All said and done great season ?

I was really disappointed at Rossi. Ever since he made Marquez crash on purpose, pretending he didn't see him, and obviously nobody saying anything because he's Rossi, the guy fell off my pedestal (so to speak). And kicking Marquez at Sepang was the drop that spilled the cup. He's a disgrace and an embarrassment to the sport. And he's supposed to be the 'mature' rider. And again, if it was ANYBODY else, he'd had been black-flagged immediately at Sepang. Instead, they let them finish. Whatever Marquez did (good or bad), it was well deserved for Rossi IMO. This guy is an a$$, and a sore loser too. When things don't go his way, everything is a conspiracy theory, and he's always right. For crying out loud, the kick couldn't have been more obvious, the guy calculating exactly when to kick him with repeated head turns. And absolutely obvious, especially in slow motion... but nobody dared to say the work 'kick'. Anyway, on the last race, Marquez could have attempted a pass, maybe. But no way in hell I'd have risked putting him on the ground and grant Rossi a win, when the championship is on the line. Rossi has nobody to blame but himself. His unpunished shenanigans caused Marquez to also change his view of him from childhood hero to ahole. And don't blame him. Now that Lorenzo deservedly won the championship, hopefully next season will be interesting, with at least all factory riders being competitive. This one had too many DNFs, and too many races tainted to be memorable. But glad Ducs and Suzukis made great progress.

I was thinking overall really, yes what happened with rossi was ....different but I thought
how they both were riding acceptable fantastic finale for the gp fan...F1 must wish for
a show like this

Great season, Lorenzo probably deserved it overall, just a shame that little prick Marquez can't accept losing and spoiled the season finale...........

Roll on 2016 and Michelin's, could get interesting!!

But he can beat a dead horse?:p Marquez already lost, and he was basically going to 'decide' the race one way or another. Either staying behind and favor Lorenzo, or make a very risky pass on Lorenzo and potentially crash him out of contention (look at the lap times man; Lorenzo wasn't just 'cruising', and with shot tires) and favor Rossi. Who would you favor? The guy who basically put you out of contention the first time he crashed him... or your compatriot who really deserved to win? Any other rider would have been black-flagged immediately for what Rossi did. And that's a fact (rules). So Marquez only made sure justice would prevail, if you want to look at it that way;). I'm a fan of the series now (used to be Rossi's), but glad it happened that way in the name of fairness. And bringing this guy down his untouchable status.

Finally, I agree with the fact the season went down to the last race, making it more interesting than F1 by far. Signingn off this thread; sorry to disappoint with my first comment here. See you folks next season (just found this site, by the way). Have a good one.

I must admit I haven't seen too many races this year...maybe one or two before Phillip Island - for me I am fast losing interest in not just MGP but ALL "sports" due to their corporatisation.

The imperative now is to entertain the masses at the expense of allowing a true contest between rival competitors. Rather than seeing real talent flourish we now have a stacked deck in place with results doctored to cater for the bottom line and key demographics that earn the most money for stakeholders.

When over 50% of the grid and all four factory riders belong to one of two nationalities there is something seriously out of balance. The situation is now at a critical juncture for the sport and must be addressed for the benefit of ALL.

The direction that MotoGP has taken recently has resulted in a perversion of everything I enjoy about sports. Fairness, sportsmanship and integrity are now sadly missing from the arena.

After the Phillip Island race I was on an absolute high...that race reminded me of the good ole days - the golden era of bike racing in the late 80's / early 90's where leather clad gladiators fought for the right to be crowned best of the best. And those riders were hard .......s but always fair.

Fast forward a few days to the Sepang press conference bombshell...up until that point I was happy to see Valentino Rossi win the crown and add to his long list of achievements. His performance against the young guns at age 36 was inspirational.

I also thought he had learnt humility from the Ducati experience and the death of his close friend - but he has obviously learnt nothing form his past mistakes.

To hear Rossi's baseless accusations against Marquez was for me baffling...to intimate that Marquez was trying to sabotage "his" world championship seemed inconceivable and NO ONE had previously suggested any such thing.

Is it then any wonder we saw the reaction of Marquez. To be publicly humiliated and have his name besmirched in such a way was bound to illicit a targeted response back at his accuser - which is exactly what we got.

Again I was on a high watching the hard but fair racing it produced. I was crouched on the edge of my seat and loving every second of this battle and thanking both riders for providing such entertaining viewing...and then the "kick" and subsequent crash of Marquez bought me crashing back to earth.

I was in a state of disbelief and shock at what I had just witnessed. At that point I felt completely duped and realised that no matter what happened from that point on the title had been tarnished.

The subsequent petulant and unsporting behaviour from the so-called greatest of all time has for me left his legacy in tatters. The response from the majority of his fans has been even more appalling.

In these situations I am left asking myself one question...

What would the true GOAT have done differently - What would Wayne Rainey do?

Rainey along with Troy Bayliss were true sporting heroes - gentleman on and off the track.

And that is the one thing Valentino Rossi will NEVER be able to emulate and why I will never accept his nomination for the title Greatest Of All Time

A great season has ended in shame for all, bought about by an individual who believes he is bigger than the sport.

The real fans of MotoGP deserve better than this. Lets hope the situation is addressed and we can return to some semblance of fairness where ALL the riders get the opportunities and respect they deserve.

After yet more pondering and as much as VR's actions of the last few weeks have turned me against him, controversy creates excitement and I for one can't ...... wait for the first race next year. (Unlike the majority of sheople who are apparently NEVER going to watch Motogp ever again)

I was reasonably satisfied until the Thursday of Sepang. The chain of events after which make me feel a bit cheated. I wasn't sad Jorge won the championship. I'm more sad he was acting like Vale afterwards, especially looking like a ....... ...... for the championship pictures and awards.

2016 season starts in about 6 hours. I am looking forward to it and hope it will be better than this year.

well said.

Fantastic year, but thank fukn God it's over (although from the rider comments that keep trickling out, it seems like there will still be plenty to talk about).

Can't wait for next season!
Go Ducati! (I can dream right?)
