too sure I want Loris in Kawa, he's seem to have lost the mojo, and he was never a good development rider so I'm not too sure it's a good option to dump Randy for Loris (if they don't have 3 bikes).

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Teomolca @ Jul 13 2007, 08:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Is the Capirossi to Kawa rumour confirmed????

I don't think so and the latest rumor I've heard is that Capirossi turned it down. Heard it from a road racer, whitch means it's less reliable than otherwise ;-)

if i was kawa boss, i would not dump randy for capi, randy is on the up and i think with good support and mentoring he will do a stoner in the next couple of seasons,

I'd keep DePuniet for sure, even if it means running a third bike. Westy will be forced to Suzuki or something.

This amazes me also. Imagine if he rode for Honda who clearly don't give a .... about any other rider then their number one. He will certainly realise he made a mistake when he leaves. Although Ducati's comments today suggest they are waiting to see if he can perform again before they get to contract signing stage. If he doesn't perform then others are welcome to him.

Maybe he just fell dissapointed, he can compete with the champion but never get full support from factory team.....

what is he doing now? anybody know???

I hope your right, I think Ant has done remarkably well in his first three rounds on a GP bike (thus far.) To be able to qualify twelfth at Saschenring, only half a second from the stoned-one whilst adjusting to quali tyres really says alot about his adaptability..

If Kawasaki keep DePuniet over West then i sure hope another team picks him up.. Ant's goal for the rest of the year = start beating the other green bike..

I don't think Ant will beat DePuniet, i think Randy is closer to Hopkins then West is to randy. However i d think West can do enough to get a job next year, whether its a green bike or not.
