Updated: Austin is coming to Austin.

But he has already broken the bad news to me...no all access press pass for me this year !

Food for thought....

Turn 1 - Good view from the pit straight up to the corner but thats pretty much it. Although I thought it was exciting to see the F1 cars coming up the hill (steep!), they quickly disappear on the dip heading to turn 2. I imagine that it will be cool to be there when the flag drops but boring after.

Turn 2 - Sucky view from here as the bikes will come from behind you so fast you wont be able to see or take pictures unless you move like a ninja.

Turn 3 - is a bit better than 2 but you will need to stick your neck out to see them going through the Esses (4 & 5)

Turn 4 - Awesome view from the Esses but the bikes will go back down towards 5 & 6. Still, it should be cool to see them go left-right-left-right wide open. The F1 cars were skidding on all fours with the traction control screaming through it. Very loud Positive thing: its close to the bridge that can take you to the Grand Plaza where most vendors and food concessions are. They had vendors everywhere during the F1 race but I dont expect the same for MotoGP.

Turn 5 & 6  Great view of the Esses plus the bikes will cut very close to the stands going through 6. One of my favorites for sure. The downside is that is far away from the bridge and other amenities.

Turn 9 & 10 - Awesome view from 7 & 8 then hauling downhill to 10 & 11. Another good one if you dont mind walking (or waiting for the shuttle that circulates around the track).

Turn 11 - I watched the F1 race from there. We had a great view of the cars coming down from 10, and throwing the anchor to make it around 11. After negotiating the hairpin, is a mad dash down the main straight to 12. Motor home parking is along the straightway so they had a great view of the cars. We saw a few passing maneuvers there during the F1 race but I think that overtaking through a hairpin is more suitable to motorcycles than cars. Besides, the entrance is very wide allowing 4-6 side-by-side bikes to brake into the corner.

Turn 12 - In my opinion, the best spot to watch a race there. Inspired by the Nurburgring stadium, we watched Qualifying from Section 10, row 14 which cleared the view from the fence by about 2 ft and positioned us dead in front of the little straight that leads to 13 which is actually 3 corners in one continuing with a clear view all the way under the bridge.Turn 15  - (F1 premium seating) Better view from the stadium as well but the bikes arent as close as they are from 12 and you wont be able to hear the downshift & acceleration the way we did.Turn 19 & 20  - (there are no stands on 16-18) all high end ($$) suites here however, there was a great view from the lawn right before 19 (the purple areas are GA seating).

On the work part it is gonna be either corner marshal, flag marshal or bike/rider transport. I can't think of a better way to get closer to the action. Plus free entry and special hotel pricing. I also get to walk around in the fancy MotoGP overalls all weekend.

Heads up..

Hey guys, I found this fantasy motogp  also

quite nice. It also gives a chance to us own a motogp team.

I'm down. Just made a team.  You should make a thread for this.

I've been doing this for f1 the past two years on fantasyleaguef1.com

this is very similar so it seems...

Spamming one thread would be semi-cool.  5 makes you a FOOL!

Should I be receiving my tickets in the mail or do I just print them out or something? I think I read something about this here already but can't remember.

EDIT: Just talked to COTA, the tickets get mailed out on March 27th.

I can't seem to find their transportation plan for the Motogp race.

Wondering if they will do the shuttle from Expo and Downtown sites as they did for the F1 race?

Anyone knows?

I dont think they are doing that.  They didn't have as much paved parking during f1 as they do now.  But I saw something on their parking maps that shows colored lots but they do not say anything about them.  I think I might email them.  The security at the test said they were expecting 80k people.  I think it will just be paid parking.
