Garry

It must be C-3PO Version 2.0 Built 10.600000 from manufacturing line B. And the thing is that a place to put the main Chip was needed very accessible even with a helmet on (for those bike changes when declared wet race), so sticking out teeth were the best possible solution. Also two wireless antennas were required because at high leaning angles the signal was lost, so the best possible solution for this was to disguise both as the ears! (Just joking still)...

Well, Elias still is 12th even with his podium, what does he think?

I see all this chatting about Melandri and Kallio, but no mention of the Capi's performance. Has Suzuki stepped it up or was this a fluke ride by Capi?
On to Indy!

I mention Cappi did great even on a Crapi! Cheers mate.

Just watched the race, was gone for the weekend. Little boring until lolo caught up to rossi, but I guess "around the outside" isn't his nickname for nothing. Now on to casey jr. err pedrobot 2.0, what a bonehead. Blind spot my ..., unless his cro-magnon forehead causes a blind spot directly in front of him. So easy a caveman could do it. I was really hoping marco was going to start slap boxing with him, "chick fight!" The only thing better would be if Kilio and Pedro got in to a verbal argument, have you ever heard two robots yell at each other?

If you think it's that easy you should go do some racing and show everyone how it's done.

Kallio did take the fastest line, MM just went on the brakes later and dove in but was a lot slower through the corner which contributed to the crash. Notice the speed difference mid corner and when Mika gets on the throttle accelerating out. If Mika had been able to go around MM without getting off the throttle MM would've been left in the dust coming out of it.

You're a moron if you took that literally. Thanks for the info brainiac.

I doubt he was thinking about Melandri, just 6th place! Compare Kallio's times to edwards just before crash. He was certainly not looking back and that was obviously the problem.

Who said he was looking back? He has a pit board that tells him who's behind him and by how much. He also has a lap timer on his dash that tells him his lap times.

You think Kallio ran the whole race not reading his pit board.

I guess he's a stupider rider than we all already thought.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Fiat Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo was the fastest man during the first three hours of testing at Brno on Monday, registering a rapid time of 1’56.171 on the 25th of his 32 laps, even though he and his team-mate Valentino Rossi were the last riders to appear on track.
That time by Lorenzo was close to the new pole record set by Rossi on Saturday as the Spaniard successfully tested clutch and electronics settings and some new parts for 2010. Rossi was 0.867s behind Lorenzo in third place on the timesheet.
Dani Pedrosa was second quickest, half a second down on Lorenzo as the Catalan rider and his Repsol Honda colleague Andrea Dovizioso (fifth fastest so far) tested suspension systems amongst other items.
Loris Capirossi was fourth on the timesheet as he and Rizla Suzuki team-mate Chris Vermeulen tested their new chassis and engines.
There were crashes without consequence for Scot Racing’s Gabor Talmacsi and Ducati’s Nicky Hayden, whilst Spaniard David de Gea, who was testing for BQR and Dunlop on a Moto2 bike, crashed on his 19th lap, ending his day’s workout due to a foot injury. Shuhei Aoyama is therefore expected to stand in for De Gea this afternoon. motogp.com

I laughed my ... off when I heard that too. His calm soft spoken demeanor made it even funnier.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (mylexicon @ Aug 16 2009, 11:25 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Anyway, I'm not sure Lorenzo's problems are being caused by any foul play with the tires. For two years running Lorenzo has been mysteriously slow at Jerez. Imo, the Brno problems seem to be part of a pattern for Lorenzo. If there is any conspiracy, it might be that they are actually changing the compounds slightly for the races on Sunday. Why? Because it creates unpredictable results that supposedly improve viewership. What is unpredictable about the most adaptable rider always winning?
<

Boring race after the Lorenzo crash, but I need to see the races before I critique.
<

Why the hell would Lorenzo be slower. He is consistent in every practice and warm up, then in the race he's slower
<
?? It could just be race day conditions, but everyone else was on a similar pace as they had been all week. Maybe he is just searching for an excuse but I am going to take him for his word for the time being. Jorge needs to start sleeping with his bike and learn the algorithm structure of his electronics
<

I don't remember Rossi riding wheelies during the race, can anyone elighten me, has this ever happened. Good on him to build a 15 second lead. His remark about enjoying the scenery on the last laps was pretty funny. Yamaha have definitely found something because they are miles in front of everyone else except for Stoner.

kallio Melandri incident. It's weird but if you look at Kallios helmet it doesn't appear to be looking into the turn at all like riders normally do. Of course the only other person I see doing this style is Elias but Kallio was definitely sleeping on this one.

Good on Hayden, he still needs to find a lot of improvement though.

Poor Talmasci, last place in a race where he had 30 40K fans there to see him

At least he finished the race though.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (clarkjw @ Aug 16 2009, 07:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>FWIW, Kallio also ran into the back of Hayden this year.

Yes and lay the blame on Hayden.

After looking at the photos posted here it confirms for me what I originally thought. Kalio tossed it in hot as to ride around the outside of Marco and got it a bit wrong. If you replay and do a frame by frame his left foot is already coming off the foot peg as he gets into the back of Marco. I can't believe he is blaming Marco. The guy is loosing points with me.

Look at the photo; Marco is a full bike length ahead of him! Kalio's response is hard to swallow.

Lorenzo back to the business

This gets even more interesting, at least for me. Fast in practice then slow in race then back to fast in practice. Some chaulk it up to nerves or choking. Somehow I'm not buying it.

Pasini very strong for a first outing. That's good to see. I think that we may see him take Canepa's seat??

Bad to see 3 riders a second quicker than the next quickest.

Hayden broke down in practice, so is that a toasted engine?? He only has 4 left then? Is that the life if a Ducati engine. Race weekend and practice and then, boom. That's not good.

surely this engine rule does not apply to tests, only race's quali , and free practice. if it did they would never be able to test new engines.

Hes had unreliability issues since start of season. Didnt he have 2 mechanicals in one weekend this season? Cant remember but i think so. Btw, u think Hayden & Kallio mite discuss the similarity of the time he hit Nicky and now Marco?

Yea, you gotta wonder about Horhay's raceday speed. The way he was throwing down fast laps during the practice sessions, he should have blitzed the field. Maybe he picked (was assigned!?
<
) a slightly 'bad' tire or two for the race. Maybe Rossi bought a 'Rubens Button' from Ferrari back when he was screwing around driving their car. "I poosh zees button, Whorgay go slow. Muhahahahah!"

Engine life rule SUCKS. It introduces yet another non-racing aspect to 'manage' during the race. The fuel limit is worse, but this only compounds the 'Economy Run' mindset that the sport has drifted into. Screw that, I want to see riders going 100% for the duration!
