well all Elsick has gotten out of DSB is a date to the prom with a fat girl (that husky Buell) and the rep of a piss poor attitude/dirty racer when his 2009 title was criticized as a fluke.
All he had to do was back it up with a title on a 600cc bike to shut up the critics that he needs a bike bike to win over the small bikes in the class......but when the chips were on the line he could not do it and lashed out like a cornered dog.
Jumkie, Pov, thought the same thing....strange.
I just finished talking to a couple of buddies who are paddock insiders. Turns out there is a reason why its all quiet on the western front. A few things I found out, make of it what you will:
A) During the proceedings, it was discussed considering a black flag during final laps of race #2...
AMA, has not posted official results...perhaps considering a DQ...
C) Behind closed doors, AMA considering what to do about Herrin's camp calling out Eslick during nationally televised interview...
D) Behind closed doors, AMA considering what to do about Eslicks response during a nationally televised interview...
E) Behind closed doors, AMA considering what ramifications such a rivalry would have on ticket sales...
C) Behind closed doors, AMA considering solutions for everybody to save face...
Thats the one they will use, it looks good on paper and means nothing except Eslick loses his earnings from the race.

Since they didn't do "A", "B" is the best option.

Factory, I have trouble understanding your takes, and the ones I do understand, I usually have trouble agreeing with most of it. I'm sure you follow racing, so to bring up the Buell while realizing that Eslick actually lead points for most of this year should give you a clue regarding his talent (like him or hate him). Infact, as you correctly say in your second point, had he been more interested in title rather than settling s vendetta, we might be talking about him backing up a title on a 600. You say he "could not do it" I say he chose not to do it. Had he put the moves on Cardenas he put on Herrin, I'd say he would have won.
So your saying that different riders have different rules. Clinton Sellers was suspended for a whole 2 race event because he bonzied turn one at VIR. Eslick tries numerous times, then succeeds in crashing another rider and you think a public apology and probation will be good. What do you think Sellers would have chose if given the option. Miss 2 races, or give an apology. They have got to be equal in their punishment or their headed for another firestorm
Pov, there's been raw carnage all over the track in DSB since DMG took over (and before that). Seller hitting Herrin was the first instance of Yamaha on Yamaha violence for front running riders and teams. Seller was suspended. We don't know what Seller said to other people after the race. We have no idea who pushed for his suspension. All we know is that a Project 1 guy hit Grave's championship-contending golden boy, and the Project 1 guy got suspended.
The double standard would only get worse if they suspend Eslick. Ram whoever you want as long as it's not Herrin? That would be the new rule if Eslick is suspended.
Furthermore, if you're going to suspend Eslick, then you've got to put McCormick in the electric chair b/c he nearly killed Eric.
No you do not. accidents happen, what Eslick was doing to Herrin was no accident.
The double standard would only get worse if they suspend Eslick. Ram whoever you want as long as it's not Herrin?
How you came to that conclusion is beyond me. If your suspended for purposely running another rider of the track, it doesnt matter what his ....... name is. The message is, we are not going to put up with this ..... The next time, it will be a 2 event suspension, or till we get your attention. If that dont do it, go find yourself another series. We have lost a bunch of young riders to accidents lately, we dont need to be losing riders to grudges.
I rewatched the race, but it wasn't as bad as I remember. Josh went down the inside, Eslick swung wide so he could execute an outside-inside repass.
.
They've been knocking one another off all season. Danny got punted at Mid Ohio by Fong. Fong took out Westby at New Jersey. Danny mugged Westby at Road Atlanta, and I think Westby mugged Herrin the next day. Those are just the instances I can think of off the top of my head.
DMG cannot allow carnage all over the race track and then hand down 2 suspensions to people for hitting Josh Herrin when he's trying to win a title. The only rotten move Danny made was parking Herrin in the grass prior to the red flag. If they are going to suspend him, they should do it for that move.
However, I think it would be dumb to suspend or DQ anyone b/c it's just going to make things worse. If you suspend Danny, JU is going to get bent out of shape and Josh Herrin will be the wussy teacher's pet. If you put everyone on probation and the teams issue apologies and explanations, we can all move on. If Josh and Graves are honest with themselves Josh wasn't going to win the title.
He had as good a shot as any of them. If Eslick doesnt punt him,Herrin is the leader with a couple laps to go. Eslick still has a chance at the title if he gets back by Herrin and wins. Cardenas is sitting in third, having to get by Eslick to secure the title. In those circumstances, anything can happen. In this scenario, With Herrin winning, Eslick finishing second, and Cardenas 3rd, guess who won the title
Herrin 397
Eslick 397
Cardenas 396
Herrin wins title on wins
Now tell me why Graves and Josh shouldnt have thought they could win the title. You do realize that Herrin was passing for the lead when he got punted , dont you.
