An understandable response?? I don't think as a professional and current champion, that he should have carried that attitude or response off the track into an interview. It just shows that he is not a good sport ...

Factory, did you watch the interview? Some out of the picture dude says something to him and ends it with "...you piece of ....!" And Eslick had a knee-jerk reaction to say "Bring it on ......./MF (not sure of last explative). Yeah, it was unprofessional, but .... I think I would have replied in kind.

After watching the post race conference, Eslick mentions that Herrin has a habit of leaning on him while Josh is in the outside, and goes on to say how that is idiotic because Herrin is compromised at that point. And that is exactly how he ended up going down. It looks like in Eslicks mind, Herrin is trying to punk him but is doing it under a position of more risk to himself. I sorta agree. Even though I think Eslick could keep it clean, his response was to lean back, and boom, there goes Herrin.

Check yeeself before you wreck yeeself Eslick. I learned so much from Scottt Russell this year.

Shocker. Way to mix in the word "lynch" in your post. As a guy from Alabama you're sure not reinforcing any stereotypes

MC Russell, next on MTV cribs.

Follow me here and this is just me, but please post your view.

If I've got a lot of money and want an up and coming DSB rider for my new Superbike team, Eslick just knocked himself down to the bottom of the list in my eyes. Your trying to win a championship not only for yourself but your team......read that again...yourself and YOUR TEAM! What a bonehead move. Even if the kid is winning, I don't want my team associated with this type of riding. Eslick can ride the hell out of a bike and I think he can win without using his bike as a battering ram, hell you can't ride up front of the DSB series without some talent.

Congrats to Hayes even though I was rooting for the elder Hayden. Props to Hopper for a great showing this weekend.

Anyone know the skinny of who will be in the Superbike series next year, any DSB guys graduating to SBK? Even if there are no DSB grads, SBK is shaping up to be a hell of a season with a healthy Hopper, Bostrom, and Young....bring on 2011!

If teamwork is the measure of a rider than Eslick is at the top of the list b/c he punted the competition which basically ensured that Suzuki (specifically a Hammer-tuned Suzuki) would take the title. If teamwork is all that matters, Eslick should get a big bonus check from Suzuki, imo. The 600s are a very big market in the US.

I agree his actions were suspect, but I think sportsmanship is the only grounds upon which he can be judged. Unfortunately, who wants sportsmanship other than the fans? DMG probably need these rivalries to sell tickets. AMA needs the rivalries b/c raw competitiveness is what makes guy's go faster. Suzuki probably don't care at all. Yamaha care, but they can't do anything. Imo, the only people who might care are Geico. I'm not sure an insurance company wants to sponsor a rider who intentionally wrecks other people.

On the SBK front for next year, I'm a little worried. There aren't enough bikes for the guys who need to be out there riding. Hopper is paid by Monster so they might move him somewhere else. His M4 SBK isn't exactly competitive without traction control even though John outbrakes everyone by about 10m. Personally, I hope Suzuki give John some electronics technicians b/c he's the only person for Suzuki who can hunt down Hayes, imo. RMR needs to promote Eslick. Just swap the 600s for 1000s and use Hammer for technical assistance.

Imo, Holden and McCormick need rides for next season. They are good enough. Yamaha need to run another factory bike for DiSalvo. He's a primadonna, but he can ride a Yamaha R1. Roger Lee Hayden needs to get his head out of his ... and quit wasting away on a Pedercini. If Kawasaki won't even keep Sykes they sure as hell aren't going to promote Hayden, imo. Hopefully, E Boz will heal up and return.

Cardenas is the tough one. Stay or go? I want him to vacate DSB so Herrin can take the crown and hopefully get a bit of confidence, but the thought of Cardenas on a 1000 is just terrifying. Ask T Hayden.

I'm most interested in: 1. What happens to Aquino? 2. Are Kawasaki and Honda done cutting off their own noses?

Cardenas should be looking at Moto 2,as should Herrin. And Moto 2 should be looking at them.

I just watched the interview. I'm torn. I really think Eslick is a talent which is saying something b/c he's an Okey. Texans and Okeys get along until it comes to sports. But however great his talents may be, his excitable nature is really a double edged sword. He would have been better off to take the Mat Mladin approach (he almost did). Leaning on someone from the outside is stupid b/c they can run you out into the grass. That's an old move since the beginning of road racing and it would have been perfectly legit to run him off for leaning from the outside. Unfortunately, Danny didn't put him into the grass at turn 5. Danny got passed and then he wedged his bike into a place where there was no room which put Herrin on the floor.

Imo, you can't talk a bunch of trash when you wrecked a guy just b/c you think he wronged you. If he's leaning on the outside, you can put him in the grass. Fair play. If he comes back and passes you later, you don't get to wreck him again just for the hell of it. Eslick comes across as being a dumb backwoods Okey in the interview. It's a shame b/c he's a really solid rider who's great fun to watch.

Like Povol says. The sport would be best served if Herrin grows some balls on track. No more handbags in the press conferences.

Scott Russell sounds like a fucken ......! Eslick's Move was Dirty and the Herrins should put foot to ... on the OKIE .......! Josh is a very calm kid though, doesn't seem like much of a fighter! I was Happy to see cardenas win it instead of Eslick! Being that Cardenas is Colombian at least they have something positive to be proud of now in Colombia! (besides they're gorgeous woman). It's very rare to see somebody who is not American European or Austrailian wining championships at any level. In My opinion Herrin is the Best candidate for Moto2 being that he's the youngest but has the most experience.

I know that someone had words with him/for him.....but Eslick, as a professional, needs to know when to turn the other cheek and not get drawn into a 7th grade argument. If that guy jumped off a bridge...would Eslick have to respond by following that person off the edge??

I do not support the person who made comments to Eslick either....2 wrongs do not make a right.

My son and I were watching the interview and both of us thought he said "....."....lol

Lex, interesting point of view about team work. However this kid seems to be a loose cannon, what's to say he wouldn't turn on his own teammate and ruin the championship for both?

Anybody who thinks that kind of racing behavior is ok, needs to remember that we have already had two people die this year...

Eslick was too focused on acting like a spoiled 7 year old, then a professional trying to win a championship. That was not a "fair game" run someone wide move. Neither was the previous one where he basically stood him up with a supercross block. Herrin passed him and Eslick stuffed his bike in where there was no room. He all but said he was going to do it beforehand, also.

If I was Herrin, Eslick and I would be having a "chat" behind the semis.

It was Herrins dad who said " Nice punt, you piece of ....". Eslick responds, " Bring it on ....."

I'm pretty sure Eslick just got removed from the Herrin Christmas card distribution.

it would have been great if Eslick charged after Herrin's dad looking for a fight only to have the Nolan Ryan vs Robin Ventura part 2 take place and have an old man teach a young punk a lesson!! Maybe Herrin's father would get to pitch Advil in a commercial after he beat Eslick down!!

Eslick would stomp Herrins ..., and they both know it. That is why Eslick keeps bullying him, he knows Herrin cant do anything about it . He should take some martial arts classes or something in the off season to gain some confidence when dealing with a bully. He also needs to retaliate and knock Eslick out of a race or 2 if the AMA doesnt hand down a severe enough penalty. A little off topic, but speaking of martial arts, remember a while back i was telling you about my nephews. One of them tested recently for his 5th degree black belt. His instructor, a friend of ours, who has instructed all of my kids, nieces and nephews, tested for his 7th degree. Pretty impressive stuff.

I know HE would have, that's I why I said it would have been different if it was me. I fight for fun and money! haha!

Really, though, the kids I teach brazilian jiu jitsu and MMA to, and adults for that matter, all know when to fight, and when not to fight. I would have to advise them off the record on how to handle that situation! haha!

I think Eslick may have hurt his career a bit, and I'm a big fan of his.

Pov, if Herrin did as you suggest, people would b saying what an "unprofessional" he is, right?

I don't like John Ulrich.

True, but they would also be saying that Eslick had it coming...

free pass for that one

Some may say Herrin had it coming...

BTW, is it me or has the media been very quiet on season finale smackdown?

well all Elsick has gotten out of DSB is a date to the prom with a fat girl (that husky Buell) and the rep of a piss poor attitude/dirty racer when his 2009 title was criticized as a fluke.

All he had to do was back it up with a title on a 600cc bike to shut up the critics that he needs a bike bike to win over the small bikes in the class......but when the chips were on the line he could not do it and lashed out like a cornered dog.
