Oro Station Circuit Earns FIA Environmental Accreditation

Just file this info away in the back of your mind. I don't think they've even broken ground yet, but some Canadian motorsport people are working closely with the FIA to get a new track built.

If they get the runoff right, it could be homologated by the FIM.

Meh, being a southern Ontarian, I'll be super skeptical... Kesh, check out Calabogie, North of Ottawa if ur heading Montreal way, great track. Also Mont Tremblay track is fun too!!

Of all the existing Canadian circuits, Mont Tremblant probably has the most potential for hosting an FIM racing event for MotoGP or SBK. As much as I would love to see a Canadian GP at the circuit, I doubt enough money could be found to modify the paddock and increase runoff area.

It's a shame because it is a stunning circuit with a classic feel to it.

Oh well, we'll have to see if this new circuit gets off the ground, and if the owners have the foresight to speak with the FIM to make sure runoff area is enough for bikes.
