Can Hayden win on Sunday?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Eagle088 @ Oct 25 2006, 04:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Hang on there a minute slick. Did anyone see that press conference where Hayden told Rossi to learn some manners and have some respect for other people.

If you didn't I will set it up for you. Rossi and Marco were at a pre-race press conference with Nicky. Rossi and Marco had answered all of their questions and were sitting together and giggling while they were looking at Rossi's phone. Hayden stopped his answer to a question and got both of their attention and said that. I have never seen Hayden intimidated by anyone. Not even Mat Mladin. Trust me, when you are a teenager Mat Mladin is a scary and intimidating man. I have raced with him twice and I always made sure that I watched for blue flags so that I could get my ... out of the way when he would come flying by. Everyone else I would just hold my line and let them pick their way through. Hayden knows he deserves to be in the position that he is in, and he knows that Rossi is just a man.

Listen "bro"....don't call me slick again. I'm older than you, so I can only assume you're trying to be a friggin wiseass....

This isn't about a pissing contest "pal"......What I was bringing up had to do with RACING....not who's .... is bigger when hangin at a press conference. I'd put my money on Hayden too....he's pretty cut and Rossi is a lanky ............and if you've raced with Mladin...that's awesome, but unfortunately it has nothing to do with my post.....

Damn Eagle, you're quickly making friends! lol

The Doc 79, thats just Eagle talking. He is in law-school so you know how they can pick the wrong tone of voice with us common people lol.

Nice experience though to be racing with Mladin Eagle. Not many people can say that. I was wondering who that damn lapper in the way was! Now I know who!

Of course he can!

Will he do it?
We will have to wait and see?

Is it going to be a good race?? No matter who wins it?
Of course, its MotoGP, .......!
agree, agree, agree...

... agree

No way will Hayden Win. OK I am being unfair I should give him a chance that equals his win percentage. 3wins/66GPs=.045 so he has a 4.5% chance.

What everyone needs to understand is that Rossi has had pretty much the worst year on record for bad luck, and Hayden has finished at every round. No matter what anybody says, everyone has some bad luck in a racing season, and Haydens happened at Estoril.
If Hayden didnt have this bad luck then he would have probably won the championship, but to me this isnt a true champion, a true champion is one that wins races, and bounces back from bad luck.
Although i would love Rossi to win again, simply because of the bad season he has had. If Hayden wins the championship this sunday, to me it will mean he IS a true champion, because he has bounced back from some bad luck.
Its just my thoughts, but looking at the season stats, and how many times Rossi has DNF'd then he stands out way more than Hayden!

Here's hoping that you make Nastradamus look like some two-bit palm reader.

Who are you picking a fight with?

Every god damn person in this thread has posted there thoughts on what might happen this weekend and you've got the damn nerve to single out me? If your looking for an argument, we can have an arguement. If you want I can respond to every single post you make and some dumb ... comment like what you have just done. If you want I can come down to your pathetic level, is that what you want? If not shut up and go about your business in an orderly fasion.

I've deleted the f-words.........please use the report post button instead of reacting like this - Ben

Everyone including myself have had good debates with Mofo.....I've asked around Racejumkie and there was one opinion of Mofo that stood out......

What she said.....

Thanks for that snippet Eagle088. That sounds very insightful and I would love to have seen it.

I think someone's adherance to manners and rules are indicative about someone's personality. I don't doubt Rossi's talent but I don't have much time for his overblown ego.

LADIES, LADIES, easy..... lets not get the panties all buched up...

1-This is going to be a sweet ... race.....

2-Rossi will be riding his best.

3-Hayden will be riding his best.

4-Pedrosa will still be short and hated for many years to come.

True...True....
I managed to find a recording of Earl Hayden's advice about Valencia and Dani that he told Nicky moments ago.....

Earl's advice to Nicky

Ermmm........ thats pretty clever of you

Mofo, are you smoking crack?

You need to read my reply a little more carefully. Apparently you don't understand how wittiness works. You need to read my reply a little more carefully. But since you have shown your ignorant side, which made you go off on that childish temper tantrum calling me out, I will break it down for you.

First of all, I was AGREEING with you. I singled you out because out of all the responses, I agreed with yours the most. So lets see:

What I said:
“Hey Electric Mofo, are you using your crystal ball again? Or did you just call the psychic network?”

What I meant:
Hey Electric Mofo, I think you’re predictions are correct, it looks like you can see into the future.

Why it’s witty: (by the way, here is what the dictionary says: Witty---saying something amusing and clever.)

It’s witty because I said you are correct and I think you can see into the future but I said it in a clever and amusing (funny) way by making references to crystal balls and psychics.

Here is the second part of my statement: (Allow me to give you some background here. Nastradamus was a famous man in history that many believe was able to predict accurately some future events, which some people believe came true.)

What I said:
“Here's hoping that you make Nastradamus look like some two-bit palm reader.”

What I meant:
Since I agree with your predictions, I hope that you can make this man Nastradamus look silly because you are more accurate than him; and by doing so, you will make him look bad (like a two-bit palm reader).

Why it’s witty:
It’s witty to say it like this because it brings up a sense of humor while saying I am hoping (or eagerly in support) for you and your predictions to come true.

In case you didn’t understand, here is one more attempt:

What I meant in my reply to your predictions is: I LIKE YOUR PREDICTION, YES, I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT.

Let me repeat that: I LIKE YOUR PREDICTION, YES, I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT.

I hope you understand now, because if you don’t I can’t really make it more simple.
Now, as far as your response, I have no problem having you look up my comments and reply to them. That’s one reason why I post comments. Actually, I’ve seen you have already on some previous threads and notice they were pretty cool, but maybe I was wrong. Do you feel better now? Or do you feel a bit stupid for insulting me while I was really just trying to praise you?

How interesting. Doc 79, you say to “keep it light boys” but you get all bent out of shape because Eagle088 calls you “slick”? I think you need a lesson on wit also. By the way, what Eagle had to say was completely relevant to your opinion which questioned Hayden’s backbone. Eagle's point, which you seemed to miss, was trying to say something about Hayden’s strength of character by giving you and example of how he stood up for himself while others were not being respectful. Which of course says something about his strength of character to be displayed on the track while racing.

Ok. I hear you. But remember kid.....different things push peoples buttons....like perhaps me just referring to you as kid. That's a personal .... It has nothing to do with MotoGP. Its condesending. Now I appreciate you standing up for Eagle, but his opinion had NOTHING to do with what I was saying.....the reason is this......I was talking about Rossi and Hayden on the track.....period....what Eagle was saying is that backbone in a press room translates to the track.....WRONG....I'm a Rossi fan, but I'd be the first to say that off the bike...he'd get his ... handed to him in a fight (unless its Biaggi of course).
To make your (and Eagle's) point hold water you'd have to agree to this......"If I make a stand in a press room in front of Rossi for showing his phone to Marco.....that means I can hold my own in a dogfight on the track with Rossi....."

Good luck.

Hey, I don't appreciate you calling me "kid" (Just kidding) Now you see, that is wit. Get it? You called me "kid" then I said I was "kidding".

Well I guess it’s just a difference of opinion. I think you can infer something about a man's character in diverse situations; and its reasonable to believe that these characteristics will be evident in other aspects or activities of life, namely on the track. It seems that you think it’s a stretch to make a correlation with a person demanding respect during a press conference and also demand it on the track. I don’t. I believe that if Hayden demanded respect at the press conference (from two giants of the sport no less), I suspect it’s because he respects himself, and this will definitely show up on the track. I guess we just see it differently.
