Jumkie, I figured that if you had the pic of Reed with that shirt on, you would have been in some internet cafe in Daytona uploading it.

...yea, maybe a merged thread???

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (GatorDuc @ Mar 11 2010, 10:05 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>......Sorry, that's my fault. I didn't see the Daytona superbike thread. ..... Maybe we can merge them? Now I'm going to look for the other thread......I'm such a computer illiterate

Actually, it was my fault for not starting one just dedicated to our trip, in my haste to share I just started posting in superbike thread then realized my mistake.

Anyway, its just a couple clicks away, so no harm.

Yeah L8, you are so right, I would have uploaded that badboy from Reed's motorhome (I'm sure it has wireless).
<

Here are a few SX pics for you boys:

I went out and bought this T-shirt and set the trap to take a pic with Chad Reetard, but as we all know, he didn't make the race. (BTW, that cup in my hand is not me begging for money; actually its Levi's fault for corrupting me into dipping/chewing tobacco. That cup is half full of spit. (Yeah, that's what I said too) .
<

9036:trap_t.JPG]

Its was very cold (well for a Cali boy like me, anything under 45 F is freezing).
9033:group_sx.JPG]

The track was spectacular thanks to Levi's tip on sitting high up in the stands.
9034:sx_track.JPG]
9035:sx_track_fire.JPG]

Grant Langston crashed in the first lap and was out cold. They threw the red flag. They took a while to get him in the ambulance, which was frustrating for Gator who is an ER doc. (BTW, I read he's fine and is back in sunny Cali and will make a full recovery).
9037:langston.JPG]

Here is your Daytona SX winner! To bad JohnnyK couldn't make it, I would have liked to see him screaming like a little school girl cheering for Villopoto.

Gator brought a shitload of bikes.

So here I am, 3000 miles away from my home, and I get to ride this:

Kawi Mean Streak. This bike has a .... load of balls (its a 1600cc, so you do the math). I felt great on it and totally part of the scene since most people were on cruisers. 95% of the Daytona bike week crowd are on cruisers, so after that little escapade with that biker dude, I secretly decided that if we got into a mess again, I would just point to the boys on sportbikes and then point to the Mean Streak and say, I'm not with them. Hahaha. (The drink I had in my hand was a "gentlemen's" drink. Can anybody guess what it is?-- no its not tequila).
9039:Mean_Streak.JPG]

Its not every day you get a guy to let you ride his $25K bike...but Gator did.

This pic was taken after I gave poor Gator a scare. Levi lead us on this twisty road, on the way back Gator let me ride his 1098s. If you've ever been on one, it doesn't like slow. It actually will protest under 50 mph. On the way back, Gator was on my ... on his Speed Triple (probably the best all around bike I've ever ridden.) I was using both lanes (yeah, I know, dumb, but a 1098s in your hand makes you suddenly think you're at the track). Anyway, on one turn I came in a bit hot, broke heavily and tipped it in using all the asphalt available (that means the incoming lane too). It was a hairy move, but I knew I could use the other lane since, as somebody mentioned, Florida is flat and you can see what's ahead.) It looked worse than it was (as I have now convinced myself). But it did look like I might dump it into the dirt, which from Gator's perspective, it must have looked like a nightmare. I will admit (now of course) that it was a mistake (or as the Rossi fans would say, cutting a chicane is now the fastest way around.)

1098s

Here is the Speed Triple. I love this bike!
9041:Speed_Triple.JPG]

I also got to ride Levi's Monster. That bike is sweet. As if it didn't have enough torque, Levi has a full Termi on it. I hit the rev limiter in a hurry.

This is odd, seeing a Desmo being gassed up at a .... station....not something you see everyday. Of course we had to wait around for him to start it and sure enough it sounded awesome, but was a shame to hear that either he couldn't work the clutch very well or the clutch was slipping massively.

Bonni, don't you already live with a large reptile? Think of it as you already work in a place like this.

Good pics as usual Gator. The one with Carl's hand doing the venom extraction is quality.

Guys, you couldn't find a cooler group of people as Gator & Levi and company. I've thank them profusely, but it wouldn't hurt to thank them again here. I can only hope I can return the favor at Laguna. I'm still recovering actually, seems like when I got home my body started to detox; and I've been a bit sick. (Maybe it was the uncharacteristically cold Florida weather...or the half bottle of tequila, Makers, and assorted tasty beverages.
<

Hey L8 & Johnny, see that T-shirt I'm wearing (the one in the group picture)? That was the trap I had set for Reetard. I'll dispel with the suspense and tell you the guy was a no show. I couldn't find him anywhere. Sorry. At very least I'll post a few pics of the racing action.

(BTW, it seems we have several posts scattered about now, some here in the supercross (sx) thread and some in the superbike Daytona thread. Perhaps I may open a thread dedicated just to the Daytona trip in general?? Frosty, any suggestions? Can our posts be merged and moved?)

You got that right, but the weather over there is sooo much better over there + I could come and visit you all, if it was just a drive across country.

Huh? Twisty Road in Florida? What's that? Are you sure you don't mean highway on or off ramp?

..and the result, (discounting Roger and Jumkies excellent adventure - because that will never be surpassed) very possibly the best thread I've seen since Indy Social Experiment.

I need to partake in one of these now - and by that, I don't mean posting in the thread.

Just some teasers from Daytona Bike Week 2010.
Jumkie and California Kid flew in to Florida. Cali flew into Ft. Myers, and rode up with some buddies and I (about 250 miles) to Daytona. We trailered up a bike for Jumkie and Mrs. Jumkie. It was a blast, and we squeezed in about as much as you can in 4 days. We put about 900 miles on each of the bikes! We had a Honda CBR 1000RR, a CBR 600RR, a Kawasaki Mean Streak 1600 Vulcan, a Duc 1098S, a Duc Monster 1000 S2R, a Duc Monster 696, and a Triumph Speed Triple. An Epic 4 Days, thanks to Mrs. Gator (drove the trailered bikes up), Levi (let 8 people stay in his home), Jum, Evette, Cali and my buddies Terry and Ben. More to come later....

First ive ever heard mention of a Mrs Jumkie

Povol, I'm with you, didn't realize there was a Mrs. Jumkie...I mean she must be a real understanding wife because I seem to remember a really cool Playboy themed party sometime back where Jumkie was playing the part of Heff.

Anyway, great thread, hope there is more to come?

Hello all! It's been a while, unlike Jumkie I have to do long hours of physical work to earn my pay so it doesnt leave me much time to post well writen essays like his. First of all I have to Thank Gator for being such a Genorous guy and trusting me to put 900 safe miles on his bike plus showing me a great time around the beautifu state of Florida and Mr. Levi for opening up his home to me, introducing to some crazy girls
<
and best of all showing me how to use "Red Man" chewing tabacoo properly.

I knew this was going to be as good trip because I recieved my passaport just in time to use it as ID to board the plane. The police confescated my license a few months back because I failed to appear in court for 3 different traffic tickets (1 speeding on the bike 1 speeding on the car 1 talking on the phone while driving) my job takes up about 90% of my life and when i am free the courts are closed. $2800 later the state gave me a little paper endorsing me to drive a car and motorcycle which is temporary and not valid ID to get on a plane and im still waiting for the physical License.

Kim Kardashian!
Some people doubt the credability of this story!!! I am used to waking up at 2 or 3am to go to work, so i booked a 6am flight out of Ontario (a small airport 100x less busy than LAX and close). So I get to the line to board the plane and I see a big line full of people and of course im always scouting for the pretty ones i find one and notice she is with an african american guy so I assumed she was just a prostitute and that was her pimp ( its common for girls to fly in from other states and work close to the airports out here in southern california then go home with some good cash) as im walking to my seat and passing the 1st class cabin I see the girl who I 100% honestly thought was a hooker and realize its Kim Kardashian so i just laughed to myself and kept walking to my seat. Being that im in the entertainment industry I see famous people all the time and theres a certain level of profesionalism you have to keep, in the 5 years ive been working ive only collected 2 autographs (MMA great Randy coture and Carlos Santana) I like to save my ohhhs and ahhhhs for Moto gp. As im sitting on my way to houston where continental airlines flys out most of its connectors, I start having doubts that its her because I found it odd that she would fly that early and out of such a small airport. As I was walking out I asked one of the flight attendants if it was KK up in 1st class and she said yes, Then It dawned on me that she took that flight to avoid Papparazi at LAX or Burbank (the other 2 airports close to LA). Some one made a remark that she must fly in a private jet, that girl is Famous only Because of Reality TV and Tabloid magazines which dont pay as much as the Big Movies or music gigs she must be doing Ok but not good enough to fly in a private Jet and I do Fly in a private plane from time to time but I fly in a Socata Trinadad TB20 and sometimes im the Co pilot
<

Wedsday night was cool and relaxing I got in and was Recieved by Gator at the airport we just headed to his house where the Lovely Mrs. Gator was waiting and there beautiful Dogs (Bruno Isabel and Martini)too. We went out to Dinner to some kickass mexican place where I introduced them to my faviorte mexican beer (pacifico) then we headed home to rest up for the big ride to Daytona the next day.

I have a few more storys for you guys when i get the chance ill post including:
why I slept through a mini orgy in a car
not meeting Josh Herrin at the 200 ( It was a very good reason)
and my side of the many stories im sure Jumkie has for evryone!!!

Hey our friends here in Phuket have a piebald like that... I'll get some picks next time I go over and post for ya, Bonnie & Rog!!
